Global Exploration: Starting from Decrypting Chernobyl

7: The railway bridge surrounded by mutant creatures!“Huh?”

Wu Tian, who was repeatedly examining the photos, was startled. He then lightly released the corner of the photo with his right hand, and the yellowed photo instantly made a soft ‘click’ sound.

It fell off directly!

Behind the photo, a line of black text appeared before everyone.

Wu Tian frowned and leaned in for a closer look.

He softly read the words on the back of the photo aloud.

“On March 1, 1996, we followed a guide from Ulan Country to Chernobyl, a city known as the City of Death. Here, we were attacked… They are indescribable creatures!”

“Let’s just call them Giant Rats for now!”

“These Giant Rats move in packs and are extremely aggressive.”

“Fortunately, their eyesight isn’t very good, so if we’re careful, we can continue to advance!”

“…”

After reading the information recorded in the notebook, Wu Tian’s eyes lit up.

Just as Narrator-kun said, this notebook truly was left behind by the scientists from the three countries who came to explore in the 90s. It contained very detailed information about the entire Chernobyl.

It even recorded the weaknesses of these Giant Rats.

This would be of great help for the upcoming exploration!

“Giant Rats?”

“How can there be such abominations here?”

Rice looked as if he had seen a ghost.

“You haven’t seen them?”

Wu Tian looked at him in confusion.

“Never!”

Rice nodded without hesitation.

“I’ve been a guide here for seven or eight years, and I’ve never heard of such creatures existing.”

“When people mentioned it before, I thought it was just a rumor!”

“This is truly seeing a ghost…”

“…”

“It seems it’s no longer a rumor!”

Wu Tian mused.

“And…”

“There are far more than just these rats!”

Wu Tian continued to flip through several pages of the notebook in his hand. Almost every few pages of text would be followed by one or two photos.

Initially, the photos only showed Giant Rats.

Later, they transformed into various other creatures.

Elk with four unusually sharp antlers, leopards the size of calves, brown bears with hard, pitch-black skin… Approximately seven or eight types of creatures were all present in this notebook!

Wu Tian firmly believed!

If this notebook had been made public sooner.

Then, the secrets within Chernobyl would not still be completely shrouded in a mist!

…It was still daytime in Ulan Country, but the sky in the domestic region had gradually darkened. By the evening rush hour, people were all eating and tuning into the live stream.

Because Wu Tian’s live stream occupied the top recommendation spot on every platform!

So… in just one hour!

The number of viewers in Wu Tian’s live stream surged!

And just as Wu Tian was flipping through the notebook in his live stream, in front of all the viewers… in Dragon Country!

In a conference room of an unknown underground research institute!

Three full rows of researchers in white coats were seated, sitting upright and watching the live stream on a screen in the center of the conference room intently!

“This notebook should be the one Director Zhang Yutian carried in the nineties!”

“What do you all think?”

At the head of the table sat a robust, white-haired elder.

At this moment, he was tapping on the table.

He asked all the researchers behind him.

“This belongs to our Dragon Country!”

“Of course, we must reclaim it!”

“Hmm.”

The elder nodded.

“But…”

“Our technical department has detected that this live stream is on platforms worldwide, which means that those who have seen this notebook and want to obtain it…”

“Are not just us!”

A technician said with a frown.

“Communicate with this young man!”

The elder’s tiger-like eyes gleamed with sternness!

“Do not threaten him with the condition that he is from Dragon Country. Bid directly. No matter the cost, this notebook must be obtained by our Dragon Country!”

“This is not only the relic of the former director!”

“It also possesses immense research value!”

“Understand?”

“…”

“Understood!”

The conference room instantly echoed with the unified shouts of all the Dragon Country researchers. The enormous sound directly caused the tempered glass door of the conference room to tremble slightly!

…“Holy crap, Host, what kind of luck is this? He actually picked up a notebook from the nineties?”

“No!”

Another bullet comment said faintly.

“Didn’t you notice that the fatty sat on it?”

“Hiss…”

“Could it be…”

“This fatty is the Child of Destiny?”

“The Chosen Fatty?”

“Compared to that, didn’t you guys notice just now that besides the rats, all the animals here have also mutated?”

“Does that mean the Host not only has to be careful of radiation but also of animal attacks?”

“The above is correct!”

“Host is in danger…”

…“Let’s go!”

“Let’s be careful. I don’t believe these rats would openly come out during the day!”

Rice grumbled.

He originally thought it was just a simple guiding mission, but he didn’t expect to face these dangerous creatures.

Rice, who had nothing to his name, couldn’t help but feel a little worried!

If he really encountered these creatures… how would he fight them?

“Huh?”

“Let’s go!”

Rice looked back.

He found Wu Tian still standing there, frowning, deep in thought.

“That’s not right…”

Wu Tian gently shook his head.

This notebook, containing research data, was so precious, so why was it left on the railway bridge?

The radiation here wasn’t fatal, could it be… Wu Tian asked urgently.

“Have you been to this railway bridge before, or rather… do people often come here?”

“Ah…”

Rice was stunned.

Then he subconsciously opened his mouth and said.

“No… no!”

“This is a dangerous area with relatively high radiation. Generally, tourists don’t dare to come, and we are also ordered not to approach!”

“Which means…”

Wu Tian’s expression changed.

“No one comes here year-round!”

“Besides us, only that group of scientists from the nineties has been here?!”

Wu Tian’s tone was urgent.

“Yes!”

“What’s wrong?”

Rice nodded blankly.

【You have discovered a crucial notebook left by predecessors near the railway bridge, but because you have threatened the territory of the mutated animals, these mutated creatures have already surrounded your position!】

“Rustle… ”

“Whoosh whoosh…”

Just as Narrator-kun’s voice disappeared from Wu Tian’s mind… in the waist-high weeds around them, sounds of animal fur rubbing against plants could be heard!

“Run!”

Wu Tian’s eyes widened, and he grabbed Rice’s arm.

“Quick!”

“Get out of here!”

Rice also heard the rustling sounds constantly approaching from all directions at this moment. His face turned pale, and he followed Wu Tian, running back the way they came without a word!

Suddenly!

【Your path has been blocked by these creatures, but you found a overturned train car beneath the railway bridge. There, you found a way to fight them!】

“Wait!”

“Go that way!”

Wu Tian didn’t doubt it, and immediately pulled the fatty, rushing in the opposite direction!
