Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1622: Chapter 1616: Making Delicious Food

As for Ye Zishu, she had an agreement with her dad outside, at school she called him Teacher instead of Dad, so it’s normal that Qin Jiale didn’t know. In fact, not only Qin Jiale, but most people in their school probably didn’t know they were father and daughter.

Ye Zishu was really peculiar. Sometimes, in front of her mom, she would even call her dad Mr. Ye, which made her mom very amused yet helpless. She always joked that Ye Zishu wasn’t a child of The Yes, but was switched at birth.

“Mr. Ye, you sit and have some water, I’ll go take care of these whelks. Oh, Mom, I caught a rice eel, you can make porridge for the kids later. Just add more rice since there are a few foodies here who also want to eat.” The rice eel Qin Jiale caught today is quite big, so adding more rice for cooking is absolutely fine.

“Got it, your dad will be back soon, let him handle it later.” Nangong Shulan was not skilled at handling these; it was always her husband who dealt with them, and she only cooked.

She still remembered when she first arrived and couldn’t do any housework. Looking at everything in the kitchen, she was utterly confused and didn’t know where to start. It was Qin Lei who taught her how to do household chores step by step.

Now, with years of experience and training from her eldest daughter, her cooking skills have become quite decent.

“Yeah, he’ll be back soon. Kids, come help Auntie, okay?” Qin Jiale took the basket from Ye Li’s hands and called to the kids; she needed to get some work done and wanted to take the kids along for some fun.

“Okay, Auntie, I’ll help you carry it.” Cohen was the first to volunteer.

“Great, thank you, Cohen.” Qin Jiale didn’t refuse him.

“Grandpa, you drink some water, we’re going to help Auntie.” Yu Ze bowed to Ye Junhua, speaking in a soft child’s voice.

“Alright, thank you.” Ye Junhua nodded, not knowing what kind of parents raised such excellent children.

“You’re welcome, Grandma, I want to eat something tasty, and make sure Grandpa and these pretty sisters and big brothers have some too.” Actually, Yu Ze wanted Nangong Shulan to prepare a meal for the guests, but saying it directly seemed a bit scary, so he just said he wanted to eat and suggested making more so these young boys and girls could also try some.

This way, it wouldn’t seem too obvious, while still reminding Nangong Shulan that it was lunchtime and she should prepare a meal, so as not to neglect the guests.

“Alright, Grandma knows, Yu Ze, you just go and play. Teacher Grandpa is taken care of by Grandma here.” Nangong Shulan indeed wanted to cook now; she just felt it was impolite to leave the teacher sitting here alone, which was why she hadn’t gone just yet.

“Auntie, we will accompany Mr. Ye. You go check on Qin Jiale and the others.” Ye Li also noticed Nangong Shulan’s awkwardness, so he found an excuse for her.

“That works too, thank you all.” Nangong Shulan nodded. This boy was quite attentive and seemed very understanding.

“You kid, let me tell you, it’s not the time for you to be acting recklessly. Keep your mind on your studies; that’s what’s important.” After Nangong Shulan left, Ye Junhua spoke to reprimand Ye Li.

“What are you talking about? Didn’t you see Auntie just sitting there awkwardly with you? I just let her go do her thing. I didn’t do anything wrong, did I?” Ye Li didn’t care what Ye Junhua thought; he knew what he was doing. Even if Ye Junhua knew, so what? He wasn’t neglecting his studies.
