Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2134: Migration

Three weeks ago, after collecting Mo Yan bounty rewards and hearing the updated report on the pirate hunting campaign, Emery made a strategic decision to send Magus Rosia on an important task to visit a certain faction known for owning the dark orb crystal, a rare and valuable artifact necessary for creating another artificial waypoint gate.

Emery had been aware of the dark orb crystalʼs existence for several months. During that time, he had shown intention to purchase it. However, the faction that possessed the crystal demanded an exorbitant and unreasonable price, making it impossible for Emery to acquire it under normal circumstances.

The turning point came after Emeryʼs harrowing, life-or-death battle with Mo Yan. Emerging victorious from this fierce combat, Emery found himself could no longer afford to leave the Khaoʼs guardians in the subterranean realm. Additionally, Emery had been contemplating the potential consequences that his forceful attempt to break through Mo Yanʼs aperture could destroy the mountain that housed the ancient Alvanic formation gate. With a sudden and substantial influx of wealth, Emery reconsiders his approach to obtaining the dark orb crystal. Emery allocated all the necessary funds to purchase the dark orb crystal and gathered the skilled craftsmen required to construct the new waypoint gate within Alvanic City. The total cost for the crystal and the construction amounted to an enormous sum of 105 million spirit stones.

His decision was not driven by impulsiveness or solely by guilt over destroying Alvanicʼs only means of leaving the subterranean realm. Instead, it was a strategic move based on his firm belief that Terra City was prepared to enter the next phase of its development.

Over the past decade, Terra City had been meticulously developed into a highly secure fortress. The cityʼs focus had been on ensuring maximum security and stability, which came at the expense of social and economic growth. As a result, Terra City had become an unattractive destination for visitors or immigrants, except those seeking work opportunities.

Emery saw an opportunity to address multiple challenges simultaneously. By migrating 10,000 people from the subterranean realm—mainly craftsmen and their families—to Terra City, he envisioned a mutually beneficial solution. The influx of skilled labor would bolster Terra Cityʼs workforce and help stimulate economic growth while providing the subterranean people with a safer and more stable environment to live and work in.

By integrating the subterranean people into Terra Cityʼs fabric, Emery aimed to create a synergistic relationship that would propel the city toward a brighter and more prosperous future.

With significant effort, Terra faction successfully demonstrated that the subterranean people were indeed one of the lost civilizations that had once been part of the Magus Alliance. This compelling evidence persuaded the Magus Alliance to approve the migration of these people, granting them citizenship within Terra City.

All preparations were meticulously completed, and the citizens of Terra City were ready to welcome their new neighbors.

The actual migration process, which involved managing the passage of 10,000 people through the portal, was accomplished in a few hours. During this time, Emery, who was responsible for maintaining the portal, did not feel exhausted. Instead, he was deeply moved by the sight of the subterranean people falling to their knees, overwhelmed with gratitude at the opportunity to see the open sky once again.

Several Magus Alliance officers were present to assist with the process. They efficiently coordinated the verification of the newcomersʼ identities before they were integrated into Terra City.

The new citizens were guided to a newly prepared section of the city, which had been developed specifically for their arrival. This area was equipped with new housing and comprehensive facilities, designed to comfortably accommodate hundreds of thousands of people.

Emeryʼs plan extended beyond this initial migration. He intended to gradually bring more of the subterranean population to Terra City, further boosting the cityʼs growth and development. This ambitious project required a substantial investment and would deplete much of the profits they had accumulated over the past few months. However, Emery was confident that this investment in human capital and infrastructure would yield significant long-term benefits for both Terra City and the newly integrated subterranean people.

His initiative extended beyond merely bringing skilled labor. Among the new arrivals were 1,000 elite warriors, individuals at the saint level, and 10 magus. These veteran fighters were crucial additions, as they would be carefully nurtured and trained to bolster Terra Cityʼs defense forces. This reinforcement was particularly timely, given the increasing casualties from the ongoing pirate campaigns.

After the migration process was complete, a beautiful woman approached Emery with a polite gesture, calling out, ”Lord Emery.” It was Queen Soonhee, accompanied by representatives of the seven kingdoms.

They had come to express their profound gratitude for his efforts. Each representative pledged their commitment to reciprocate the favor by contributing to the development of Terra City.

Emery then organized a grand welcoming feast for the new citizens. The event was filled with a palpable sense of joy and relief. Amid the celebrations, Emery could see expressions of hope and anticipation for a promising future.

The feast was not just a celebration but a symbol of unity and a fresh start for the newly integrated community. The atmosphere was vibrant, filled with laughter and the sounds of music. The citizens of Terra City mingled with the newcomers, sharing stories and experiences, and fostering a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect.

When the feast concluded, Queen Soonhee went to look for Emery once more. Deeply moved by his actions, she felt an unwavering gratitude that had taken root in her heart. and she was willing to do anything for him. Her emotions ran so deeply that she was prepared to renounce her royal status to be with him, even if it meant becoming a lowly concubine. ℞₳NỐ𐌱Ë𝒮

However, she has to bitterly learn that Emery has already left Terra City.

Emery had been away from the academy for far too long. What was initially intended to be a short leave of a few days had unexpectedly stretched into more than a month. He accessed the waypoints to the Earth-Moon base and took one of the spaceships for a long five-day space journey toward the academy.

This time, Emery brought Chututlu along, which significantly enhanced his mobility. With Chututlu, he could navigate between multiple waypoints, allowing him to manage his responsibilities across Earth, Terra City, and the subterranean realm while continuing his training.
