Earth's Greatest Magus

2115 Defend 7

With all of his plant creatures upgraded over the last four years, the power of the fusion had increased significantly. The combined strength of Twik and the five Chizpurs had enhanced Emeryʼs capabilities beyond his previous limits.

As Emery charged forward, his body radiated an aura of unstoppable power. The decisive charge caught Mo Yan off guard, and the unexpected strike shattered the spectral armor into pieces. The impact resonated through the air like a thunderclap, sending shockwaves across the battlefield.

Despite the spectral armor absorbing most of the explosive strength, the sheer force of Emeryʼs blow sent the hunchback grand magus hurtling through the air. He flew a hundred meters, the force of the impact enough to draw blood and leave a significant gash on his cheek. Blood sprayed from his mouth as he tumbled across the ground, finally coming to a stop in a heap.

Emery was far from satisfied with just one blow. He had spent enough time observing the grand magusʼs abilities. Now that he had committed to the attack, he intended to end the fight as quickly and decisively as possible.

The fusion form enhanced nature-based spells, responding to Emeryʼs will, and the ground where Mo Yan fell shifted. As the grand magus struggled to rise, thick, powerful vines erupted from the earth. They snaked around his limbs, constricting tightly and pinning him in place. ”URGHH!!... Get off me!!!” He thrashed violently, spectral energy flaring around him as he tried to break free.

Before Mo Yan could escape, Emeryʼs massive form descended from the sky like a comet, his two massive feet striking the hunchback magus with devastating force.

BAMMM!!!

The impact created a shockwave that rippled through the battlefield, causing the ground to crack and debris to scatter. Mo Yan, incomplete spectral armor broke once again, blood oozing from his mouth and fresh wounds opening up across his body. But Emery knew this was far from enough to subdue the grand magus.

Without wasting a moment, Emery reached down and grabbed the bleeding grand magus from the ground. His grip was unyielding, fueled by the immense power coursing through his veins, Emery launched another powerful punch.

BAMMM!!

The force of the blow reverberated through Mo Yanʼs body, cracking bones and drawing a pained scream from the magus. Emery didnʼt stop there. His eyes were filled with relentless determination as he delivered another punch.

BAMMM!!

Blood splattered, and the sickening sound of Mo Yanʼs screams and breaking bones echoed across the battlefield. The companions inside the formation watched in speechless awe. They had heard of Emeryʼs reputation, but seeing him dominate the fight with such ferocity was beyond their comprehension. The rumors they had heard about his strength were not just true; they seemed to fall short of the reality unfolding before them.

Unfortunately, a Grand Magusʼs body was not easy to destroy. After half a dozen powerful punches, the old hunchback grand magus finally managed to take a ragged breath and unleash his life-saving spell. A defensive spirit blast erupted from him, forcefully throwing Emery away. The impact sent Emery skidding across the battlefield, but he quickly regained his footing, his eyes never leaving the wounded magus.

As the dust settled, the grand magus slowly regained consciousness. His body was in a horrendous state; pain coursed through him with one-third of his bones broken, and his left eye dangled grotesquely from its socket, hanging by a thread of sinew. Despite the immense pain, his rage was palpable. He glared at Emery with intense anger and hatred.

”You bastard!! I will tear off your skin, pull out your tendons, and grind your bones till they turn to dust!!” Mo Yanʼs voice was a venomous snarl, dripping with malice.

Emery ignored his threats. He had no intention of giving the grand magus time to recover. With unwavering determination, Emery charged at him again, his speed blurring his massive form. However, by the time Emery reached the old grand magus, another spectral body had already formed around him. The enormous spectral arms intercepted Emeryʼs punch, the collision causing a shockwave that rippled through the battlefield.

Although the spectral arm managed to block the powerful strike, the force of Emeryʼs blow, combined with the haste of the spellcasting, was enough to make Mo Yan cough up blood, his body convulsing from the internal damage. 𝐑𝘼ℕÖ𝖇Ěʂ

Emery didnʼt let up. He pressed his advantage, launching a relentless barrage of attacks. Mo Yan, desperate to defend himself, tried to retaliate with more spirit attacks aimed at Emeryʼs mind. However, each assault was effortlessly countered by Emeryʼs [Emperor Focus] skill, which shielded his mind from the grand magusʼs invasive energies.

”You hid your ability so well!! You are, in fact, a spirit master!!” Mo Yan exclaimed, his voice a mix of anger and grudging respect.

A spirit master with crazy battle power, despite being only in the half-moon realm. It was like an insane joke! Mo Yan couldnʼt grasp the logic behind encountering such a disastrous young magus who was a perfect bane to his abilities.

Acknowledging Emeryʼs formidable strength, the hunchback slave master shifted his strategy. He started to combine his spirit attacks with the defensive capabilities of his spectral form, creating a layered defense while he slowly attempted to recover his health. His spectral arms moved with a blend of offense and defense, parrying Emeryʼs strikes while launching counterattacks aimed at keeping him at bay.

As the battle continued, Mo Yan managed to put some distance between himself and Emery. Seizing the opportunity, he reached into his aperture and pulled out a large, human-sized wooden box—a coffin. The sight of it made Emery anxious, a foreboding sense of danger emanating from the object.

Emery quickly cast his [Spatial Bend] to enclose the grand magus, aiming to halt whatever dark ritual Mo Yan was attempting. However, to his surprise, a massive figure suddenly appeared beside him, blocking his path—it was the dying Golden King Roc. The colossal bird, despite its severe injuries, had been summoned to protect its master one last time.

Emery found himself grappling with the enormous bird, trying to keep its powerful beak and talons at bay. Amidst the struggle, Mo Yanʼs laughter echoed through the battlefield.

”Iʼll tell you why I chose your group… Half-bloods have always been my favorite slaves,” With a flourish of his hand, Mo Yan commanded the wooden coffin to open fully, revealing a muscular figure with two draconic horns—a dragon half-blood. ”Rise, my great dragon warrior!” Mo Yan intoned, his voice dripping with dark triumph.
