A few thugs laughed, and one of them delightedly patted Xia Ling’s face. “Sensible little girl.”

Xia Ling disgustedly closed her mouth.

They pushed her and even started to take advantage of her. Xia Ling squinted her eyes. Emphasizing every word, she icily said, “You better conduct yourself well. After tonight, I will be your Young Master Nan’s wife. If he knows that you are treating me this way, I can’t be sure of how he will react.” Men were all face-saving. No matter the reason Nan Sheng married her for, he would never tolerate other men touching his wife.

The color left the faces of a few thugs, and they started to behave properly.

They escorted her to a resort nearby. Inside the red-bricked small villa, there was a room that was covered in red carpet and the mattress sheets were lined with mandarin ducks. Donned in a groom’s attire, Nan Sheng sat on the bed and awaited her arrival.

“You’re here.” He gracefully smiled at her. It was as if the debacle yesterday had never happened.

With a wave of his hand, the armed thugs left the room.

“Nan Sheng, I never expected you to be so despicable,” said Xia Ling.

“Despicable?” Nan Sheng laughed. “Xiao Ling, don’t be so angry. I just love you too much. After we have consummated our marriage, I’m sure you will also fall deeply in love with me. Come…”

As he spoke, he locked her in an embrace.

Xia Ling’s hands were tied together by the thugs. Even if she wanted to resist him, she was powerless. She tried her best to avoid his fondling and hatefully spat. “Nan Sheng, you beast, I will never forgive you!”

Nan Sheng laughed. “I said before that I loved feisty women.”

He lifted her face. Before he could kiss her, Xia Ling turned away.

“Good… Very good…” Nan Sheng pulled her face back. A dark, chilling smile crept on his face. “Ye Xingling, tonight I will brutally rape you to death.”

After he finished speaking, he slammed the door.

Xia Ling’s heart palpitated in fear, and she could not calm down.

What could she do? Was tonight really inescapable? She racked her brains but could not think of a good plan. She was so anxious that she was about to cry. After being born again, this was the first time she felt so afraid and helpless. Who… who could come and save her…

A handsome face appeared in her mind — Li Lei. If only Li Lei were here right now things would be much better.

The door opened once again, and a few women walked in.

“So you are the new bride?” The woman-in-charge glanced at her before instructing the others. “Hold her down for me and help her change into the bride’s dress.”

They hurriedly stepped forward, ignored her resistance, stripped off all her clothes, and made her wear a white silk strapless wedding dress with a long trail. The wedding dress was very fitting and outlined the right places of her body, and her slender legs were hidden behind a translucent part of the dress. Not only men, but even the women who helped her change also could not take their eyes off of her.

“Oh, such a beauty,” said one of the women. “No wonder Young Master Nan is interested in you. I can’t believe that you have such a good figure despite looking so skinny and small!”

Xia Ling tightly sealed her lips, refusing to respond.

The women surrounded her. They applied make-up to her face and styled her hair. After an hour or so passed, a beautiful bride was created.

Her hands were still tied together using white rope. The only difference was that they were tied in front of her instead of behind her. She was also given white laced gloves to wear, and a large bouquet of white lilies and roses were tied to her hands. Without looking closely, one would not realize that her hands were actually restrained.

“Get a pair of heels for her to wear. Choose the one with the thinnest heels,” said the woman-in-charge. “Tell the two bridesmaids to hold on to her firmly to prevent her from escaping. After the ceremony, send her back to Young Master Nan’s room and our task will be done.”

The women nodded in response. One of them looked at Xia Ling and jealously said, “You really don’t know what’s good for you, do you? I can’t believe you want to run away after being chosen by Young Master Nan! Do you know that marrying him means you get to enjoy a life of luxury?”

There was still no expression on Xia Ling’s face.

That woman was not amused and shoved her violently. “Move! Seriously, what’s the big deal about a small star like you. I don’t even know what you did to seduce Young Master Nan, and now you are acting all innocent.”

Xia Ling was tightly held by them as they dragged her out of the room.

That pair of thin high heels did not fit her, and it hurt immensely whenever she took a step. However, the emotional pain she felt was the greatest, consumed by fear and uncertainty. She did not want to marry a lecher. She did not want that disgusting piece of trash touching her. However, once the wedding ceremony was over, she would be forced to consummate the marriage…

Xia Ling walked very slowly and struggled on purpose. She refused to cooperate in an attempt to delay what was about to happen.

Unfortunately, the two bridesmaids were very strong and had a firm grip on her as they dragged her to the wedding hall.

There were 18 tables in the wedding hall. Fourth Uncle’s family, Father Ye, and Aunt Liu sat at the main guest table. The other tables were occupied by neighbors in the village. There were also people who looked like they were part of a mob. Even the people who had attacked her car were grimly present.

Nan Sheng, dressed in a groom’s attire, walked towards her enthusiastically.

“Xiao Ling, you’re so beautiful.” He examined her body with lecherous eyes. Under the crystal chandelier, her porcelain white skin was as beautiful as jade. The dress wrapped her like a glove, and her hands were tightly tied together, but her expression was cold and prideful. She looked like an unattainable frozen rose. “Very soon, you will be mine,” he said as he licked his lips.

Xia Ling only felt disgusted. “Brute. Animal. Trash.”

He only smiled in response. “You can scold me however you like, but you can’t change reality.”

He gave a signal, and the two bridesmaids ushered her up the stage of the wedding hall.

The host made a long speech full of praise for the couple. He commented that they were a perfect match and that they would last together for hundreds of years. After that, he asked the groom, “Do you take Miss Ye as your lawful wife for richer or poorer and promise never to desert her?”

Nan Sheng looked at her as if he were a snake looking at its prey. “I do.”

The wedding guests erupted in applause.

The host then asked again, “Miss Ye, are you willing to be Mr. Nan’s wife?”

“I’m not willing.” She said icily.

“Xiao Ling, you really know how to joke.” Nan Sheng was unaffected and turned to face the host. “She’s also willing,” he said.

“I’m not willing!” Xia Ling screamed angrily.

However, the host pretended not to hear her and said, “Since both the groom and the bride are willing, I now announce them husband and wife from this day onwards. Congratulations to both of you! Everyone, please congratulate the couple!”

Another round of applause erupted from the guests. Xia Ling was shaking in anger, but she could not do anything about it.

Nan Sheng took her from the bridesmaid, put his arm around her waist and gently caressed her through the satin cloth. “Xiao Ling, stop resisting me and just give it up. You will fall in love with me.” He lowered his head and tried to kiss her.

“Let go of her.” A voice was heard.

This voice was not loud, but it foreshadowed danger. It made those who heard it shudder in fear.

Everyone turned their heads and realized that the door of the wedding hall had been pushed open by someone. A handsome young man walked in step by step with a cold and murderous expression on his face.

“Li Lei.” Looking at him, Xia Ling thought she was dreaming. Her voice quivered as she almost cried in joy.
