Global Exploration: Starting from Decrypting Chernobyl

13: The fart-bursting mutant piranha!Wu Tian and Rice quickly passed through a group of menacing mutated creatures, searching for the drinking water they had previously lost in the increasingly dark sky.

For some unknown reason, these creatures watched them leave.

Yet not a single one tried to chase after them!

...”Boss!”

”It’s getting dark, and the water will probably be hard to find!”

”How about... we go into the town first, find a safe place to rest for the night, and then look for it tomorrow morning?”

”...”

Wu Tian was silent for a moment, then shook his head.

”No!”

”We need to find that water source quickly now, otherwise, if we wait another night, we don’t know what changes might occur. I also don’t know if the intelligence of these mutated creatures has evolved. If their intelligence has also evolved...”

Wu Tian’s expression was grave.

”We absolutely cannot leave that water there!”

”Wh-why?”

Rice scratched his head.

”Smack!”

Wu Tian slapped Rice on the head.

”Are you stupid!”

”Don’t they lack water living here?”

”Even if we assume the worst, the water has our scent on it. If these creatures can’t find us, can’t they find the water that doesn’t move?”

”What if they destroy the water? What will we drink!”

”...”

Suddenly!

”Creak!”

Just as Wu Tian was scolding Rice, frustrated with him, the slightly slapped Rice stumbled backward, stepping onto the muddy slope at the side of the road!

”Whoosh!”

”Holy crap!”

Rice only managed to let out a mournful and drawn-out expletive.

He slid directly down the gentle slope.

Half a second later!

”Plop!”

A dull splash sounded from below the slope, followed by the sound of Rice spitting water out of his mouth.

”Pfft!”

”Ptooey, ptooey!”

Your gentle slap startled Rice. He took a step back and fell. Below is a river that cuts through half of the town of Pripyat, but strangely, the nuclear radiation level here is much lower, only about a hundred. And at the bottom of the river, you found the water source you had previously lost.

But opportunities often come with danger, you must proceed with caution!

Stamina +10!

Strength +5!

Speed +5!

Radiation Resistance +5!

Wu Tian was stunned.

Immediately, a mix of shock and joy surged within him. The joy was that Rice had, by a stroke of luck, discovered the water source previously lost in the water.

And the shock was... Narrator-kun merely said ’opportunities often come with danger,’ and the system gave him so many physical enhancements!

Stamina, strength, speed, radiation resistance!

He received four types all at once.

The danger that followed... would probably be difficult to handle!

”Boss!”

Rice’s cries for help came from the water below the slope.

”Save me quickly, glug glug...”

”The water is a bit deep, glug glug...”

”I’m almost full, glug glug...”

”Quickly...”

Wu Tian shook his head, then placed his precision instruments on the road nearby, carefully setting the two finger bones aside. Then, under the gaze of everyone in the live stream.

He gently unzipped his protective suit.

”No way, is the Host taking off his radiation suit?”

”In such a dangerous place, taking off the radiation suit is like giving up your life, isn’t it?”

”Can’t he not take it off?”

”Although it’s bulky to wear, he should still be able to save someone without taking it off!”

”...”

”He can’t!”

A nuclear physicist responded in the comments.

”There’s electricity in radiation suits. If there’s mechanical damage or water ingress, the radiation suit will lose its function.”

”So if the Host wants to save this Rice, the radiation suit must be taken off!”

”If that’s the case...”

A quick-thinking Fan in the comments said.

”Then the radiation suit Rice is wearing must already be broken?”

”Theoretically speaking...”

”That’s right!”

”Then it’s over, this lucky Rice probably won’t be able to accompany the Host any further!”

...Wu Tian, having taken off his radiation suit, didn’t hesitate at all. He aimed for the direction where Rice was splashing and slid down the muddy slope!

At this moment... Wu Tian’s own radiation resistance could offset an exposure of 162, which was lower than the environmental exposure!

But it was higher than the 100 Roentgens in the water.

So, for a short period, Wu Tian didn’t have to worry about being affected by radiation.

”Plop!”

A splash sounded as Wu Tian’s body slipped into the water.

He swam towards Rice, who was not far away, guided by the sound of the splashes!

”Rice!”

Wu Tian shouted.

”Glug glug...”

Not far away, came the sound of Rice drinking water and his exasperated grunts.

”I’m not Rice, I’m... glug glug...”

”Rice!”

”Alright, alright, I don’t care what you’re called, just stay where you are and don’t move. I’m swimming over to save you now!”

”Okay!”

”Glug glug...”

Rice’s reply came from the dark water not far away.

Wu Tian no longer hesitated, swimming with all his might towards Rice. He kept remembering the danger Narrator-kun had just mentioned. He didn’t want to stay in this place for another second!

As for opportunity?

To hell with it!

You focused entirely on swimming towards Rice to save him, but you didn’t notice the undercurrents beneath the water. Three minutes later, eight mutated piranhas attacked you the moment you found Rice, and you were almost bitten to death!

”...”

Wu Tian stopped swimming towards Rice, floating in the water.

His eyes were filled with panic.

”Why isn’t the Host moving?”

”Is there something in the water?”

”No way, why do I feel like Rice’s radiation suit is leaking electricity and electrocuting the Host?”

”Don’t talk nonsense!”

”I’ve already seen the panic in the Host’s eyes. It seems he’s probably encountered something in the water!”

”Something?”

”What kind of something?”

”Something dirty!”

”Something dirty? Did someone poop in the water?”

”...”

What to do?

Wu Tian’s mind raced. He dared not move, letting the water ripple around him.

His eyes stared intently at the dark, deep water.

He knew... the piranhas were probably already close!

They were likely lurking beneath Wu Tian or Rice’s feet, waiting for an opportunity to strike!

”Damn it!”

Wu Tian clenched his fists tightly, his body beginning to tremble slightly from helplessness and anger.

Suddenly!

Just as the three minutes were about to run out.

Wu Tian’s eyes lit up sharply.

He immediately swam with all his might towards Rice, who was thrashing in the darkness not far away, shouting loudly at him as he swam!

”Quick!”

”Rice!”

”Take off your radiation suit and fart quickly!”

”There are mutated piranhas around you!”

”Blast them!”
