Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 693: Tyler’s Response

Fate was such a common word to say when one wanted to blindly believe in coincidence or a motive for some action.

Most people never wanted to take responsibility for something and would usually brush it aside and claim it was fate.

It was fate that they met so they should be together.

It was fate that they were destined for failure, so no effort would be enough.

Blah blah blah!

That was how the word fate was always misused. Many knew that, but none bothered to correct it simply because of one reason: convenience.

Yes, it was extremely convenient to use such a word to defend, explain, or do things without taking responsibility.

And today, Xu Feng would gladly use this term to his advantage.

”Prior to my return to Star Falls City, I happened to be unexpectedly teleported to Skyland City. Do you know what that means, Carmen? It means itʼs fate that I need to do something there.” Xu Feng explained and looked like some transcendent sage.

”Back then, I was still confused by the situation, but after seeing MISTʼs action. It appears that I have been warned by fate quite early on. How comical that I ignored such a fate and resulted in almost destruction were it not for the Bossʼ appearance!”

Xu Fengʼs monologue seemed profound and deep— to the point that Carmen mistakenly believed him wholeheartedly without understanding much.

Nevertheless, Carmen agreed with his statement.

”Youʼre right, Guild Leader. How could I have missed this simple fact? It was definitely fate in the work that MIST was chosen as the target for me to kill the chicken to warn the rest. But because my action wasnʼt adequate, I failed to prevent this fate from happening.” She clasped her hands and said.

”...”

Silent, Xu Fengʼs eyes were glued to her, almost as if he was impressed by her.

However, the truth couldnʼt be far off.

ʼHoly crap! Iʼm spouting nonsense to make the declaration look legit and reasonable but she actually provided even more reason to back me up.ʼ He inwardly exclaimed, feeling astounded.

Rather than impressed, it was more safe to say that Xu Feng wanted to praise her bullshit and nonsense remarks.

As expected of the demoness that he knew in the past timeline.

The demoness could always come up with reasons for her massacre and those who were victims would somehow find it hard to even refute it. Of course, they believed her reason was nonsense, but they just couldnʼt find any logical point to make any objection.

Sometime later, Carmen asked, ”So I should go ahead and make the declaration of war through what channel? OneManMediaʼs stream or Game Forum post?”

Hearing such a question made Xu Feng remember the players had yet to understand the concept of a proper war declaration.

ʼAh right, Carmen wouldnʼt know about this aspect.ʼ He smiled awkwardly, having forgotten that this concept was something a player had to discover by themselves. It was eventually discovered in the later half, but there was no point in concealing something that would be exposed anyway.

”Actually, you can take a break and check out the items that weʼve looted. If you want anything, then you can exchange them at a 20% discounted price.” Xu Feng changed his mind and decided to do things himself.

”Is that so?” Initially surprised, Carmen quickly got over it and nodded her head. ”By the way, Iʼve received reports about Tylerʼs action.”

”Oh, what is that dumb heir up to?” Amused, Xu Feng would be alarmed if Tyler remained inactive and idle.

As the heir and person in charge of MIST, there was no way Tyler could ignore such a deadly problem.

”Um, he made a post stating that he was unaware of the guildʼs affair and had no idea that this kind of incident occurred. In the end, he shifts the blame to PotionHoarder who acted without permission. ” Carmen explained, her expression filled with disgust.

Nothing was more disgusting to her than people like Tyler who shift the blame on others once everything was messed up. Yet when things went well, they would also be the first to jump in and claim the credit for themselves.

”Guild Leader, please make sure I get to be the one to kill him once we go to war.” She continued, expressing her desire and urge to kill such a scumbag.

”I got it. He shall be your prey and no one can snatch that from you.” Xu Feng smiled bitterly. The aura that Carmen displayed was quite threatening, to say the least. He had no intention of even trying to reject her request and earn her ire in the meantime.

ʼOh Tyler, of all the dumb choices you could have made, you chose the worst one. I canʼt even pray for you because itʼs guaranteed that youʼre doomed.ʼ

Sometime later, Carmen exited the office, leaving him alone.

As he dealt with some of the important matters, he could now finally take a step back and reflect on the overall outcome.

Needless to say, Xu Feng was rather disappointed and dissatisfied with the result.

His fingers tapped on the desk and pondered over Hundred Ghostʼs message.

Prior to the siege occurring, the Reaver Guild initially wanted to apologize but then delayed it after receiving news of their crisis.

Thus, the necessary funding that Xu Feng had planned in advance was halted.

Without that funding, the timing was no longer right, causing him to lose out on many opportunities.

And reading the message sent by Hundred Ghost simply made Xu Feng more infuriated than ever.

Since Hundred Ghost had practically been tamed by him, the former revealed everything with evidence to support it.

”You want to make amends now after knowing Eclipse Nova managed to single-handedly suppress the siege? Do you seriously take me for a beggar, Gao Zhong?” Xu Feng sneered coldly, his eyes narrowed.

When comparing Gao Zhongʼs actions with Tylerʼs, it goes without saying that Xu Feng despised and hated the most. After all, Tyler was more or less manipulated into targeting his guild due to Gao Zhongʼs supposed leak of information.
