Earth's Greatest Magus

The initial exchange provided VIA with enough data to analyze the capabilities of the Grand Magus Emery was facing.

[Ramos]

[Grand Magus Realm, One Cosmos]

[Law of Fire 32%]

[Law of Wind 28%]

[Soul Force 712]

[Battle Power 730]

According to the Celestial system, Ramos was classified as a Level 3 Grand Magus, a designation placing him one level below Dong Bai, the formidable grand magus pirate Emery had faced four years prior. However, despite his lower battle power, Ramos’s proficiency in both wind and fire laws, along with his substantial soul force, presented a unique challenge. Additionally, this time, Emery was without the support of his Khaos Guardian.

“Let’s fight!!”

As the battle commenced, Ramos wasted no time in unleashing the Kux faction’s divine technique, [Wind and Cloud] Embracing the power of the elements, he enveloped himself in a swirling vortex of flaming wind, augmenting his abilities to formidable levels.

[Soul Force 712(792)]

[Battle Power 730 (810)]

As if summoned by the very essence of the wind itself, the grand magus surged forward with an aura of unstoppable force, his signature technique [Divine Eagle Claws] slashing through the air with deadly precision. Each strike was like the swoop of a mighty bird of prey, aimed to tear through any defense in its path.

Emery, already shrouded in his Twilight Form, met Ramos’s assault head-on. With a mixture of evasive maneuvers and strategic counterattacks, he deftly avoided the lethal strikes while delivering his own blows with his own [Blade Claw].

Yet, despite his initial confidence, the disparity in skill became painfully apparent within moments. Each clash revealed the glaring flaws in Emery’s technique, as his movements faltered and his defenses wavered under the relentless assault. The true mastery of his opponent’s technique, rooted in generations of tradition and refinement, overshadowed his own.

Emery sighed heavily, realizing the naivety of his belief that the [White Fang claws] technique, which he had diligently learned from Chief Bewolf over several months, could rival the thousand-year history of the Kux faction’s eagle claws techniques.

Fortunately, despite his shortcomings in technique, Emery managed to compensate with his formidable battle power. Under the relentless pressure of his opponent’s assault, he found an opening and launched a powerful counterattack.

With a swift and precise motion, his Blade Claw found its mark, leaving a deep gash across the grand magus’s chest and cheek, narrowly missing his thick eyebrows.

A pained grunt escaped the grand magus’s lips as surprise flickered across his face.

“How can a half-moon like you possess such high battle power?!”

Emery’s battle power was indeed extraordinary. In the hierarchy of magus, where typical battle power ranged from 300 to 500, with only a few full moons breaking the 500 mark, Emery stood out. Half-blooded magus was known to possess greater potential, but it was rare to encounter one with such formidable strength, especially among half-moons.

Not only did he possess the mythical rank 9 blood gene body and transformation, but he also benefitted from multiple battle power buffs. The effects of [Paragon Blessing], [Battle Roar], and his [Immortal Gate stage 8] combined to bolster his prowess significantly.

[Battle Power increased by 20]

[Battle Power increased by 256]

[Battle Power 545 (951)

The culmination of these enhancements elevated his battle power close to 1000, surpassing the average cosmos 1 grand magus. It was a numerical advantage that tipped the scales in Emery’s favor, granting him dominance in physical combat.

Recognizing the threat Emery posed, the grand magus abandoned any pretense of restraint. With a solemn expression, he unleashed the full might of the grand magus domain, a palpable surge of power radiating from his form. As his stats surged, he wasted no time in weaving intricate patterns of incantations, summoning high-tier spells to the fray.

[Soaring Cloud – tier 7].

The very air beneath him erupted with force as he propelled himself forward, a blur of motion akin to a meteor hurtling through the heavens. In an instant, he closed the distance between himself and Emery with alarming speed, leaving behind only a trail of displaced wind.

Fast, extremely fast!

Emery, recognizing the imminent danger, quickly retreated. With swift incantations, he summoned his [Blink] spells, evading by flickering away from the impending strike. But the grand magus was relentless, his words dripping with confidence as he mocked Emery’s efforts.

“Your space magic is useless against me!”

As the grand magus closed in, Emery felt the oppressive force of his opponent’s wind magic, a tempest that seemed to suffocate the very air around him. The relentless gusts restrained his movements, disrupting his concentration and hindering his ability to cast spells effectively. Even his most dependable spells [Blink] faltered under the onslaught, its incantations broken and incomplete.

In the face of a high-tier spell cast by a grand magus, Emery’s tier 4 spell was rendered useless. “Hahaha!! I’ve got you now!!!”

With a sly twist of his lips, Emery retorted, “Oh, are you sure about that?”

Fortunately, over the past four years, Emery had honed a few high-tier spells, including [Space Bending]. Unlike the tier 4 spells, a tier 6 spell like this one was deeply rooted in the Magus power of Law. Emery’s understanding of the laws of space came into play, allowing him to counter the opponent’s tier 7 spell. With a mere flick of his arm, Emery successfully manipulated the very fabric of space, expanding and distorting it around him to maneuver or swiftly evade Ramos’s relentless assaults.

“What?! Aaarghh this damn space magic!!”” Ramos exclaimed in frustration.

With each twist and turn, he deftly manipulated the fabric of space, slipping away from danger time and again. As his confidence swelled, Emery made a decisive move.

Drawing his [Savage Sword], its edge gleaming with deadly intent, Emery altered the spell’s trajectory, shortening the space distance and propelling himself forward with startling speed. With a swift and unexpected movement, he unleashed his surprise attack, the devastating [Omega Strike], the blade cutting through the air with a vicious whistling sound.

“SPLLAATT!!!”

The strike landed true, carving a deep wound into the grand magus’s waist and drawing forth the first blood. Ramos howled in agony as he stumbled backward, caught off guard by Emery’s sudden offensive. He quickly retreated putting some distance between them.

But Emery was not about to let his adversary escape so easily. He maintained pressure, weaving a continuous stream of [Space Bending] spells that hemmed Ramos in from all sides. No matter how fast Ramos moved, it was as if he was trapped in an ever-shrinking room, each attempt to flee only drawing him closer to Emery’s waiting blade.

“DAMNN!! YOU!!” Ramos’s voice echoed with frustration and pain as he found himself trapped in Emery’s unrelenting grasp.

Just as Emery was on the brink of delivering a decisive blow, Ramos unleashed a torrent of flames, conjuring a blazing armor that engulfed him in a fiery shield. The scorching heat not only halted Emery’s sword mid-swing but also retaliated with a searing blast, sending Emery hurtling backward through the air, his body skidding across the ground for a hundred meters.

Emery gritted his teeth against the pain, while, Ramos loomed over him, wreathed in flames, a sinister smirk playing across his lips.

“Huh!! Consider yourself lucky! You got to see my special spell before you die!”

Ramos, the master of the blazing wind, had finally unleashed his most powerful technique: [Myriad Flaming Cloak – Tier 8]. It was a spell of grand magus caliber, renowned for its dual purpose. Not only did it serve as an impenetrable defense, but its fiery embrace would incinerate any who dared draw near, making it a formidable obstacle for any close-combat magus like Emery.

With a shift in tactics, the grand magus altered his approach, blending high mobility with devastating long-range attacks. Each movement was fluid and precise, allowing him to unleash a relentless barrage of intense fireballs with alarming ease. Fueled by cosmic energy, Ramos seemed almost unending as he hurled several tier 4 fireballs after another, creating a nonstop rain of fire. the air crackling with the heat of his onslaught.

“Where are you going? hahaha!!”

Undeterred by the onslaught, Emery persisted in his advance, his continuous [Space Bending] spell weaving through the chaos as he sought an opportunity to strike. Finally, he identified a blind spot in Ramos’s defenses and prepared to unleash his [Dao Edge], a potent mid-range tier 6 technique. But before the powerful sword slash could materialize, Ramos unveiled yet another trick from his arsenal.

With a deft motion, Ramos summoned forth the [Burning Cloud], a mid-range tier 7 spell that fused fire and wind into a devastating tempest. The air crackled with heat as flames roared to life, enveloping the battlefield in a searing inferno. Emery found himself engulfed in swirling flames and choking smoke, his vision obscured and his body scorched by the intense heat.

It took moments for Emery to put out the flames that seemed to sear into his very bones. Yet, before he could fully recover, Ramos unleashed another barrage of fireballs, raining down upon him relentlessly.
