A God-tier Counter-damage Priest, I am the Master!

28: Discover hidden mapKiss Kiss Little White and the others were perhaps intimidated by Bai Tian’s strength, to the point that Bai Tian spent two hours farming monsters in the canyon without anyone daring to cause trouble.

Bai Tian was happy to enjoy the peace, gathering herbs while he farmed monsters.

By now, he had already collected 6 stacks of [hundred sweet grass] in his bag, which was more than enough.

Having not encountered any new spiritual herbs, Bai Tian was planning to change maps to gather the next ingredient.

Suddenly, a peculiar fragrance wafted through the air.

Bai Tian followed the scent, slowly searching through the misty canyon.

After walking for a while, a gust of wind suddenly blew against his face, swirling the white mist away as the fragrance in the air grew stronger.

Bai Tian sensed danger.

A massive creature resembling a black-patterned demonic butterfly swooped down from mid-air.

It turned out the scent in the air was emanating from this monster.

— [Magic Spotted Butterfly]!

(master-grade Monster)

Level: 18

HP: 42000

Attack: 771

Dual Defense: 380

Skill: Weakness

The Magic Spotted Butterfly’s attack speed was extremely fast; Bai Tian felt a sharp pain in his arm and immediately took damage: -642!

”(You have been affected by the Weakness effect; all attributes are reduced by 10% for 30 seconds.)”

The Magic Spotted Butterfly’s attack carried a Weakness effect. After dealing 642 damage to Bai Tian, it was hit by the 40x Rebound: -25680 HP.

master-grade monsters are quite fierce!

For any other player, except for Class and Warriors, taking a hit from a Magic Spotted Butterfly would likely result in death nine times out of ten.

Bai Tian was in no hurry to counterattack. He raised his hand and cast a double-amplified [Cold Abyss Blessing] on himself.

Instantly, his attack, defense, attack speed, and movement speed all increased by 40%.

He hadn’t used this skill before because he was afraid his defense would be too high, which would affect the 40x Rebound effect.

While Bai Tian was buffing himself, the Magic Spotted Butterfly pounced again.

Damage: -590!

40x Rebound: -23600!

The Magic Spotted Butterfly let out a mournful cry as its health hit zero. Its body burst apart, and it fell to the ground dead.

— ”(Ding-dong!)”

”(You have killed a master-grade monster [Magic Spotted Butterfly] while being 5 levels lower. Gained Experience: +540, Bonus Experience: +108!)”

The experience points from this master-grade Magic Spotted Butterfly were decent, and it also dropped dozens of copper coins.

Based on Bai Tian’s experience, once a master-grade monster appeared on a map, there would certainly be many more.

Moreover, there was a high probability that a Boss-grade monster would be nearby.

Could there be a hidden boss in this canyon that wasn’t marked on the Live Map?

At this thought, Bai Tian’s eyes lit up. He perked up and continued exploring forward.

Over the next while, he encountered one or even several Magic Spotted Butterflies attacking him every few moments.

Ordinary teams wouldn’t be able to handle these master-grade Magic Spotted Butterflies.

Unfortunately for them, they had run into Bai Tian, who possessed a hidden Priest Class.

Ten minutes later, Bai Tian was surprised to find that the mist ahead had cleared, and his vision became bright.

The surroundings became filled with the sounds of birds and the scent of flowers, and even the amount of [hundred sweet grass] growing there increased.

— ”(Ding-dong!)”

”(Congratulations, player Brilliant, you have discovered a hidden map.)”

As expected, this really was a hidden map not marked on the Live Map.

That meant the chances of a Boss being here would be greatly increased.

Bai Tian grew excited.

Bai Tian continued his exploration, moving cautiously with every step, for fear of missing any important clues.

His eyes were as sharp as an eagle’s, not letting a single detail escape him.

Suddenly, his eyes lit up as he spotted a fiery-red, ivy-like spiritual herb growing on an ancient tree that looked like a coiled dragon.

”Huh!”

A spiritual herb!

— [Blazing Blood Vine]!

(Rank 1 Spiritual Herb)!

This was exactly the second ingredient for refining the blood fusing bone strengthening pill. How wonderful!

Bai Tian was in a great mood.

But an even greater surprise was yet to come. Bai Tian’s eyes flickered as he suddenly saw a palm-sized Magic Spotted Butterfly slowly flying onto the [Blazing Blood Vine].

This little Magic Spotted Butterfly was extremely unique.

— [Juvenile Magic Spotted Butterfly]!

(A catchable wild creature.)

Level: 1!

(Killing adult Magic Spotted Butterflies has a chance to drop a Magic Spotted Butterfly Sealing Card, which can be used to catch a Level 1 Juvenile Magic Spotted Butterfly as a pet.)

— Hiss!

A pet!

It had been a week since the open beta of [Nine Heavens], but he hadn’t heard of anyone having a pet yet.

His luck had exploded. If he could catch this little Magic Spotted Butterfly as a pet, it would be the very first pet in the entire server.

He didn’t know if its utility would be great, but its value as the first pet would definitely not be lower than the purple bow he had sold.

Thinking of this, Bai Tian’s palms trembled with excitement.

Since he hadn’t found a Magic Spotted Butterfly Sealing Card yet, he wouldn’t touch this little butterfly for now.

Bai Tian already considered it his own. After a single glance, he carefully bypassed it, planning to return once he had a sealing card.

Soon, a large area filled with exotic plants blooming with bright yellow flowers appeared ahead.

Above the yellow flowers, a large number of adult Magic Spotted Butterflies were gathering nectar.

There were quite a lot of Magic Spotted Butterflies here, at least three hundred or more.

Once Bai Tian was ready, he first applied his buff again, increasing his attack, defense, attack speed, and movement speed by 40%.

Then, he launched a double-powered [Cold Abyss Burst] at an adult Magic Spotted Butterfly on the edge.

This striking streak of frigid air flew out, dealing considerable damage to the first Magic Spotted Butterfly: -4920!

It then froze the target, and with a ”boom,” an ice explosion effect was triggered, engulfing dozens of Magic Spotted Butterflies within a 10-meter radius.

It dealt massive area-of-effect explosive damage that would stun any Mage: -9840!

Bai Tian’s move immediately hurt over thirty adult Magic Spotted Butterflies, and they swarmed toward him in a rage.

Bai Tian was not flustered. He locked onto another Magic Spotted Butterfly from 30 yards away and launched a series of basic attacks.

Bai Tian’s accuracy had improved significantly; he could now maintain a hit rate of over 95% for ranged attacks.

As the thirty-plus Magic Spotted Butterflies closed in, Bai Tian consumed an intermediate mana potion while simultaneously casting an enhanced [Cold Abyss Shield] that could absorb 80,000 points of damage.

The thirty-plus adult Magic Spotted Butterflies frantically attacked the shield.

Shield absorbed damage: -509, -591, -592, -591... After a round of attacks from the thirty-three Magic Spotted Butterflies, the Cold Abyss Shield had lost less than twenty thousand shield points.

Furthermore, while the Cold Abyss Shield was active, Bai Tian could resist most crowd-control effects, so the Magic Spotted Butterfly’s passive Weakness effect didn’t work at all.

The adult Magic Spotted Butterflies only had 42000 HP in total. After their second round of attacking Bai Tian, they were directly killed by the Rebound, all of them dying.

Bai Tian instantly harvested 21384 experience points, along with several hundred copper coins and another 33 points of Mana.

Taking advantage of the 6 seconds remaining on his Cold Abyss Shield, Bai Tian hurried to attract a second wave of Magic Spotted Butterflies.

He successfully harvested the second wave before the Cold Abyss Shield disappeared.

Although the monsters in [Nine Heavens] had become smarter—knowing how to ambush and flee—

ordinary monsters usually only chose to run when their health was nearly depleted.

They weren’t as intelligent as bosses.

The cooldown for Cold Abyss Shield was 15 seconds, but casting it with several times the skill’s power consumed a massive amount of resources.

The intermediate mana potion wasn’t enough to sustain him, so Bai Tian could only farm two waves of Magic Spotted Butterflies at a time before hiding in the distance to recover his mana.

He only started attacking again once his status was fully restored.
