Invincible from Seeing the BOSS's Health Bar

Chapter 33: Chapter 33 Beheading at the Vegetable Market (5 updates)

Ten, hundred... five hundred fifty-five blood levels??

What the heck??

Did my blood level thermally expand and contract? Did the value inflate??

Fang Yu looked up at his own health bar.

[Diao Deyi: 22/22.]

No way.

Absolutely no way!

My blood level is still the same.

So there’s only one possibility left.

Fang Yu looked at Yue Guang with frustration.

If he remembered correctly, last night when he saw Yue Guang, his blood level was only... 75 points.

And now, one day later, upon meeting again, it skyrocketed to 555 points.

Is this reality? This is so real!

Yue Guang, you waste! How could you let the demon possess you and take your place? I haven’t even learned your archery skills!!

Yes, Yue Guang must have been killed by the demon, who then wore his skin to take his place.

What a damn mess.

Our comrade in arms from just a day ago has turned into a demon adversary.

Sigh...

Fang Yu sighed, suddenly recalling something.

If Yue Guang has turned into a demon... doesn’t that mean Li Qianxuan is in great danger?

Ah, Brother Li, it’s not that I don’t want to help you, but facing a full-health demon, I don’t dare to strike.

Fang Yu stepped carefully; he’s developed so far, he certainly didn’t want to show off and get insta-killed by the demon, losing all his progress.

After all, with just 22 health points, he wouldn’t survive even a slap from a demon.

Fang Yu hid in the crowd, not daring to stand out.

But those guys locked up in the prison cart were actually still bickering.

”Who blabbed, speak up! Was it you, Zhang Ada, who messed up?”

”Me? Let me tell you, I’m ironclad! It’s Wen Kehan who’s dodgy, she mysteriously disclosed that she had lost her memory, isn’t that just seeking death?”

”How could this be pinned on me, Wen Kehan? I don’t admit to it! Your character introductions were all so detailed. My character is like an orphan, with hardly any description. What can I do? Make stuff up? Wouldn’t that still give away memory inconsistencies?”

”Stop fighting! In the end, just because we don’t have character memories, branding us as demons, this logic is ridiculous, you get it?”

”Exactly! We’re all good people, demons definitely can’t pin it on us.”

”Oh dear, I said at the game’s outset to just listen to the game introduction, listen to the game intro. Look now, you were supposed to hide your identities, but you just love showing off! Now look at us, treated as demons and finished off together.”

”Hey! Don’t take your anger out on me, I’ve just been lying low and haven’t done anything, my identity was well-hidden. It’s because I teamed up with you guys that we got caught all at once by the Foolish Underworld.”

”What do you mean by that? Are you blaming me?”

”I blame you! It’s all your fault!”

”I’ll kill you!”

”I’m not afraid of you!”

”Ahhhh! I wish you’d all just die!!”

The few people on the cart actually started fighting, creating a total mess.

As the damage numbers popped out, Fang Yu realized why these people were not at full health.

Turns out it wasn’t the Foolish Underworld folks who struck, but rather they started infighting and lost blood after being captured.

No wonder their remaining blood levels were so uneven.

Fang Yu nudged the person next to him who was also watching the excitement.

”What’s going on here?”

”They caught a demon,” the person replied impatiently.

”It doesn’t look like it, could they have mistaken the identity?”

”What’s there to mistake? The Foolish Underworld has interrogated them. Those few lost their memories from before, they’ve been replaced by demons. The issue has been exposed, and some of their acquaintances even say they’ve changed completely; isn’t this, even more, the sign of demon possession!”

”...!!!???”

There’s such reasoning?!

Bad news!

Have I, have I been too conspicuous these past couple of days?

The thought of being treated as a demon and having to face the elite squads of the Foolish Underworld sent shivers down Fang Yu’s spine.

There’s absolutely no chance of success.

Keep a low profile! Must act low profile from now on!

But this consequence of demon possession, why does it resemble player login behavior so much?

Players lack character memory, and so do they after being possessed by demons.

Players control characters, definitely doing as they please, and the same goes for possession by demons, leading to drastic changes in personality.

These damn players, haven’t they been screwed over by demons?

Being pushed out as a demon at any given moment, who could stand that?

No wonder when you first enter the game, players are told not to reveal their identities. There’s a reason for that.

To summarize, if you don’t want to be mistaken for a demon and beheaded:

1. Character memories, must find a way to recover them.

2. Try to keep character behavior as close to the original as possible to avoid exposing flaws.

3. Don’t let yourself be put under investigation; once that happens, the Foolish Underworld’s people come to check, and you won’t be able to escape the consequences.

As Fang Yu realized this, he had already arrived at the market.

The prison cart’s door opened.

The people who were still fighting were separated by the Foolish Underworld’s enforcers, one by one they were escorted to the platform in the marketplace, kneeling down, waiting for their execution.

”After investigation by the Foolish Underworld, Zhang Ada and his group of five are all demons, to be beheaded in the street to verify their true form!”

The executioner turned out to be Yue Guang.

He raised the Specter’s Edge.

”Help! I’m innocent...”

Hissss—

Heads rolled away.

Bodies fell to the ground.

[Zhang Ada: 0/7.]

Zhang Ada’s health bar is emptied.

This was originally a very common scene of a demon possession leading to murder, which Fang Yu didn’t care much about.

But in the next moment, a row of green numbers suddenly popped up above Yue Guang’s head.

”+7.”

Fang Yu’s pupils dilated, his breath hitched.

[Yue Guang: 562/562.]

This demon possessing Yue Guang, why does it feel off?!!!

What’s that?

Health increase? Max health increase?

Why though?

The demons before never had this ability.

While he was still pondering.

”Ada!!”

Someone in the crowd threw themselves onto Zhang Ada’s headless body, wailing loudly.

It was a middle-aged woman, seemingly Zhang Ada’s mother.

”The body didn’t rise; my Ada was human! Human!!!”

She wept with bloodshot eyes, screaming in rage at Yue Guang, her facial features distorted with anger, appearing like a crazed demon.

But in the next instant.

Buzz!!

A flash of the blade.

This mother’s head was separated from her body, falling to the ground, silencing the scene for a moment.

Psssst—

Blood only then sprayed out from the headless corpse, scaring the onlookers pale.

Only Yue Guang spoke out coldly.

”Those who obstruct the execution of demons by the Foolish Underworld... shall be deemed as guilty as the demons themselves!”

Yue Guang’s ruthlessness scared everyone silent.

Only Fang Yu frowned slightly.

Because he noticed something.

When the demon killed Zhang Ada’s mother, there were no green numbers above its head.

Killing Zhang Ada increased its health; killing Zhang Ada’s mother didn’t.

What’s the logic behind this?

Fang Yu was still pondering when Yue Guang’s blade had already descended again.

The head of Jie Jue flew straight off.

[Jie Jue: 0/7.]

+7.

[Yue Guang: 569/569.]

Well, damn! I’m totally saying damn!

A very absurd, yet possibly correct thought was nearly bursting out in Fang Yu’s mind.
