Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1623: Chapter 1617 Confidentiality

“I know Qin Jiale is a good girl, but right now your task is to study. Only by doing well in your studies will you have more choices in the future. Even though your dad might arrange a job for you eventually, doing well in school now won’t harm you, right?” Ye Junhua looked at his nephew, who had changed a lot since his sister went missing.

His brother-in-law was also worried about his safety, so most of the time, he lived with them.

“I get it, don’t worry. I won’t do anything. If I do, it’ll be after I’ve excelled. I don’t have what it takes right now.” Ye Li glanced at the kitchen door. He wasn’t capable of doing anything yet, so he would work hard.

“That’s good. I’m not against you, it’s just that, as you know, sometimes wanting to bring happiness to someone requires ability and the right conditions. Don’t you think?” Ye Junhua treated Ye Li like his own son, so he always guided him as he did with Ye Zishu.

“Yes, Uncle, they don’t know about our relationship. Keep it confidential for me, okay? I don’t want any special treatment.” Ye Li always acted separately from Ye Zishu, and since they usually boarded at school, no one knew about their relationship, except for Pang Chao.

“Okay, then just call me Mr. Ye from now on.” Ye Junhua had no problem with this.

If his nephew liked interacting this way, then they’d continue like this. Their relationship wouldn’t change anyway.

“Lele, what are you doing? Why are you adding salt?” Guan Xiaojun looked puzzled at Qin Jiale. Wouldn’t adding salt kill the whelks?

“If I add salt, they’ll expel the mud from their bellies. That way, if I change the water a few times later, we can eat them tonight. But if I don’t add salt, it’ll take several days to cleanse them. For quick results, add salt. Of course, adding a bit of sesame oil has the same effect too.” Qin Jiale thought these little tips were really all about technique.

“Oh, so that’s how it works. Does that mean we can eat them tonight?” Guan Xiaojun, who had never eaten them, looked at Qin Jiale with hope.

“Yes, but what do you mean? Are you planning to stay and eat before going home?” Qin Jiale asked her somewhat unsurely.

“Exactly, that’s what I’m thinking. Pretty loyal of me, huh?” Guan Xiaojun shamelessly admitted, even she was afraid of herself.

“You’re willing to not go home just for this food?” Qin Jiale was truly amazed by her.

“It’s not that I’m not going home. I’ll just go back to school with you later. Plus, Uncle Ye is here, so he can tell my parents for me.” As soon as Guan Xiaojun heard they could eat something delicious tonight, she already had a plan.

“Alright, if you’re not worried about your family coming over, then do as you please. We’ve got plenty of rooms anyway.” Qin Jiale wasn’t against her staying, but wouldn’t her family worry?

“Don’t worry. My parents are used to decisions like this from me.” Guan Xiaojun often went to Xu Shaoqin’s house. They had a longstanding family connection and had come here to work together, and they’d been in the same class from a young age. So her parents were also reassured.

“Fine, you’re just a free-range kid. What about you guys? Are you planning to stay too?” Qin Jiale turned to ask the three people behind her.

“Yeah, we’ll stay. We want to try it too.” They had already told their parents they were going to a classmate’s house and were brought here by Uncle Ye, so their parents knew about it. Uncle Ye could pass the message to their parents later.
