The World's Richest Man: Start with the Daily Intelligence System

152: Chapter 152 New Product Launch Imminent”Since everyone isn’t interested, I won’t press the matter. Old Liu, help me give each of the elders present a basket of strawberries. Our family has some matters to discuss, so we won’t keep you all any longer.”

Zhang Wei suddenly felt it was all so ironic. These people had spent their entire lives scratching a living from the soil, yet they never knew farming could also make big money. Look at Wang Sheng and Zhang Hong. In just a few months, their savings were already enough to buy a small car.

If only their children studied diligently and could get into university, he could make an exception and hire them. But they simply lacked the capability yet still wanted to reap without sowing.

After the crowd dispersed, Li Huihong voiced the confusion in her heart: ”Mom, why did Second Brother’s wife suddenly come to see you today?”

Grandma was furious as soon as she heard this: ”That second daughter-in-law said she bought a new house and wants me to move in and live with them. Between the lines, she was hinting that I should hand over my pension savings for her to manage. Do you think I’ve lived this long without seeing through her little schemes?”

”My grandma really is wise and experienced.” Zhang Wei gave a thumbs-up, then said to Li Huihong: ”Our new villa has so many rooms. Why don’t we just have Grandma come live with us?”

Grandpa passed away early, leaving Grandma alone in the countryside, which was indeed worrisome. This way, the new home could also be livelier.

”What? Are you also eyeing Grandma’s savings?” Seeing Zhang Wei being so filial, Li Huihong was very comforted and, for once, made a joke.

Grandma laughed heartily: ”My grandson is so sensible. If he asked, I’d even give him my heart.”

Seeing the matter settled, Zhang Wei simply negotiated with the truck drivers. He paid each an extra thousand yuan to directly help Grandma load all the things she wanted to take onto the truck.

Liu Haorui, who had been busy filming video material of handing out the strawberries, rushed back at this moment, looking utterly confused. Why was there suddenly a move happening?

”Alright, Old Liu, let’s hurry to the provincial capital. Otherwise, we might miss dinner.”

Two SUVs followed by two trucks, the convoy just like that drove grandly towards the village entrance.

Not long after driving out, they saw Second Maternal Aunt dart out from somewhere, spreading her arms and blocking the middle of the road.

”Li Huihong, you come out here!”

”This crazy woman is causing trouble again.” Seeing his mom get out of the car, Zhang Wei feared she might get the short end of the stick. He also unbuckled his seatbelt and opened the car door.

”Second Maternal Aunt, what do you want now?”

Second Maternal Aunt sneered: ”Li Huihong, you’ve got quite the scheme, haven’t you? I wondered why you suddenly came back to the old home today. So you wanted to monopolize Mother-in-law’s savings. I’m telling you, no way!”

Their family had just bought a new house in the town, and their savings were almost completely used up on the down payment.

The couple discussed it and decided to simply pocket the old mother’s pension money. That way, it wouldn’t be divided up by the other children later. As for the old woman, they could just send her back after they got the money. They just never expected Li Huihong to snatch it away today.

Li Huihong was shaking with anger. Zhang Wei grabbed his mother’s hand.

”What kind of person has what kind of thoughts. You’re despicable yourself, so you think everyone else is like you?”

”You little brat, what did you say? I’m telling you, Mother-in-law’s property belongs to all the children equally. If you think you can monopolize it, you’re dreaming!”

Zhang Wei was speechless. This woman was not only bad but also legally illiterate.

”Do you not have any understanding of inheritance law at all?” Zhang Wei’s eyes held a teasing glint: ”It’s true that children divide the inheritance equally after their parents pass away, but that’s on the premise that the parents didn’t leave a will.”

After saying that, Zhang Wei leaned close to Second Maternal Aunt and said word by word: ”If Grandma designates my mom as the sole heir, then you won’t get a single cent.”

”You’re lying to me!” Second Maternal Aunt screamed. Thinking of her usual mistreatment of her mother-in-law, she panicked.

Zhang Wei pushed her to the side of the road. Before getting back in the car, he didn’t forget to deliver a final blow: ”Oh, right. Even though you won’t get any money, supporting one’s parents is an obligation as a child. Remember to send the monthly support money from now on. Otherwise, be careful, I might sue you.”

With that, he led the convoy out of the village, leaving Second Maternal Aunt alone, gnashing her teeth in place.

After a little over an hour’s drive, they finally returned to the villa in the provincial capital.

”Dad, I’m back!”

At this moment, Zhang Wei Guo was sitting in a rattan chair on the balcony, drinking tea. He was already starting to look a bit like an old patriarch.

”Xiao Wei is back? Hurry and wash your hands, we’re about to eat.” Zhang Wei Guo smiled, supporting himself with his arms and slowly standing up under Zhang Wei’s astonished gaze.

”Your dad can walk by himself now. Although he can’t last too long, the doctor says he’ll get better and better. He wanted to surprise you,” Li Huihong explained from the side, her eyes unconsciously reddening.

Just a few months ago, this family was almost torn apart. Precisely because of that, they cherished their current good days even more.

”Dad! This... this is wonderful!” Zhang Wei, for once, couldn’t control his emotions. His words were filled with excitement.

Everyone took their seats. Zhang Wei also introduced An Xiaoxi and Liu Haorui to his father. Tonight’s dinner was a private feast cooked at home by a specially called Anhui cuisine chef.

Different from the big-pot dishes in the countryside at noon, the flavors and ingredients were more refined. Everyone was hungry after a busy day, so they ate incredibly fast.

During the meal, Mom also talked about the situation with the Hainan guesthouse. The renovation company had been confirmed, and the remodeling could start after the New Year.

As for that Shen Yulin, after finding out he’d been scammed, he quit gambling and went to work up north. Mother Shen stayed in the house to help keep an eye on the renovations for her. The two of them got along quite well, as there wasn’t much of an age gap.

Zhang Wei wasn’t too concerned about this part, just telling his mom not to overwork herself.

And so, the next day, Zhang Wei took An Xiaoxi and Liu Haorui around the provincial capital for a whole day of fun. They even tried Anhui Province’s specialty tribute goose. Then, on the third day, they flew directly from the provincial capital airport to Hainan. The Star Jewelry launch event was right around the corner.

Two days later, in a mansion in the City Name.

”Young Master Wang, the Star Jewelry launch is about to begin,” a thin man said, bowing.

”Alright. Are the trolls all ready? Today, I want to see how they plan to wrap this up.”

If Chen Jiayan were present, she would definitely recognize him. Sitting on the sofa was none other than her former direct superior, Fatty Wang.

Ever since Zhang Wei thoroughly humiliated him last time, his uncle hadn’t allowed him to participate in any of the group’s affairs. But after all, he was his own nephew, so President Wang hadn’t shortchanged him on spending money.

Although Star Jewelry was a newly opened jewelry company, thanks to the continuous promotion by top influencer Liu Haorui, whether in the industry or among the general public, the buzz was everywhere.

Fatty Wang naturally knew about this. Openly, he didn’t dare offend Zhang Wei. But that resentment in his heart definitely needed an outlet.

”Once they announce the new product, have the trolls start their push. Criticize them hard for me! Make it as nasty as possible! Remember, handle the beginning and end cleanly!”

There was only one minute left until the launch began. Fatty Wang turned on the living room TV.
