Global Exploration: Starting from Decrypting Chernobyl

6: The mutant rat recorded in the notebook!”Ow!”

”You mean this?”

The plump Rice, following Wu Tian’s movements, also squatted down and looked at the black powder scattered everywhere around them.

He laughed and reached out to grab a slightly larger piece!

”Isn’t this just the dust produced after the explosion?”

”Sigh...”

Saying this, Rice sighed softly.

”The explosion back then was truly powerful. Debris from Reactor No. 4’s walls, ten kilometers away, even flew here. It’s truly...”

”Wait!”

Suddenly!

”Don’t touch that stuff!”

Wu Tian frowned and yelled loudly at Rice.

Rumble... Rice’s portly body shivered. He turned to look at Wu Tian and stammered, ”Wh-what’s... what’s wrong?”

”Why can’t I touch it?”

”...”

”Do you think this gray dust could be cement from Reactor No. 4’s walls?”

Wu Tian asked with a frown.

Rice was dumbfounded.

”If it’s not cement blasted into powder, what is it? Is it the scientists’ foot skin that dried up in the wind here?”

”No.”

Wu Tian shook his head.

”Do you still remember the design of the reactor used at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in 1986?”

”...”

Rice frowned and pondered for a moment.

Then he blurted out,

”Pressure tube graphite-moderated boiling water reactor!”

”This... No!”

Suddenly!

Rice’s expression suddenly turned pale. He pointed at the black debris on the ground, then pointed at Wu Tian, and stammered,

”Could it be...”

”Could these black fragments actually be...”

”Yes!”

Wu Tian nodded heavily.

”These black fragments are precisely the graphite debris produced after the nuclear reactor explosion back then. And this graphite, having been in high-temperature contact with radioactive materials for a long time, the radioactivity on it...”

”Is enough to make your hand fester, then spread throughout your body, and finally lead to death!”

”Oh!”

”Oh my god!”

Rice cried out in lingering fear, then wiped the non-existent cold sweat from his forehead with his radiation suit.

He opened his arms and embraced Wu Tian!

”My dear brother, thank you...”

Bang!

Whoosh!

A large black footprint appeared directly on Rice’s pristine white protective suit.

The latter’s two-hundred-plus-pound body instantly stumbled.

He fell directly to the ground.

”Don’t disgust me!”

”I’m not into that!”

Wu Tian coolly retracted his foot and rolled his eyes at the latter in annoyance.

Then he turned and carefully searched along one side of the railway bridge, looking for any other discoveries.

[You kicked Rice down, but he found that he seemed to have sat on something under his butt that pricked him painfully. You picked it up and saw that it was a notebook from the 90s, from explorations by scientists from three countries!]

”Holy crap!”

Rice had learned many of Dragon Country’s interjections from Wu Tian these past few days.

”What the hell is this thing that’s so hard?”

”My butt!”

”My butt is going to be poked through!”

”Damn it!”

”...”

”Wait!”

Wu Tian suddenly yelled at Rice again, extending his hand, his eyes filled with tension as he stared at the latter.

”Wh-what’s wrong again?”

Rice was startled.

”Don’t move, let me take a look!”

”It’s very possible that what’s under your butt is a whole piece of graphite. If that’s true, you’re in trouble...”

Wu Tian approached Rice, earnestly trying to fool him.

”Huh?”

Rice was stunned!

Fragmented graphite was already deadly, and now a whole piece of graphite?

”Then what should I do?”

Rice had originally wanted to wiggle his butt to make himself more comfortable, and then take out the thing under his butt.

But now, hearing Wu Tian’s shout,

he felt uncertain.

He could only endure the pain in his butt cheeks, not daring to move, waiting for rescue!

...”No way, this fatty won the lottery so quickly?”

”Heh heh, I told you!”

”Bringing this fatty along is purely a burden. If he hadn’t reached out to hug the Host in such a dangerous place, would he have been kicked away by the Host?”

”...”

”Brother upstairs, your thinking is very unique!”

”Everyone, stop arguing for now. Didn’t you hear what the Host just said? This fatty might have sat on a block of graphite. My uncle said that if there really is a block of graphite under this fatty’s butt, even after 35 years, even if he’s wearing a protective suit, he won’t escape death!”

”Not to mention the Host is now going to grab the graphite block with his bare hands!”

”Everyone, quickly call for help!”

”...”

”Your uncle knows a lot!”

Just as the bullet comments were varied, with some viewers complaining about the fatty causing trouble, and others worrying about the Host’s and the fatty’s lives,

Wu Tian... reached his hand into the gap between Rice’s butt and the railway track.

”Click!”

A hard texture was transmitted to Wu Tian’s palm.

Under the breathless attention of everyone in the live broadcast room,

Wu Tian didn’t hesitate, he suddenly grabbed the hard object and pulled with force!

”Rip!”

”Poof!”

Everyone looked closely!

A notebook with a reddish-purple cover and an already blurry pattern appeared in Wu Tian’s hand.

”...”

”Did you hear that?”

After a moment of silence, the bullet comments began to scroll again.

”I heard it!”

”That fatso farted out of fear!”

”Hey, do you think if this fatty farts in his protective suit, will his pants bulge?”

”Don’t freaking derail the topic!”

”Didn’t you see the notebook in the Host’s hand?”

”Speaking of which, the Host is really brave, he just dares to pull it out without knowing anything!”

”Yeah, I almost peed myself!”

”Awesome, let’s go for a wave of rockets!”

”...”

”Did you just fart?”

Wu Tian held the notebook in one hand, and with the other, made a gesture to Rice to stay away, asking with a frown.

”Uh...”

”Ah!”

Rice hesitated for a few seconds, then naturally nodded.

”I... I just couldn’t hold it in, could I?”

”Oh dear...”

”Don’t worry about that, quickly see what this notebook is for?”

”Maybe there are important clues?”

Rice changed the subject.

”Mm.”

Wu Tian glared at the latter, saying nothing more.

He silently opened the flyleaf of the notebook.

Although before opening it, he already knew from Narrator-kun that this was indeed the notebook left by the previous group of scientists.

But he didn’t expect... the content on the flyleaf of this notebook to be so explosive!

When the flyleaf was opened!

A nearly blurred color photograph came into everyone’s view!

”Holy crap!”

Rice exclaimed in surprise.

He trembled as he pointed at the photo and asked,

”What is this thing?”

”A rat?”

”...Mm.”

Wu Tian nodded with a solemn expression.

On the photo, whose colors had faded under the erosion of time, was a picture of a giant rat, hastily captured head-on. Its eyes, like yellow beans, were startlingly crimson.

Its teeth were like a shark’s, its body like a kangaroo’s, and its claws were as sharp as knives!

It was currently facing the camera... baring its ferocious fangs!
