Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2274: Chapter 2268: Qin Yu Comes Clean

”I grew up in the Imperial Capital. Everyone in our circle knows each other. Anyone who knows the Qin family’s second child would think the same when they see you. Besides, I’ve seen your investigation reports from when you were young and know you are indeed from the Qin family.” Chu Molin never intended to hide this from Qin Yu, so he answered when asked.

”Does my sister know?” Qin Yu nodded.

”She didn’t know before, but now she does.” Chu Molin nodded.

”Did you tell her, or did that person find her?” Qin Yu looked at Chu Molin. Given his character, he’s not the talkative type, so there was only one other possibility.

”Xue’er saved his wife and later ran into him. Your sister looks so much like your mother that he recognized her right away, so he told your sister that he is your father. Later, Xue’er didn’t want to accept it and has kept ignoring them ever since.” Chu Molin told Qin Yu about the encounter between Qin Xue and Qin Huaihe.

”I originally wanted to keep it from my sister, but I didn’t expect she already knows.” Qin Yu had never mentioned this matter before, fearing his sister couldn’t accept it. Now, it turns out his sister knew yet didn’t tell him.

”When did you find out?” Chu Molin didn’t quite know how to talk about this. He was the first to know but didn’t tell his wife. Qin Yu found out at some point and never told anyone.

”A long time ago. I overheard it by accident. I just didn’t want my sister to find out, fearing she’d be hurt. But, alas, fate had other plans.” Qin Yu sighed. His little sister still didn’t know about it. Who knows what she’d think once she found out?

”You’ve been good at keeping it hidden; not a single word leaked out.” Chu Molin looked at his brother-in-law, who always seemed mature and composed in front of others, only showing a different side in front of his sister and younger sibling. Is this considered pretending?

”At the time, I never doubted it. I only found out when I accidentally overheard my grandparents talking. It’s not something we wanted to happen, but it is what it is. As those in the know, we just have to keep the secret. I never expected to come to the Imperial Capital or that the person would be here and you would know him. You probably suspected something when you first saw me, right?” Qin Yu’s question implied a certainty he felt inside.

”I suspected it, but this is the previous generation’s issue. Dad’s family treats Mom well and is good to you and your sister too. In such a situation, why disrupt the balance? A peaceful life is what we pursue as a family. Once this matter is out, who knows what might happen, right?” Chu Molin felt the matter wasn’t important enough to mention. This family treated them kindly. Why disrupt that? If the Qins treated them poorly, he might not think this way or help conceal it. But things were different, so he didn’t want to break the status quo. As long as they could live happily, he was okay with it.

”That’s true. I also believe Dad will always be our dad. Our grandparents are good to Mom and us, so I can’t let them know I already know. But if that person finds Mom, it could cause quite a stir in Qin Village. I really hope that doesn’t happen.” Qin Yu didn’t want his family to become the village laughingstock.
