Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2269: Chapter 2263: Conducting Experiments

But looking at his wife, who was also a doctor, Chu Molin couldn’t believe she had never tested medicine on herself. Before he knew her, he could ignore it, but now she was his wife, he couldn’t ignore it. Otherwise, what if she repeated her actions one day? His heart would be scared to a stop, wouldn’t it?

”Xue’er, don’t ever test medicine on yourself again. I’m scared.” Chu Molin didn’t think there was anything wrong with admitting his fear.

This is exactly how he felt, so he told his wife just that.

”Don’t worry, I really haven’t tested medicine on myself. Back then, we had a lot of lab mice, and most of the time, we used them and rabbits for testing. Although the data and indicators differ somewhat from humans, they’re quite close. Testing on them is somewhat cruel, but better than using humans, right?” Qin Xue knew it was cruel, but for the progress of humanity and to avoid making humans test subjects, their medical school used lab mice for experiments.

Moreover, using them for experiments was well considered. With losses there must be gains; not all of them died. Qin Xue and her team acquired the antibodies they needed from the lab mice.

This was the most common thing in medical school. Humans and lab mice were indispensable parts of it.

”Hmm, you have to take care of yourself.” Chu Molin nodded. It’s good that she hadn’t; he was really worried this foolish woman would act recklessly.

”You don’t have to worry. I’ve never done it before, not when I was studying, and I won’t do it now. Rest assured.” Qin Xue had only tested acupuncture on herself before, but never medicine, so she spoke without any guilt.

Chu Molin was willing to believe her because Qin Xue wasn’t touching her earlobe with her hand. Otherwise, no matter what she said, he wouldn’t believe her.

”It’s good that you haven’t done so.” Chu Molin thought that it was best if she hadn’t. Although his thoughts and actions were somewhat selfish, he was human too; he had emotions and thoughts. He wasn’t a dead person who would do nothing while watching his wife test medicine on herself. This reaction is what a normal person would have.

”Hmm, for you, I definitely won’t do that.” Qin Xue looked at the man who had become as jittery as a startled bird. He cared so much about her that she didn’t know whether to be happy or sad. Clearly strong, yet he revealed his vulnerability because of her.

Seeing Chu Molin like this made Qin Xue’s heart ache. She reached out to take his hand, wrote two characters on his palm, and then smiled.

”Me too.” Chu Molin looked at her tenderly. How could he not be moved by having a woman who understood his heart so well? He felt like he’d met her too late.

But she wasn’t around before, so even if he wanted to meet her, it wasn’t possible. Chu Molin let it go, no matter what, she was his wife now, and she belonged to him in the future.

”Got it, boss, is it time to rest, or do you want to read with me? There are still many books on the shelf we haven’t read. If you want to finish them, it’ll take a long time, or you’ll have a lot of work ahead of you.” Qin Xue looked at Chu Molin. If he didn’t want to rest, they could read together. She lately felt a bit worn out, not knowing why, so she wanted to read more.

This feeling of exhaustion was terrible, and she didn’t want it to continue, so she had to find a way to resolve it.
