Chapter 932: Chapter 928: How to Clear Suspicion?

After a question was asked, the onlookers began to glance around.

At this moment, Xiao Tian, standing behind the crowd, suddenly raised his hand and answered loudly, ”We’re here!”

Having said that, under the scrutiny of dozens of eyes, he walked calmly towards Fujiwara Daisuke, his pace measured and steady, showing no signs of nervousness.

Behind him, Xiang Yiting and Adison Claire exchanged glances, both realizing that something seemed off, but they still followed closely behind Xiao Tian.

Xiao Tian stopped about ten meters in front of Fujiwara Daisuke and asked, ”Mr. Fujiwara, is there something you need from us?”

Fujiwara Daisuke’s brows briefly furrowed as he scrutinized Xiao Tian’s face and then coldly said, ”Did you see Fujiwara Akita last night?”

Before Xiao Tian could answer, Fujiwara Akita, who had seemed dazed as if he’d lost his soul, suddenly sat up and, in a panic, scrambled backward.

”Please spare me, I dare not, I dare not again!”

The moment Fujiwara Akita caught sight of Adison Claire, he trembled uncontrollably, backing away while pleading for mercy.

Opinions varied among the crowd, but their gaze unanimously focused on Adison Claire, filled with suspicion.

After all, logically speaking, the autumn sun isn’t as glaring or scorching as the summer sun, and the weather wasn’t too cold. Adison Claire’s tight wrapping indeed invited doubt.

”Could any of the three of you explain what’s going on?” Fujiwara Daisuke’s piercing gaze shot directly to Xiao Tian. Though his words sounded polite, anyone could detect the irritation in his tone.

Xiao Tian wore a bewildered expression, ”Explain what? What requires an explanation from us?”

”Last night, someone from our village saw Fujiwara Akita run out from your residence, looking quite panicked.”

After patiently explaining, Fujiwara Daisuke’s tone became aggressive again, ”Therefore, please explain what happened.”

”Fujiwara Akita ran out from our residence?” Xiao Tian feigned surprise, turning to look at Xiang Yiting and Adison Claire, ”Did either of you see him?”

At this, Xiang Yiting and Adison Claire had no choice but to shake their heads in unison, ”Didn’t see him.”

Their voices had scarcely fallen when an indignant shout came from nearby, ”Nonsense! I clearly saw Fujiwara Akita running out in a panic. How could you have missed him?”

It was a young man who had just been taken away who spoke. Already ordered punished, he dared not risk another false report accusation, knowing it wouldn’t just be a simple punishment.

Ignoring the young man’s outrage, Fujiwara Daisuke’s sharp gaze remained fixed on Xiao Tian, growing more dangerous, as he said, ”In that case, let’s go take a look together. The truth will naturally emerge.”

”Is Mr. Fujiwara suspecting us of harming Fujiwara Akita?” Xiao Tian met Fujiwara Daisuke’s gaze directly.

Fujiwara Daisuke replied calmly, ”You’ve misunderstood me. I’m doing this for your benefit. Now that there are rumors in the village, if you’re innocent, wouldn’t it clear suspicions?”

Hearing this, Xiang Yiting’s expression changed. Now under suspicion from Fujiwara Daisuke, if he saw the waist-high wild grass suddenly appearing in the courtyard, suspicions would only deepen. Even honest explanations might not be believed then.

With that in mind, Xiang Yiting couldn’t help but step forward, ready to reveal all Fujiwara Akita’s disgraceful behavior from the previous night.

But before she could act, Xiao Tian let out a light laugh, ”In that case, we’ll do as Mr. Fujiwara suggests.”

Saying so, he turned and left first, appearing entirely forthright.

Seeing Xiao Tian leave without a backward glance, the crowd turned their gaze to Fujiwara Daisuke, awaiting his next instruction.

Without further ado, Fujiwara Daisuke lightly waved his left hand, signaling everyone to follow.

...

Entering the small courtyard where Xiao Tian and the others stayed, Fujiwara Daisuke took several steps, taking in all the courtyard sights, and as expected, his gaze was drawn to the waist-high wild grass.

”What’s going on here?” Fujiwara Daisuke asked with a voice of confusion, looking at the vibrant grass unaffected by the season.

Xiao Tian’s eyes were clear, immediately responding, ”We only discovered it this morning. We don’t know the reason.”

”Do you think I’d believe that?” Fujiwara Daisuke’s tone drastically shifted, shedding any hints of goodwill.

”Believe it or not, it’s up to you!”

With a calm face, Xiao Tian showed neither change in color from Fujiwara Daisuke’s threat-filled words nor hurried to explain, as though demonstrating that the pure would remain unstained.

Fujiwara Daisuke reached out, gently stirring the drooping tops of the grass, then said, ”I noticed Fujiwara Akita seemed frightened of the lady with sunglasses. Surely you three can’t deny this?”

Adison Claire’s body slightly trembled, and her lips, hidden by a mask, moved a bit as she spoke in a pleasant yet subdued voice, ”My appearance is somewhat unsightly, it might frighten others, so it’s better not to.”

”Such an explanation from you three inevitably invites doubt.”

Fujiwara Daisuke’s voice suddenly rose, ”Now that something has happened to Fujiwara Akita, and all suspicion points to you, as the person in charge here, if I simply brush it off because of you three, it won’t command respect...”

”What do you mean, Mr. Fujiwara?” Xiao Tian stepped slightly forward, shielding half of Adison Claire, showing no sign of retreat.

”Unless you can clear up all prior doubts, proving you’re unrelated to Fujiwara Akita’s current condition, otherwise, I’m afraid I must apologize for being unable to extend further hospitality!” Fujiwara Daisuke said ominously.

As he finished speaking, Xiao Tian noticed people around them start to move stealthily, and the courtyard gate suddenly slammed shut with a dull thud.

Unable to extend hospitality further, Xiao Tian understood the true meaning wasn’t just that if they couldn’t clear themselves, Fujiwara Daisuke would drive them out of the village.
