Wizard: Stronger through Marriage

Chapter 80: Chapter 80: I Want to Become King

”Sister Liya, have you broken through Tier Three?”

Amy looked surprised during the tea party in the castle’s rear garden.

Liya happily nodded.

Actually, she herself had never thought there would be such a day.

Even the Gray Wolf Knights are only Tier Three, and now she has become a Tier Three Knight.

This is indeed too fantastical for her.

Reina looked at Liya with a face full of admiration as well.

She remembered Liya’s age was not even twenty, wasn’t it?

Such a young Tier Three Knight, in any family, would be considered a genius.

Moreover, Liya was originally from a commoner background, so her actual cultivation time was undoubtedly far less than those family geniuses.

This situation further highlights Liya’s talent.

No, that’s not right.

Apart from Liya’s own talent, the magical power controlled by Duke Frost Wolf is the key factor.

Even herself, she has benefited from this power, without which she could hardly have advanced to Tier Two Peak in such a short time.

Thinking of this, she secretly clenched her fist.

She believed her talent was no weaker than Liya’s and she defiantly refused to fall behind.

...

Daytime.

David carried out his knight cultivation as usual.

For a Tier Four Knight to break through to Tier Five, the most important thing is to transform gaseous Fighting Qi into liquid Fighting Qi, for which he has been continuously refining his Fighting Qi quality recently.

At noon, he would train with Cynthia.

In the afternoon, he continued knight cultivation.

In the evening, it’s the time of Liya, Amy, and Reina.

Every Wise Man’s Time after dual cultivation was used to practice the Meditation Method.

At this moment, inside City Hall.

David was holding the intelligence he had just acquired, revealing his contemplative gaze.

The old King of the Silver Moon Kingdom probably wouldn’t last much longer.

And this signifies the upcoming civil war within the Silver Moon Kingdom; the Eldest Prince is unlikely to let the Second Prince ascend uninhibited.

Besides them, there is also the Third Prince known as Silver Moon Star.

The Silver Moon Kingdom is about to face a three-way battle for the throne, and in this situation, remaining neutral is undoubtedly the best approach.

What he needs to do is to convince all parties that he has the strength to maintain neutrality.

Even with the Second Prince, he had not openly broken off, maintaining superficial peace.

But what he lacks most now is time.

”Lord Duke, do we truly need to submit to the King of the Silver Moon?” Reina suddenly asked.

Looking at the intelligent woman in front of him, David smiled slightly and said, ”As long as I become the new King of the Silver Moon, it won’t be considered a breach of agreement.”

This was the first time he voiced his goal.

From the moment he decided to pursue the path of the wizard, it destined him to oppose the continent’s largest organization.

To combat the Church, he must leverage royal power.

Throughout history, divine power and royal power have always been two different sources of power and forms of rule, with conflict primarily centered on authority source, power legitimization, and methods of governance.

Divine power politics emphasize that a ruler’s authority directly stems from God or supernatural power, whereas royal power politics believe that power comes from hereditary succession, conquest, or popular consent, with legality based more on secular laws and traditions.

In this world, divine power centers around the Church, with the Pope seen as God’s representative on Earth, holding absolute authority in the spiritual domain.

The Church not only teaches faith but also interferes in secular affairs, influencing royal decisions through clergy authority.

In contrast, royal power is represented by kings and queens, who are secular rulers responsible for military, legal, and administrative governance.

David discovered stories of royal power versus divine power struggles throughout the Frost Wolf Clan’s historical records.

Royal families have repeatedly challenged the Church’s authority, attempting to erode its control over nations, recognizing that to truly hold power, breaking free from the Church’s constraints was imperative.

A pivotal turning point occurred hundreds of years ago when major continental kings allied to combat the Church’s excessive interventions.

They launched a reform movement aimed at weakening the Church’s economic strength, limiting divine power, and ensuring royal commands could be directly executed without clerical interference.

This movement, known as ”Royal Revival,” though filled with bloody and fiery clashes, successfully established a more balanced power structure within those royal courts.

However, this victory didn’t mean the end of the divine versus royal power conflict.

As time went by, the Church continued to rebuild its strength, and with the disappearance of those Legendary Knights, divine power began repressing royal power once again.

David understood that in his era, he would still have to face this subtle power game; perhaps one day, kingdoms might unite again to stand at the forefront against divine power, fighting for royal autonomy and national prosperity.

What he must do now is attempt to grasp royal power to once again ignite a battle between royal and divine powers, aiming to overthrow the Church.

He is a wizard.

To bring about the Church’s demise, he must ascend the throne.

Only by using the strength of a kingdom can he oppose the Church, combating divine power with royal power, reconstructing the wizard-centered kingdom.

A fervor flashed in Reina’s eyes; she saw the potential for kingship in her man, which is also her expectation!

”Then I am willing to help you ascend the throne.”

Without hesitation, Reina knelt on one knee and pledged allegiance.

David smiled slightly, moving forward to lift Reina’s chin, ”When I become the King of the Silver Moon, it will be time to help you reclaim the Jingge Kingdom.”

”Then can I collect some interest first now?”

Mmm—

Just as Reina opened her mouth, she was already silenced.

Afterwards, one of her legs was lifted, and her back pressed against the wall.
