Chapter 938: Chapter 934: The Broken Scabbard

Just as Fujiwara Daisuke pointed the scabbard at the Demon Blade, the blade suddenly reacted with extreme resistance, trying hard to retreat in the opposite direction.

However, just as the Demon Blade conceived the idea of retreat, it abruptly halted its movement; the blade began to tremble uncontrollably, slowly edging closer to the scabbard.

On the other side, Fujiwara Daisuke clenched his jaw tightly, veins coursed through his forehead, sweat dripped from the top of his head, looking as though he was being tortured.

After a moment, Fujiwara Daisuke’s perseverance was not in vain. The Demon Blade, unable to withstand the stalemate, finally dashed into the scabbard with a swift sound.

Fujiwara Daisuke stumbled unwillingly, carried by inertia, and hastily grasped the Star Staff in his hand to prevent the risk of falling from a height.

On the ground, watching Fujiwara Daisuke, who was slowly descending with the Demon Blade returned to the scabbard, the elderly, twilight years behind them, sighed in relief while showing expressions of excitement.

Each of them gazed with admiration at Fujiwara Daisuke, about to land steadily on the ground, the joy overflowing in their hearts was evident.

However, Xiao Tian’s face showed no relaxation, his eyes latched onto the section of the Demon Blade exposed to the air, feeling as if a bone was caught in his throat, thinking that relaxing now was premature.

Despite the current behavior of the Demon Blade, which could be described as honest and docile, adopting a stance of giving up resistance since being housed in the scabbard.

Yet intuition told Xiao Tian that the Demon Blade, bearing its name for a reason, could not have been subdued so easily.

Moreover, the feedback received from previous encounters, that extreme fury in its dense aura, also indirectly confirmed the Demon Blade would not let matters rest!

A moment later, Fujiwara Daisuke safely landed on the ground, his fingers appeared pale from gripping the scabbard too tightly, his expression solemn as he spoke: ”Now, I must ask each of you seniors to retrieve the stolen part of the scabbard belonging to Uncle Six at the fastest pace possible, I will use the power of the Star Staff to hold the Demon Blade steady.”

”When clearing out Fujiwara Akita’s house earlier, we probably gathered some miscellaneous items together, why don’t we start there?” one elder suggested.

The surrounding elders nodded in agreement, believing the method was feasible.

Xiao Tian’s face immediately darkened, thinking that you all practically wished for Fujiwara Daisuke’s demise!

With so many idlers, must they insist on searching in one place instead of spreading out? Wouldn’t that be more efficient?

Sure enough, Fujiwara Daisuke immediately suppressed his inner impatience and said: ”There is no time left, please spread out, seniors, and find the missing scabbard part as quickly as possible, remember, speed is crucial!”

With those words, Fujiwara Daisuke swiftly struck the ground with the Star Staff in his hand, causing the scattering energy to quickly gather together again, attempting to compensate for the missing part of the scabbard, though it seemed unable to hold much longer.

Just when the elders urgently discussed solutions, completely divided the areas for search, and were about to spread out and act, Xiao Tian, who had remained silent, suddenly spoke softly...

”No need! Time has already run out!”

Having witnessed Xiao Tian’s previous methods, naturally Fujiwara Daisuke dared not easily ignore his words, immediately asked: ”To what reason do you speak?”

In the next moment, before Xiao Tian could respond, everyone had already understood what was happening.

Under the watchful eyes of all, Fujiwara Daisuke holding the scabbard suddenly blushed intensely, then involuntarily raised the scabbard, and, without hesitation, slashed toward his own neck.

Xiao Tian reacted quickly, directly slammed down with his fist, forcing the scabbard in Fujiwara Daisuke’s hand down to his chest, preventing him from completing the suicidal act.

Even so, Fujiwara Daisuke felt pain in his chest, a shocking wound appeared, instantly soaking his clothing, leaving his chest drenched in blood.

In pain, Fujiwara Daisuke naturally couldn’t maintain his grip posture; the scabbard immediately slipped from his hand, and as soon as it flew out, spontaneously disintegrated, revealing the silver-white blade glistening with a chilling gleam.

In an instant, Fujiwara Daisuke slumped to the ground like mud, surprisingly unable to feel the pain in his chest, and the light in his eyes swiftly faded, turning into a shade of ash.

The elders around him, witnessing this scene, all appeared petrified, unable to react for quite some time.

In this situation, even if the missing part of the scabbard were found, it would be completely useless, serving no purpose, causing a sense of despair to spread through the crowd, akin to the sky overhead collapsing.

However, amidst the despair, they were startled as a blur flashed before their eyes, a figure grabbed the Demon Blade’s hilt, standing upright in midair as if stepping on the solid ground.

And the person who grabbed the Demon Blade’s hilt was, without a doubt, Xiao Tian...

...

In truth, choosing to take such a risk was not Xiao Tian’s original intention.

It was at the moment the Demon Blade destroyed the scabbard that Xiao Tian realized he had no way out. Escaping at that time was clearly not feasible, and he had to act, even for his own sake.

With no better solution, he had no choice but to attempt to control the Demon Blade in this unstable manner, trusting that once it was subdued, the crisis would naturally be resolved.

High above, gripping the Demon Blade, Xiao Tian felt countless horrendous screams echoing in his ears, his inner murderous intent began to surge uncontrollably, gradually evolving into a mindset of wanting to destroy everything.

It seemed every person around him had an irreconcilable enmity with him, and not killing them wouldn’t suffice to quell the fury in his heart.

Quickly breaking free from that murderous emotion, Xiao Tian was filled with a sense of dread at how he had such thoughts towards people with whom he shared no deep hatred—surely an inconceivable matter.

Just as Xiao Tian’s mind cleared, the endless wailing suddenly ceased, replaced by another voice, as if directly conversing with him.

”Kill the people in this village, and you will be my master; you can then use me to kill anyone you wish!”

Xiao Tian immediately furrowed his brows, the voice echoing in his ears was that of men and women, old and young, sounding like countless people speaking in unison, possessing a hypnotic effect, remarkably convincing like magic!

It was as if the words spoken by countless people simultaneously were absolute truth, leaving no room for doubt.

In the next moment, countless voices began to repeat:

”Kill the people in this village!”

”Kill the people in this village!”

”Kill the people in this village...”
