Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 566: Tavern Buff

Lightning Blade was instantly overwhelmed with fear and pressure upon getting questioned by Xu Feng.

It wasnʼt just him who was overwhelmed, even the other unrelated players were dumbfounded by the situation. They felt their breathing heavy as they wondered what was going on.

The NPC guards arrived at the tavern in an imposing manner, but within the blink of an eye, they became so respectful— to the point of looking like a bootlicker to Xu Feng.

Afterward, the detained player was released, but then it appeared that it was merely the start of another intense scene.

”I-Iʼm sorry for being late, honorary elder.” Very quickly, Lightning Blade rushed forward to Xu Feng and knelt on the ground.

”Please forgive me,” He added, bowing with his forehead pressed to the ground.

Seeing this scene, Allison was about to open her mouth to speak, only to be stopped by Xu Feng who had his hand raised to her. It was a sign to indicate to her to not interrupt.

Silently nodding, Allison no longer tried to intervene and simply watched the scene unfold.

”Youʼre sorry and want my forgiveness huh.” Xu Feng tapped his fingers on the table and smirked. ”Are you not even going to give me an excuse or a story of why you were so late to report to me?” Read exclusive chapters at My Virtual Library Empire

Still with his head bowed, Lightning Blade responded, ”Whatever the excuse, I was late and the fault is mine. I accept whatever punishment there is for me.”

”Oh, and here I thought you might try to give a defense for yourself or even try to ask for your punishment to be retracted. After all, it was your cousin who did the misdeed and not you, Lightning Blade.” Xu Feng pressed on.

”I dare not deny any responsibility in this matter. If it werenʼt for my boasting, then my cousin wouldnʼt have the guts to smear the Vanguard Guild name.ʼ

”Very well.”

When Xu Feng said that, almost everyone thought the matter was resolved. Unfortunately, they were extremely wrong.

”Keep kneeling here with your head bowed until I say you can get up. If you canʼt endure it, then feel free to stand up and leave. But once you do, you are no longer a part of the Vanguard Guild.” Xu Feng declared solemnly before turning his attention to Allison.

”Letʼs head to the room that Iʼve rented. Iʼve got things to discuss with you.”

”Huh… right now?” Startled, Allison was still trying to comprehend the situation, finding it very baffling.

Of course, the other players were more naughty in their thoughts, having believed Xu Feng was going to enjoy some fun time with a lovely woman.

They were envious and angry at how arrogant Xu Feng could be without any repercussions.

Naturally, that was precisely the effect Xu Feng was looking for.

Since Lin Feng was known as the serious type, then his Cool Wind persona naturally had to be something different. Otherwise, people could easily discern that the two of them could be the same, albeit with some unexplained method of changing oneʼs username and status screen.

”What are you waiting for, Eversoul?” Xu Feng called out again when he noticed Allison not moving.

”Nothing…” A second later, Allison stood up and followed Xu Feng upstairs, leaving Lightning Blade alone.

Some of the players in the crowd were still amused by the situation, with some going as far as snapping pictures and posting them in the Game Forum.

– Shocking News! Lightning Blade of the Vanguard Guild was forced to kneel and bowed like a servant!

– Cool Wind, the honorary elder displayed his authority to the max!

– No bullying is allowed in the Vanguard Guild, but members of them are an exception!

Numerous types of posts were being displayed in the Game Forum as they quickly spread all across the region. Nearly everyone was starting to be confused by the method conducted by the Vanguard Guild.

Although some of the replies in the comment post were supportive of Xu Fengʼs action, there were equally more saying that this was too much. After all, Lightning Blade was one of the raid members in their large-scale raid, and he wasnʼt even directly involved in the bullying.

To shame such a guild member publicly was really dampening the others in staying loyal to them.

”Was it really worth the action?” Allison asked softly, her eyes browsing through the current excited Game Forum. They were now in the room, and she had received the Tavern EXP buff, but despite this, she was not joyful at all.

”Iʼm sure everyone is now probably talking badly about the Vanguard Guildʼs punishment.” Xu Feng remained unfazed by the situation.

Allison furrowed her brows and frowned slightly. ”Wait, so if you knew this was going to happen, then why did you do it? For a second there, I thought you were a spy for some other guild to ruin the Vanguard Guild.”

Amused by her remark, Xu Feng lay on the bed with his hands behind his head and asked, ”Oh, and why did you stop believing Iʼm actually a spy sent by some other guild?”

”Because Guild Leader Lin Feng isnʼt foolish to give someone else this much power without verification or confidence in them.” Unamused, Allison held a deadpan expression and wondered why he even asked such a dumb question.

”Alright, Iʼll tell you a bit of my reason out of generosity.” He chuckled and stopped teasing her. ”There are two reasons that I did such an act. One of them is naturally to prevent some people from trying to use our Guild Name to do evil and ruin our reputation. But thatʼs not my main objective.”

He then paused for a second and stared at her. ”Do you know what happens to people when they find success after struggling for a long time?”

”They celebrate in joy?” A bit taken aback, Allison wasnʼt anticipating another life question.

Nodding in agreement, Xu Feng approved the answer, but also not quite.

”Naturally, they will celebrate in joy, but afterward, their ego will grow. And people are quite funny. Some are able to resist the temptation of success and remain the same, but some are unable to. They succumb to their success, and soon, they think they are above everyone else. Their behavior and demeanor underwent a massive change— to the point you will no longer recognize them.” He responded solemnly.

What he wanted to achieve was to ensure that just because his members achieved some success, didnʼt mean they could just act arrogantly and place themselves above others.
