Wizard: Stronger through Marriage

Chapter 54: Chapter 54: The Enemy Army Arrives

The allied forces of Ice Bear City slowly marched on the road to Frost Wolf Ridge.

At the very front of the formation, Marquis Ice Bear rode upon a gigantic White Bear.

Behind the White Bear were a full two hundred Ice Bear Knights mounted on the highland warhorses of the Northern Lands.

The armor worn by the knights was crafted by the renowned Northern workshop ”Frost Hammer and Bear’s Jaw.”

The pure white Cold Iron breastplates were engraved with the imposing image of an Ice Bear’s head, symbolizing fearless courage, and the shoulder plates were adorned with patterns of two bear claws, as if emitting a deep roar.

The fluttering cloak in the wind bore an exquisite Ice Bear emblem, revealing their bloodline of the Ice Bear Clan, and the snowflake patterns decorating the azure velvet belt around their waist further signified their nobility and solemnity.

This was the legendary Ice Bear Knight Order, whose combat strength was considered not to be inferior to the peak Frost Wolf Knight Order.

In the present, with the decline of the Frost Wolf Clan and the Frost Wolf Knight Order laid to rest alongside the old Duke on the battlefield, the Ice Bear Knight Order became the strongest knight order in the Northern Lands!

In comparison, the knight orders of the other nobility seemed much more humble.

At the rear of the formation were the commoner laborers conscripted by the lords, struggling to keep pace with the army, pulling handcarts loaded with food and tents.

This allied force was composed of the Ice Bear Clan and other affiliated families.

As for the other nobles of the Northern Lands, few had joined the Ice Bear City’s allied forces, with most still in a wait-and-see state.

The Frost Wolf Clan, as the former King of the Northern Lands, still had a very strong deterrent effect on many families.

Recently, there were rumors that the new Duke Frost Wolf had successfully advanced to Earth Knight and was reclaiming lost territories with thunderous means.

They were naturally unwilling to risk offending the Frost Wolf Clan by joining the Ice Bear City’s allied forces.

Moreover, the current King of the Silver Moon had not truly died yet.

Although the Second Prince, backed by the Ice Bear Clan, held a definite advantage in the struggle for the throne.

But the final ownership of the throne was still undecided.

Furthermore, the Frost Wolf Clan had always been traditionalists, staunch supporters of the Eldest Prince, the first in line for succession.

The ongoing war in the Northern Lands, in some sense, represented the power struggle behind the two Princes, and they did not wish to hastily take sides.

Regarding this, Marquis Ice Bear appeared very calm.

Once the Frost Wolf Clan is destroyed, the Ice Bear Clan will fully control the Eastern Northern Lands and Frost Wolf Forest.

This would become the Ice Bear Clan’s confidence to join the Second Prince’s camp.

He was not satisfied with the Second Prince’s covert support; instead, he intended to seize a share in this civil war of the Silver Moon Kingdom.

”My Lord, we will soon arrive at Eagle Wing Castle.”

The scouting knight returned from afar on horseback, kneeling on one knee before Marquis Ice Bear.

Eagle Wing Castle.

Marquis Ice Bear sneered coldly.

At the time, he paid a hefty price to win over Viscount Eagle Wing.

But this worthless man couldn’t even last through the Frosty Winter and was easily killed by Duke Frost Wolf.

In hindsight, it was also his own carelessness.

He hadn’t expected that little wolf cub to be so patient.

The entire Northern Lands thought he was a useless fool; no one would have imagined he was actually a genius capable of advancing to Earth Knight.

If he had known earlier, he would have dealt with that little wolf cub immediately after the old Duke’s death!

But it’s not too late now.

He believed that as long as he, a Tier Four Peak Earth Knight, took action, the newly advanced Earth Knight, David, would be no match for him.

As for the knight orders, his Ice Bear Knight Order was unparalleled throughout the Northern Lands, far superior to the dilapidated Frost Wolf Knight Order of the Frost Wolf Clan.

Plus the other noble knight orders from Ice Bear City, this battle held no suspense.

With this thought, a cold demeanor crossed his face, and he directly ordered: ”March forward quickly, tonight we rest at Eagle Wing Castle!”

...

Eagle Wing Castle.

David stood on the city wall.

Behind the wall stood a row of wolf cavalry.

The equipment on these wolf cavalry wasn’t particularly exquisite, but just the Gray Wolf mounts beneath them exuded an aura of power.

Meanwhile, the other conscripted nobles present were also observing this wolf cavalry.

They hadn’t expected that the new Duke Frost Wolf could train such a wolf cavalry in a short time.

This gave them a little more confidence.

Though Frost Wolf Ridge cannot contend with Ice Bear City, relying on the strength of Lord Duke and these wolf cavalry should be enough to halt their advance.

Just then, the silhouette of a Snow Pigeon flew in from afar.

This Snow Pigeon was trained by Cynthia using Beast Language, adeptly handling messenger work.

This was also the main reason Frost Wolf Ridge could so quickly learn of Ice Bear City’s intentions to attack and rapidly gather noble and knight forces.

Sometimes, the power of a Wizard indeed is formidable.

This power extends beyond simply martial prowess, impacting various facets of the world.

With just one Beast Language ability, Cynthia was aiding Frost Wolf Ridge in raising a large number of Gray Wolves and Snow Pigeons.

This despite the limited time available.

If given enough time, Cynthia could slowly tame more magical creatures and beasts in Frost Wolf Forest, assembling a beast army!

The Snow Pigeon swiftly arrived before David.

He took the note tied to the Snow Pigeon’s leg and glanced at it, his face showing little surprise.

”Prepare for battle.”

Upon hearing his words, the Gray Wolf Knight nodded.

Soon, the message spread, and the knights began preparing.

With the city gates of Eagle Wing Castle opening, David leapt off the city wall onto Snow Wolf Xiaobai, the Gray Wolf Knight leading the wolf cavalry and heading out of the city.

Outside Eagle Wing Castle was a vast plain, perfect terrain for cavalry charges, naturally also suitable for wolf cavalry and wolf pack charges.

As the golden sunlight gradually slid toward the horizon, reflecting off the majestic mountains, the distant edge of the plain revealed the figures of the allied forces of Ice Bear City.

Marquis Ice Bear, riding atop the White Bear, led at the forefront of the alliance, also spotting the faint outline of Eagle Wing Castle and the wolf cavalry standing before its walls!
