Global Exploration: Starting from Decrypting Chernobyl

22: Dying Rottweiler!“Smack!”

Just as Wu Tian was pondering how to strengthen his abilities after unlocking the genetic lock, the chubby man beside him clapped his hands excitedly!

“It’s done!”

“Boss!”

“You drank the tea I offered, so from now on, you are my master!”

“Master, please accept your disciple’s bow!”

“...”

Wu Tian’s mouth twitched.

“Get… get up.”

“Mhm!”

The chubby man’s excitement hadn’t faded; he eagerly circled Wu Tian, asking,

“Master, do you have any basic martial arts moves you can teach me?”

“I can endure hardship!”

“I will definitely work hard to learn them!”

“Mhm…”

Wu Tian nodded. Since the misunderstanding had already occurred, he was too lazy to explain and, after some thought, decided to continue with this benevolent lie.

“Chubby, the essence of martial arts lies in perseverance and practice!”

“How about this!”

“You first train your stamina. Search this church thoroughly and see if there’s any food left by previous people.”

“Then we can discuss what to do next.”

“Alright!”

The chubby man nodded vigorously, without a hint of doubt.

He turned and began searching the far end of the church.

Wu Tian, meanwhile, began studying the genetic lock’s training mechanism, wondering if, with timely water replenishment, the genetic lock state could be maintained in an open state… Half an hour quickly passed.

The chubby man finished searching the first and second floors of the church. Although he found no food, he made another discovery… “Boss!”

The chubby man rushed down from the second floor.

“Boss, look what I found!”

“Hm?”

“What did you find?”

Wu Tian was testing how long he could continuously keep the genetic lock open; four or five empty bottles were already on the ground—these were the water he had consumed to maintain the genetic lock state.

Half an hour!

Not too long, not too short, but this was already his body’s limit even with constant water replenishment.

Wu Tian nodded with satisfaction and closed the genetic lock.

He stood up and looked at the chubby man.

“Heh heh!”

The chubby man grinned, stepping aside!

“A Rottweiler!”

“Hm?”

Wu Tian was startled.

Behind the chubby man, a giant, pure black dog appeared. It was about half a person’s height, around 1.6 meters long, but its eyes were a normal brown, indicating it hadn’t mutated.

However… this dog seemed old; most of its fur had fallen out.

Its pointed ears drooped listlessly.

Its shoulders were hunched, and it was panting heavily.

“Heh heh, Boss!”

“This dog is quite old, but it hasn’t mutated, and it still has a lot of meat on it, heh heh…”

“Don’t we have dinner now?”

“...”

Wu Tian was stunned.

“Damn, you Ulan Country people eat dog meat too?”

“Ah…”

The chubby man nodded.

“We don’t usually eat it, but isn’t this a critical moment?”

“There’s no other way, it’s out of necessity!”

“No.”

Wu Tian decisively shook his head.

“As for food, we can go hungry for a night. At worst, we’ll find food tomorrow; we won’t die.”

“But we can’t eat this dog!”

“Why?”

The chubby man was puzzled.

He didn’t understand. They were already out of supplies.

A dog meat feast tonight would replenish their strength and improve their meals.

Wouldn’t that be great?

“You don’t understand. While I usually don’t have many principles in how I do things, there are three things I don’t eat.”

“Three things you don’t eat?”

The chubby man scratched his head.

“Mhm.”

Wu Tian continued.

“First, I don’t eat turtles, because they are filial.”

“Second, I don’t eat swans, because they are chaste!”

“Third, I don’t eat dog meat, because they are loyal!”

“This is my bottom line. Unless it’s a matter of life and death, if I have to go hungry for a meal, I will. I won’t eat these things for the sake of my palate!”

“Unless absolutely necessary!”

“...”

“Sigh…”

After hearing Wu Tian’s words, the chubby man sighed immediately.

“Alright.”

“Then I’ll let it go.”

Saying that.

The chubby man led the elderly Rottweiler towards the church door, opened it, and prepared to release the old dog.

Suddenly!

The elderly Rottweiler turned its head and looked at Wu Tian.

It slowly ambled over to him.

It rubbed its head against Wu Tian’s pant leg.

“Hm?”

“What’s wrong?”

“Woof!”

“Woof woof!”

The Rottweiler barked twice at Wu Tian, then firmly bit Wu Tian’s pant leg and walked towards the staircase leading to the second floor.

【Your words were heard by this Rottweiler, who has lived for an unknown period. Moved by your self-restraint and kindness, it wants to lead you to its hidden food stash and invites you to feast!】

“...”

Is this Rottweiler a spirit now?

It understood what I said?

Wu Tian, who was about to pry open the Rottweiler’s teeth, changed his mind. Following the Rottweiler’s pull, he walked step by step with it towards the stairs.

“Boss?”

The chubby man was somewhat confused.

“Less talk!”

“Follow me.”

Wu Tian nodded at the chubby man behind him and followed the Rottweiler step by step up to the second floor.

The second floor was where the former church bishops slept and rested.

It was divided into several small compartments, each a small one-bedroom apartment, and the doors to the rooms were all locked.

“Boss.”

“These rooms are all locked, we can’t get in.”

“I just spent a long time prying open two rooms, but there was nothing inside…”

Crack!

Just as the chubby man was speaking.

The Rottweiler bit open the floor lock on a room door, then nudged it with its head and slipped inside.

The chubby man was dumbfounded.

He rushed forward, clutching the large lock still hanging on the door, and examined it.

“Damn it…”

“So this thing was fake.”

“No wonder I spent so long prying it, the lock opened, but I still couldn’t get through this broken door!”

“Enough said.”

Wu Tian walked into the room, grinning.

“No matter how much you explain, it won’t hide the fact that you’re not even as good as a dog!”

The chubby man: … “Hahahahaha…”

“Not even as good as a dog, really?”

“Don’t say it, when this dog first appeared, I noticed it was unusual. See, I was right!”

“Showing off now, are we?”

“Why do I feel like this dog is repaying a kindness? The Host didn’t eat it, so is it going to lead the Host to find food?”

“Blind guess, this room is full of food!”

“Bullshit!”

“In this room, forget full, if there’s any food, I’ll stream myself eating…”

Creak!

Just as the Fans were furiously discussing.

Wu Tian and the chubby man, led by the Rottweiler, walked into the room. What lay before them… was a room full of smoked meat, ham, and snacks!

And even… a few bottles of high-proof liquor!

“Hm?”

“That Fan from before, what did you say you’d stream yourself eating?”

“Heh heh…”

“A bowl of instant noodles, a bowl of instant noodles!”
