Chapter 289: Chapter 289: Bailu: This Must Be a Bootleg World

As You Ci’s voice fell, everyone suddenly felt the world before their eyes blur, as if a memory from another universe had been implanted into their brains, bringing the four of them to another world.

Just like switching scenes in a game, after a brief blackness before their eyes, the four quickly regained their vision. But what was puzzling was that they were still standing in front of Sanyou Bookstore in the Exalting Sanctum, with the surrounding scenes as usual, and no changes had occurred.

”Why didn’t anything happen? So strange?”

Just as Stelle was still feeling bewildered, a tender voice suddenly came from beside her. Without a doubt, the owner of that voice was a little girl loli, but Stelle could affirm that it absolutely wasn’t Clara.

Instead, it sounded a bit like... Bailu?

Stelle doubtfully turned her head back, only to see an extremely shocking scene: Loli-form Bailu (original Bailu) was using her clear big eyes to curiously size them up, her petite appearance looking silly and dazed.

”Why have you all gotten bigger?”

Bailu compared her own height to Stelle and the others, feeling both dejected and annoyed for a moment: ”Hmph, what kind of thing did the store manager do? It’s not fun at all. This lady doesn’t want to become this small!”

Stelle: ???

Why did it feel like after Bailu became small, she actually had more temper than in her adult form?

This was too ”fictional”... Wait, this was the canon version, right?

—”Ah! Where are my muscles?”

At that moment, Lingsha also spoke up from beside her. Compared to her previous speaking voice, she now sounded even more delicate and gentle; even her manner of speaking was soft and gentle, completely the original version of that warm and reserved woman!

Of course, if one ignored the content of what she had just said.

Lingsha panicked and struck various bodybuilding poses, trying to tense her muscles, only to shockingly discover that her proud ”Zhuming muscles” had completely vanished, leaving only a weak and powerless body.

”No! My muscles, why is only this useless fat left?!” Lingsha’s mentality was a bit collapsing. The next second, she incredulously covered her mouth: ”This, this voice, why has my voice become like this?”

”That scoundrel You Ci the store manager, what exactly did he do to my... this humble one’s body?!”

”Why do I involuntarily refer to myself as ’my lady,’ my lady... this humble one isn’t that kind of woman!”

Stelle: ???

Wait, could it be...?

A bold idea suddenly emerged in her mind. To confirm her guess, Stelle stiffly turned her head, directing her gaze to the last person present.

That Clara...

”Big sister...” Clara subconsciously called out to Stelle, just about to take a step forward, but suddenly felt her body uncoordinated. With one misstep, she lost her balance, her body tilting toward the latter’s embrace—

Fortunately, Stelle caught her in time. Clara slumped into Stelle’s arms, her voice soft and glutinous: ”My body... how did it become like this?”

She felt that the invincible power in her body had long since disappeared, reverting to the frailest little girl form from back then. Under the sudden change, she even found it somewhat hard to adapt to her own body.

For example, when she originally walked, she only needed to exert one-ten-thousandth of her body’s strength, but now walking required one-tenth. Under the sudden shift, she simply couldn’t adapt immediately.

Moreover, for some reason, she discovered that her mentality and form of address toward Stelle had also changed accordingly. Before, she viewed Stelle as a trustworthy, dependable little brother, but now, the identities between the two seemed to have swapped psychologically.

—[”Everyone, hello. Welcome to my ’Fictional Narrative.’”]

At that moment, You Ci’s voice suddenly rang out: [”Please rest assured, you are now in the ’fictional story’ I have woven, playing the roles of the ’Trailblazer,’ ’Bailu,’ ’Lingsha,’ and ’Clara’ in this story. It has no effect on your original selves.”]

”’Fictional’... My lady understands.” Lingsha clutched her chest, lightly biting her silver teeth: ”The legendary major faction in the universe that believes in [Enigmata], specializing in weaving seemingly true stories to fool others, confusing the factual truths of the universe.”

”Our current state must be the appearance in some fabricated false universe. Truly detestable!”

You Ci: [”You can understand it that way, but rest assured, since it’s a false world, it naturally won’t pose any threat to you all. As long as you help me complete this false story, you can clear and leave the story.”]

[”Of course, the intelligence promised earlier will also be provided truthfully. If you all are unwilling to cooperate, I will immediately release you and await your next visit to hear me tell stories.”]

Stelle thought for a moment and asked, ”How do you need us to help complete the story?”

You Ci: [”Very simple. Just follow the task guidance and complete the next scene’s plot. Please look—”]

”Trailblazer—and everyone—! Huff, huff, finally found you!”

Qingque suddenly ran over from the side, her little face slightly red, panting as she said: ”Fin-Finally found you. Major news! It’s urgent!”

”Something big happened in the Shackling Prison. Hoolay, that borisin fighter chief, escaped. There have already been casualties. The general sent me to notify you all. The matter is still under his control for now, and he told you all not to worry!”

Stelle and the three others stared blankly at the suddenly appearing Qingque, feeling a strong sense of dissonance in their hearts.

Bailu/Lingsha: This, this isn’t the Luofu’s General, is it? Why in this story is she like a little soldier’s role?

Clara: Why does this girl look unreliable all over? Who is she?

Stelle: This is... Qingque...?

”Hey? What kind of look is that?” Qingque asked with an innocent face: ”At a time like this, don’t learn from me and slack off. The general asked me to request your help: go to the Alchemy Commission. Don’t let the internal ghost assisting the borisin escape this time!”

Bailu was somewhat dazed and muttered softly, ”Is it really okay for the store manager to do this? If General Qingque finds out about this, won’t we have to pay a huge infringement fee?”

”Hm? Dragon Lady, what did you just say?” Qingque asked doubtfully.

”Dra-Dragon Lady?” Bailu was slightly stunned, then puffed up in anger: ”Don’t call this lady Dragon Lady. This lady isn’t a child! I’m the Dragon Lord, the Vidyadhara Dragon Lord!”

Qingque tilted her head and thought for a moment, then shrugged helplessly: ”Alright alright alright, Dragon Lord. The general even specially instructed me to ensure your safety, in case the Dragon Master jumps the wall in desperation and harms you.”

”Don’t underestimate this lady!” Bailu clenched her little fist, ”Although I don’t know what the setting for the Dragon Master in this story is, this lady’s title of Luofu Number One Fist isn’t just for show!”

Qingque: ?
