I'm Not Afraid of My Wife Being 30 Years Old, I'm Afraid of Her Knowing Everything

58: My cousin’s troublesAs the question was asked,

The shop assistant took special notice of Jiang Hao and the two women, feeling curious in her heart:

“These three are so strange. This Handsome Young Man in the middle is actually holding two women who are clearly older than him. What’s their relationship? Are they relatives, siblings? Or...”

This shop assistant had worked here for quite some time and was considered well-informed.

She pondered in her mind that they might not be siblings, but rather some kind of special relationship.

“If it’s really what I’m thinking, this young man has quite unique tastes, actually liking women older than himself. But then again, these two women’s figures and looks are top-tier; even I, as a woman, am envious. No man could resist them.”

Despite having many thoughts, the shop assistant didn’t dare to say anything out loud.

After Jiang Hao ushered Xiao Mi and Wen Jiajia into the Chanel store,

He instructed the smiling shop assistant, who had a good image and temperament:

“Take these two sisters of mine to pick out some clothes. Hmm, don’t worry about the price, as long as it fits them.”

The shop assistant’s eyes lit up upon hearing Jiang Hao’s words, and she quickly said:

“Alright, sir, I understand.”

She then made a gesturing motion to Xiao Mi and Wen Jiajia:

“Ladies, please follow me. I’ll first take you to see our store’s new summer arrivals.”

Xiao Mi and Wen Jiajia were feeling nervous and excited at this moment.

It wasn’t that they hadn’t visited a Chanel store before.

Precisely because they had, they knew the consumption here was not low.

Buying a few sets of clothes casually would cost tens of thousands or even a hundred thousand yuan.

The two were momentarily unsure whether to go in or not, feeling a bit hesitant and conflicted.

Seeing this, Jiang Hao pushed Xiao Mi and Wen Jiajia a step forward:

“Don’t just stand there, go in and pick. Don’t worry about the price, pick boldly. I’m paying for your shopping today. Don’t try to save money for me; I don’t care about this bit of money.”

Since he had put it that way,

If Xiao Mi and Wen Jiajia continued to hesitate, it would be somewhat disrespectful to Jiang Hao.

It would leave Jiang Hao with a bad impression of them pretending to be overly reserved.

Wen Jiajia took a deep breath and grabbed Xiao Mi’s hand:

“Let’s go, Mi Mi. Since Hao said so, let’s go in and browse first to see if there’s anything suitable.”

Xiao Mi looked back at Jiang Hao, her eyes full of excitement:

“Hao, then... we’ll head in first. You must be tired from driving just now, so go rest for a bit. We’ll come find you once we’ve picked everything out.”

This woman...

She certainly knows how to be considerate!

Jiang Hao gave a slight smile:

“Alright, enjoy your shopping. I’ll go make a phone call first.”

Xiao Mi and Wen Jiajia were led away by the shop assistant to look at clothes.

Another slightly older shop assistant came over to Jiang Hao and said:

“Sir, we have a VIP lounge in the store with various flavored drinks provided free of charge. Please follow me this way to rest.”

Jiang Hao nodded and followed the shop assistant to the lounge.

“Sir, the drinks and snacks on this menu are available for free tasting. What would you like to order?”

Jiang Hao glanced at the menu.

There were various drinks and snacks like coffee, black tea, green tea, milk tea, and fruit platters.

“Just a cup of iced black tea for me, nothing else is needed.”

The shop assistant nodded:

“Alright, sir, please wait a moment.”

After the shop assistant left,

Jiang Hao picked up his phone and opened the chat window for his Older Female Cousin Xia He.

While he was driving earlier,

Older Female Cousin Xia He had sent a message asking if Jiang Hao was free tomorrow.

Jiang Hao hadn’t had the chance to reply to the message yet.

Now, taking advantage of the interval while Xiao Mi and Wen Jiajia were looking at clothes, he made a call to check in.

The call was quickly connected, and Jiang Hao spoke first:

“Cousin, are you busy?”

Xia He’s voice came through the phone:

“Hao, I am indeed a bit busy right now. I’ll keep it short. If you’re free tomorrow, come over to my place. There’s something I’m not sure how to handle, and I want to discuss it with you in person.”

Hearing that something was up, Jiang Hao asked:

“Cousin, is it a work matter or a private matter?”

Xia He didn’t hide it from Jiang Hao:

“It’s like this. That gambler from my hometown and his son are coming to Chengdu the day after tomorrow for a medical check-up, and they want me to provide a sum of money. I don’t know if I should give it or not. The situation is a bit complicated, so I want to discuss it with you in person and have you help me decide.”

Hearing this, Jiang Hao’s brow furrowed slightly.

Older Female Cousin Xia He’s gambler father wasn’t her biological father, but her Gambling Addict Stepfather.

Her mother had married him when Xia He was in junior high school.

This stepfather only cared about his own biological son and didn’t care about Xia He, his stepdaughter.

His attitude towards Xia He was extremely poor, the kind where he wasn’t even willing to pay for her tuition.

Because of this,

Xia He had been earning her own tuition money since junior high, all the way through university.

After graduating from university,

Her stepfather would use various excuses to ask Xia He for money. If she didn’t give it, he would bully Xia He’s mother to threaten her.

Considering her mother’s situation, Xia He could only swallow her anger and hand over her salary for her stepfather to squander, leaving very little for herself and living a tight life.

Ever since her mother passed away,

Xia He hadn’t given her stepfather another cent, which led to an exceptionally poor relationship with her Gambling Addict Stepfather.

On a few occasions, he had even laid hands on Xia He.

The reason Xia He had quit her job in her hometown and come to Chengdu to find Jiang Hao was largely related to the family environment created by her Gambling Addict Stepfather.

Jiang Hao hadn’t expected that Gambling Addict Stepfather to actually follow her to Chengdu. He was truly like a ghost that wouldn’t leave. An inexplicable anger rose in Jiang Hao’s heart:

“This old geezer. This time, I’ll definitely make him pay the price. The women I, Jiang Hao, have claimed, I will definitely protect them and won’t let them suffer any harm.”

Clenching his fist, Jiang Hao told Xia He:

“Cousin, I’ll come find you tomorrow. We’ll resolve this matter together. It’s time to put an end to this once and for all.”

Hearing Jiang Hao’s words, Xia He’s tone was excited and joyful:

“That’s great. I’ll feel much more at ease with you by my side. Oh, right, I’ve been out promoting the studio these past two days and am temporarily staying at my classmate’s rental. Call me when you’re coming, and I’ll pick you up. Also...”

Before Xia He could finish, a middle-aged woman’s voice interrupted her:

“Young lady, are you really a graduate of Sichuan University? Can I see your graduation certificate?”

Hearing this voice, Jiang Hao knew his cousin was busy.

“Cousin, why don’t you get back to work? We’ll talk more when we meet tomorrow.”

Xia He quickly said:

“Alright, alright. Hao, I’ll hang up now. We’ll talk tomorrow.”

After ending the call with Xia He,

Jiang Hao picked up the iced black tea the shop assistant had brought and took a small sip.

He pondered how to resolve Xia He’s situation properly once and for all.

While Jiang Hao was thinking,

Xiao Mi came over to him holding a piece of clothing, saying with a smile on her face:

“Hao, I’ve picked out a piece of clothing. Why don’t you help me see how it looks on me?”
