God-Level Special Forces Soldier

Chapter 913: Chapter 909: The Battle Begins

Xiao Tian took a deep breath, quickly brainstorming a strategy to deal with the situation. Judging from the current situation, the slime covering the giant creature’s body seemed like a natural shield. Not only could it be used for attack, but its defense was also exceptionally formidable!

In fact, if Xiao Tian were to break out with all his might, he was fully confident he could charge out. However, doing so would lead the Water Drop Organization to deploy a thorough search team when they couldn’t find Adison Claire’s whereabouts.

Adison Claire and Xiang Yiting, both ordinary women, stood no chance of outrunning these skilled fighters.

With this in mind, even though Xiao Tian was inherently unwilling to battle such a formidable opponent, he could only fully concentrate at this moment to deal with the colossal creature renowned for both its offensive and defensive capabilities.

The round stone bench failed to halt the giant creature’s advance; instead, it seemed to spark an infinite fighting desire within it, plunging it into an even more frenzied state.

The giant monster first lay on its back as before. After a moment of stamping and chest-beating, against Xiao Tian’s expectations, it did not splatter that terrifyingly lethal slime from its body.

Instead, its entire body’s slime followed the creature’s movements, transforming into armor covered with spiny barbs, enveloping its body. The transition from flowing liquid to solidified armor occurred in the blink of an eye.

Although Xiao Tian was unaware of the special abilities the creature possessed in its current form, judging by the shocked expressions of the Water Drop Organization members, it was clear they hadn’t anticipated such a development either.

...

”This, this is just too incredible, right?!” a member of the Water Drop Organization exclaimed spontaneously as he observed the radically transformed giant creature.

After the exclamation, most people around nodded in deep agreement, with a distinct emotion now coloring their eyes as they gazed at the giant creature.

The next moment, the leader, the first to snap out of the daze, saw his subordinates around him in a stupor and shouted angrily, ”Wake up! If that kid gets away, none of us will escape the consequences.”

”Our direct superior was sent to the purgatory for punishment before we even arrived. If any of you want to experience life there, feel free to ignore what I’m saying.”

Upon hearing this, the dozen or so men were instantly startled, snapping to consciousness almost simultaneously, then shivering involuntarily at the mention of ’purgatory.’

After a while, one of them spoke up, ”Boss, isn’t this new high-up a bit too cruel?”

”It seems like only one or two people have ever come out of purgatory alive, right?”

As the words fell, someone nearby quickly supplemented, ”And those one or two who came out alive suffered severe mental trauma and behaved like demons possessed when they had episodes!”

”Good that you know!”

The leader snorted coldly, ”The higher-ups kept those two people alive till now and spent massive resources to keep them alive. Do you think it’s only because of their past achievements? Ha, what a joke!”

Upon hearing this, most of the sensible ones could already guess the gist, each understanding and then unable to resist a wave of fear.

However, there were inevitably those who couldn’t grasp the intention of the superiors, puzzledly asking, ”If not for that, then what for?!”

Once the words settled, the person who questioned saw the others around looking at him with peculiar expressions, then uniformly shaking their heads and sighing as if arranged in advance.

A moment later, the leader looked at the previous questioner, asking with some amusement, ”Zhou the Third, hasn’t it been four or five years since you joined the organization?”

Zhou the Third was momentarily taken aback, blinked, and replied honestly, ”Yeah, but what does that have to do with keeping those two from purgatory?”

The leader gazed speechlessly at Zhou the Third’s earnest expression seeking answers and said, ”Those who joined the organization with you at the same period are at least Four Stars officers now, but you remain at the bottom, becoming the oldest among the newcomers and the lowest ranked among the veterans.”

”Have you never pondered why this is?”

Zhou the Third was perplexed, pondering briefly before responding, ”I never considered it, but perhaps the organization wants to test me more, so they have me train more at the grassroots level.”

Upon hearing that, everyone was stunned, unable to speak for a long time.

Using ’training more at the grassroots level’ as an excuse is ridiculous, even to the point of begrudgingly admitting it publicly.

Even if, by some extremely unlikely chance, it was genuinely the organization’s test, who on earth has heard of a four- or five-year test for one person?!

Could you be that oblivious to your situation?!

Facing Zhou the Third’s peculiar reasoning, the leader knew if he didn’t answer, he would face endless questions. So, he reluctantly said, ”Those two were left to warn the rest of us. Understand?”

Zhou the Third nodded slowly, his expression revealing no clue as to whether he truly understood or was pretending to be enlightened.

The leader didn’t intend to bother any longer with Zhou the Third, who had managed to persistently toil at the lowest levels over the years. Instead, he adopted a serious demeanor.

After a cough, he announced loudly, ”Zhou the Third, Yang Dongsheng, Wang Chengjian, you three go inside and search every corner. Make sure to dig out Adison Claire!”

The three men clasped their hands in agreement and moved to enter the main structure of the manor for the search.

However, the leader’s orders didn’t escape Xiao Tian’s ears. Within a very short period, he reached a conclusion—he must not let them search the house.

Currently, considering the time since Adison Claire and Xiang Yiting began their escape, it hadn’t even been a full fifteen minutes.

For someone skilled in Body Technique, fifteen minutes would suffice to flee far away, but for two ordinary women, it was clearly not enough time to get very far.

Thinking about this, Xiao Tian immediately activated Iron Chain Cross River at high speed, and the True Qi within him roared, filling him with power. As Xiao Tian directed it, it surged through his wide meridians.

Feeling the deep, vast True Qi accumulating, Xiao Tian raised his right arm and punched forward with force, the air crackling around him.

As his arm extended, a dazzling, sun-like fireball emitted, formed of True Qi and carrying an unstoppable force, aiming at the giant creature’s chest.

Under the night sky, the Water Drop Organization’s trio saw the fireball disperse the darkness, illuminating the manor as if it were broad daylight, causing their hurried steps to pause, their eyes firmly drawn to the fireball.
