A God-tier Counter-damage Priest, I am the Master!

50: Taming Mounts (Part 2)However, as time passed, the smile on Bai Tian’s face gradually vanished, replaced by a look of frustration.

Only 30 seconds had passed, and 17 adult Strange Horse corpses already lay on the ground.

These fellows were all so unyielding, choosing death over becoming a mount.

Bai Tian let out a long sigh; though deeply disappointed, he was also moved by the tenacity of these Strange Horses.

Perhaps this was their pride and dignity as Strange Horses!

To calm himself down, Bai Tian took a deep breath.

Then, his face blossomed with the warmest and kindest smile.

He turned to the eight sturdy adult Strange Horses and said gently, ”Really, I am truly a good person!”

”As long as one of you is willing to become my mount, I will let your companions go, I promise.”

He pressed his hands together and bowed deeply to these creatures, his eyes filled with expectation and sincerity.

However, just as Bai Tian was about to start taming again, a sudden gale struck, sending him flying over five meters high.

A terrifying damage number popped up from his health bar.

Damage -3909!

Immediately after, a system prompt sounded: ”(You have been attacked by the [Ancestral Return Strange Horse]’s skill [Flying Swallow Kick], suffering a knock-up effect, stunned for two seconds, losing 1000 HP per second for 5 seconds.)”

Bai Tian was knocked dizzy and fell to the ground, unable to move.

He never expected that the Boss, which had already fled, would suddenly return and launch such a fierce attack on him.

However, right after the Boss knocked him away with its skill, the Boss itself also sprayed blood from its mouth and nose due to the Rebound damage, falling painfully to the ground.

40x Rebound: -156360!

Continuous 40x Rebound: -40000, -40000!

When Bai Tian had only 177 health points left, he finally broke free from the stun effect.

He quickly used Healing Spell, and his vitality instantly recovered by +3200, filling up his health bar.

However, in the next second, another continuous damage number popped up on his health bar: -1000!

That was close!

Almost died!

Bai Tian felt secretly lucky; his total health was only 2177 points. When he was ambushed by the Boss just now, it was fortunate that his Longevity passive was triggered, resisting the lethal damage.

After landing, he continued to lose blood, dropping 1000 HP per second.

If the Boss’s control skill had lasted any longer, even with the Longevity passive, he would have found it hard to survive.

Bai Tian quickly swallowed a Gold Wound Pill and then converted 5000 mana points into health.

After its scream, the Boss that ambushed him immediately flipped back up and let out a sky-shaking roar.

The remaining eight adult Strange Horses instantly regained their mobility and took off running.

Clearly, this Boss had come to save its tribe.

After successfully rescuing its companions, despite having lost over two hundred thousand health points, the Boss still glared fiercely at Bai Tian, preparing to retreat.

But how could Bai Tian let it go so easily?

After quickly consuming a pill, he instantly burned 6400 mana points.

Bai Tian unhesitatingly unleashed a geometrically amplified [Cold Abyss Burst] toward the Boss.

The frigid energy of the Cold Abyss Burst transformed into the shape of an Azure Dragon, surging like a hurricane and accurately hitting the Boss.

Bai Tian was still under a 640% amplification, and the power of the Cold Abyss Burst reached an astonishing level.

Damage: -68286!

This strike sent the Boss flying sideways, its snow-white long fur stained crimson.

However, unfortunately, this Boss was a magical attack type, and its intelligence was not lower than Bai Tian’s, so it did not cause freezing or secondary ice burst area damage.

Despite taking Bai Tian’s powerful skill, the Boss still maintained nearly 400,000 health points.

Its steps seemed a bit staggered, and just as it turned to flee...

”Want to escape? No way!”

Bai Tian showed no weakness; he leaped out like Tarzan, jumping onto the Boss’s back and tightly choking its neck with both hands.

The Boss, with its neck constricted, screamed in shock and anger, struggling desperately, its head with the blue single horn swinging left and right, trying to throw Bai Tian off.

But Bai Tian had pulled out all the stops; he knew that once he let go, with the Boss’s full speed, he would have no chance of catching it again.

Although the Boss struggled frantically, it still couldn’t shake Bai Tian off. Its four hooves, wrapped in Blue Star Flames, suddenly began to run with all its might.

A ”whoosh” sound rang out, as if a storm was coming.

The oncoming gale made it impossible for Bai Tian to keep his eyes open.

The Boss running at full speed was as fast as a car speeding on a highway, reaching at least 150 mph.

Bai Tian couldn’t see anything; he only felt the wind whistling in his ears.

Worried about being thrown off, Bai Tian closed his eyes and gripped the Boss’s neck tightly.

Bai Tian knew this was a contest of endurance; he had to give it his all to defeat this powerful Boss.

Bai Tian steeled his heart and suddenly bit down hard on the Boss’s neck, which was covered in thick white fur.

The Boss cried out in pain and anger, but it didn’t stop; instead, it ran even faster and more violently.

Because Bai Tian was holding on so tightly and lying flat on the Boss’s back, the Boss couldn’t attack him. It could only run wildly, jumping and weaving everywhere.

At this moment, Bai Tian felt as if he were flying through the air, just like on a Roller Coaster at Happy Valley—the body is flying through the sky, while the soul is chasing behind.

But even so, Bai Tian still firmly hugged the Boss’s neck, refusing to let go even if he died.

After an unknown amount of time, the dizzy Bai Tian finally felt the Boss’s speed slow down.

At this point, he barely opened his eyes and found that he had been taken by the Boss to a deserted desert.

The Boss was exhausted, its speed getting slower and slower.

Bai Tian took the opportunity to pull himself together and launched another Cold Abyss Burst at the Boss.

The Boss screamed in pain, its health plummeted, and it finally collapsed in the desert, weakly carrying Bai Tian.

Bai Tian desperately wanted a mount and was afraid the Boss would have even the slightest chance to escape.

He still tightly hugged the Boss’s neck, continuously launching attacks.

The Boss seemed completely paralyzed with exhaustion; it was powerless to resist and let Bai Tian attack.

After a period of continuous attacks, the Boss’s hundreds of thousands of life points were finally ground down to the critical line by Bai Tian.

Seeing the green tameable icon appear above the Boss’s head, the string tightly wound in Bai Tian’s heart finally relaxed.

The Boss lying on the ground now seemed to have accepted its fate; it remained motionless, with only faint inhalations from its mouth and nostrils.

”Horse, no, Big Boss!”

After taking several deep breaths, Bai Tian spoke gently to the Boss.

”Give me a chance to be my mount—no, to be my, Bai Tian’s, partner.”

”Don’t worry, I definitely won’t mistreat you.”

This was the first time Bai Tian didn’t want to enjoy the rich experience and drop rates a Boss brought; he only hoped this Boss could become his mount.

Bai Tian didn’t know if the Boss could understand him, but he immediately tried to tame it.

Amidst Bai Tian’s apprehensive and nervous mood, the system prompt finally came—

”(Ding-dong!)”

”(Taming successful!)”

”(Congratulations to player Brilliant for successfully taming a wild creature to become an exclusive mount. You have triggered a system announcement. Would you like to broadcast it with your real name?)”

Oh yeah!

It worked!

Bai Tian jumped up in excitement.

Immediately after, a striking golden system announcement, like a Brilliant star, shone before the eyes of all players in the Da Xia Server Region.

”(Ding-dong!)”

”(Congratulations to player [Brilliant] for taming the Second Transfer Elite Boss [Ancestral Return Strange Horse], making it an exclusive mount.)”

”(As the first player in the Great Xia Region to tame a wild creature and own a mount, you are rewarded: Level +1, Luck +2, Reputation +200, Mount Soul Stone: 1!)”

”(The system officially opens the mount function for the entire server!)”

This announcement was like a stone causing a thousand ripples; the players in the Great Xia Region instantly boiled with excitement...
