Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1609: Chapter 1603: Missing the Child Chapter 1609: Chapter 1603: Missing the Child “When you can speak as fluently as a big brother, they’ll come back.” Yu Ze didn’t know when their parents would return, so he set a target to promise his younger brother.

He was afraid that if he said too short a time, and their parents hadn’t returned by then, his brother would be unhappy.

So he extended the time quite a lot, thinking that by the time his brother could say many words, their parents should have come back.

“Cohen, what are you thinking about?” Jingtao asked him as he sat beside Cohen.

“I miss mom and dad. Why haven’t they come to pick us up yet? Do they not want us anymore?” Cohen’s eyes were red. He had finally found a set of parents—did they not want him again?

“Not at all. Auntie Dad and Auntie Mom went to a far, far place to work. They haven’t finished, so they can’t come back. They haven’t abandoned us.” Jingtao had always lived with his mother.

Sometimes when he missed his father, his mother would tell him the same thing. He’d keep hoping for his dad to finish work soon and come back to be with him and his mom. Sure enough, his dad returned not long after. So now he also hopes Auntie Dad and Auntie Mom can finish work soon and come home to be with them.

“Really?” Cohen asked Jingtao skeptically. He was afraid of being abandoned.

“Yeah, really. Let’s go and play with our younger brothers.” Jingtao nodded emphatically. It’s true; he believes his mother wouldn’t lie to him.

“Okay.” Cohen reached out to take Jingtao’s hand, and they went together to find the twin brothers.

“Sigh.” Nangong Shulan looked at these children and let out a heavy sigh.

“Godmother, what’s wrong?” Qing Zhu didn’t understand why Nangong Shulan sighed.

“I wonder what’s going on with Qin Xue and the others? They’ve been gone so long without sending any messages back.” Nangong Shulan had never encountered such a situation.

No matter what, she hoped the children could all return safely. That would be the happiest thing in life.

“Maybe there’s no signal there or they’re just really busy. You know, sometimes when things get busy, you can’t take care of everything. Don’t you think?” Qing Zhu didn’t know where Qin Xue and the others were on a mission, but she knew things don’t always go as planned.

Even if they wanted to do something, if the situation didn’t allow, there would be nothing they could do, right?

“Perhaps. But you can see the situation with these kids; they’re all waiting for their parents to come back. The children are young and don’t understand their parents’ hardships. I’m just afraid this will leave a shadow in their hearts.” Nangong Shulan didn’t say anything more.

She was just worried about the children. Seeing them eagerly waiting, her heart ached. The children’s longing for their parents was the same as her longing for her daughters.

It’s just that the kids are young, and not seeing their parents, who knows what they’ll think. These are things she doesn’t understand. But she can only try her best to take good care of these kids, so her daughter and son-in-law can work with peace of mind.

“These children are sensible, and I believe they’ll understand. You shouldn’t worry too much. Take care of your health so you can help Qin Xue take care of her children. That way, she can work without worry, right?” Qing Zhu didn’t know why, but she felt like she had said these words many times before.

Yet she had no memory of it, and the words just came out on their own.

So she wondered if, before she lost her memory, she often faced such situations and often said things like this. That’s why when such situations arose, the words would come out without thinking.
