Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2114: Defend 6

A mix of cosmic energy and the spirit energy of two elemental laws—fire and wind—had created the massive explosion. The blast lasted for about ten seconds, a period that felt like an eternity to those within the formation. As the fiery light and concussive force began to subside, everyone inside the protective barrier held their breath, waiting to see what remained.

The first thing they saw was the corpse of Magus Riven. Despite having been a few hundred meters away from the epicenter, the formation expert had not survived. His charred body lay lifeless, a grim testament to the explosionʼs ferocity.

Nearby, the aftermath also revealed the remains of the desolate beasts that had fought so fiercely. Yellow tiger furs and bones were scattered across the ground, evidence of their demise. The white tiger, while still mostly intact, showed no signs of life. This formidable ancient desolate beast, which was already heavily wounded by previous assaults, had been unable to withstand the final, devastating blast.

The only one left standing was the King Golden Roc. However, it was in a pitiable state. Multiple parts of its majestic body were heavily charred, with blood gushing from numerous wounds. The once-proud creature staggered, its strength nearly spent. As the last echoes of the explosion faded, the roc finally collapsed to the ground, its life hanging by a thread.

Despite the catastrophic blast, the hunchback slave master, Mo Yan, remained standing. His body was hovering mid-air while encased in what appeared to be spectral armor, a shimmering green 4-meter spectral figure, a shield that protected him from the explosion. The formidable nature of this armor suggested it was a tier 7 or even tier 8 spell. Its existence added another layer of complexity to the challenge of defeating the grand magus.

Emery, assessing the situation, knew he needed more information about the spectral armorʼs capabilities. To probe further, he signaled his companions to continue their long-range attacks.

”Attack!!”

Magus Beatrice unleashed her wind blade spells and Livi the Baphemot multiple dark fireballs hurtled towards their target. However, these attacks had minimal effect on the spectral armor. Magus Tobinʼs bone spear, a formidable weapon in its own right, was easily dodged by Mo Yan, who moved with surprising agility despite his hunchbacked form.

Emery decided to deploy his hexagonal construct once again. Flying from a blind spot, it shot toward Mo Yan with deadly precision.

”This little toy again!!”

The spectral figure surrounding the grand magus suddenly formed two gigantic arms. One arm blocked the flying metal construct, while the other struck it hard, smashing it to the ground with immense force. Enraged by the little construct, which had been a significant factor in his failures, Mo Yan directed a barrage of powerful blows at it. Each strike shook the ground, and after a series of devastating impacts, the tier 7 metal construct finally broke apart.

VIAʼs notification confirmed the damage:

[Device heavily damaged]

[Detected Multiple malfunctions]

[Signal lost]

Losing the precious construct was a significant blow, but through these attacks, Emery deduced more about his opponentʼs abilities. The spectral form displayed strength and speed in the range of 1200 to 1300 battle power—a physical power much stronger than Ramos. However, despite its high tolerance to magical attacks, it was clear that the spectral form had a notable weakness against physical attacks. This weakness explained why the grand magus had focused so much on the metal construct and the bone spear.

With all their long-range attacks failing, the hunchback Grand Magus approached the formation, his expression twisted with irritation. He sneered, ”Youʼre ruining such a good slave… now all of you will be the replacements.”

Enraged, the grand magus sent his massive spectral arm to strike the formation barrier. Each impact resonated with a bone-shaking force, causing Magus Yord to struggle as he desperately tried to maintain the integrity of the barrier. The relentless assault from the spectral arm was slowly but surely finding its way through the formationʼs defenses.

The entire formation shook violently with each hit, cracks spider-webbing across the barrier. Magus Yord was sweating profusely, his face pale as he channeled every ounce of his energy into holding the barrier together.

”This is madness! We are going to die!! We need to escape!!” shouted Edgar, his face a mask of panic. Despite his desperation, he had no courage to step out of the formation. He knew that the grand magusʼs spirit attack would be the death of him the moment he left the protection of the barrier. ℞ΆＮô𝔟ËṠ

”Do something!!!” shouted the Kux noble, his voice cracking with fear.

Emery looked toward the formation master, and after confirming that the formation would not hold much longer, he turned to the others and said, ”Iʼll give it a try”

Decisively, he called out Twik and the five Chizpurs, all of whom immediately released their connection to the earth, effectively deactivating their one layer of stone defense and pulling out all the plasma turrets.

This action puzzled the others, and Edgar swiftly shouted, ”What are you doing!! Are you running away!!?”

The next moment, all eyes were wide with surprise as the six creatures positioned themselves beside Emery. Emery initiated the foundational technique [One Mind] and subsequently released [Plant Mastery - Fusion]. All six amalgamated with Emery, resulting in a colossal figure clad in formidable plant armor.

[Battle power increases exponentially]

[Soul Force increases exponentially]

The transformation was astounding. Emeryʼs form was now a towering 4-meter-tall figure of interwoven plant and organic matter, radiating immense power.

As Emery took a step forward, the ground beneath him trembled. His eyes glowed with a fierce determination. ”Stay inside the formation,” he reiterated.

Emery confidently walked toward the formation barrier. All eyes were filled with anticipation.

Even the hunchback grand magic-user was amused. ”Haha, you are very interesting… I canʼt wait to dissect and see your secret!!”

As soon as Emery stepped out of the formation, the grand magusʼs eyes gleamed with malevolent intent. His formidable spirit offense lashed out at Emeryʼs mind

”Hahaha, no matter how big your muscles are, you cannot resist this!!”

The spirit attack was indeed powerful. Emeryʼs mind was struck hard, and for a second, his steps faltered. But then, his [Emperor Focus] activated, cleansed, and protected his mind from further threats. The mental assault dissipated like a mist in the wind.

”What!!!” The hunchback grand magic-user was shocked, his eyes widening in disbelief. Before he could react further, Emeryʼs massive form was already upon him.

With a roar, Emery threw a powerful punch. His colossal fist collided with the spectral armor.

BAAAMMM!!!!

The impact was thunderous. Within just one strike, the formidable spectral armament cracked and shattered into pieces.
