Medea suddenly revealed to me something I never thought or imagined any being born in this world could figure out on their own.

”Our world… is somewhat strange, have you thought about it? Iʼve read the Constellations. Apparently, there was once a world like ours that ceased to exist, and after eons, our world was born,” Medea revealed.

”…?!”

She knows the truth?!

She figured it out on her own!

Wow…

Just how amazing is she as a magician to be able to read stars and learn such truth?!

”I see youʼre shocked,” she nodded. ”It is an incredible power I possess, not easy to do all the time though… In that Fate, I read about a world like ours, and people like us once existed, as if these were the memories of an ancient, parallel universe. At some point, paths diverged. One gave birth to this world through diverged paths. The other perished. In that other world… I could never find traces of your existence. Your mother and her family existed, but they never met your father, and so, you were never born… I believe your existence is what has changed our fates and allowed us to continue existing.”

”Medea…” I was flabbergasted at her words, which all sounded so incredible. ”Youʼre amazing for being able to figure out something so crazy… but is that even real?” I tried to act skeptical.

”I know you believed me the first time. Thereʼs no need to act skeptical,” she giggled. ”But indeed, how is this possible? I also wonder the same. Iʼve been trying to seek answers myself. They might be related to many things, but we arenʼt there yet.”

”Hm, I see,” I nodded. ”Uh, about back then when I hit you in that match, Iʼm sorry… You were obviously holding back so much and yet I was still caught by my own emotions.”

”Ah, youʼre such a good person,” she smiled, kissing my forehead several times. ”You should not worry! It was a match, so I was obviously going to get hurt.”

”But knowing how strong you all are… you couldʼve actually beaten me!” I said. ”So why… why did you hold back?”

”Well, because we love you, thatʼs why,” Medea smiled. ”Wasp and Frankenstein might have a lot of difficulty showing their affection. Theyʼre cold men after all but… they care about you more than you can imagine. We wanted to teach you a lesson, but also, we were able to see through your heart and how you cared so much about that boy Frank but also about your father… Wasp was the one who didnʼt want to accept it but in the end… heʼs ultimately weak to you, you know?”

”H-He is?” I felt embarrassed. ”I thought he disliked me…”

”Oh, of course he doesnʼt,” Medea sighed. ”That man! Maybe we should have a talk with him, hm? Heʼs been too hurtful with you, my lady?”

”Ah, no, no, weʼre getting along much better now. I think I know how to get to his heart more easily, through martial arts. Thatʼs when he finally opens up!” I said.

”Heh, yes, itʼs his one obsession,” Medea nodded. ”Once we lost against you, you showed us we were wrong. You showed an alternative way to cure your fatherʼs hunger and also told us that Frank could be valuable beyond a mere resource, perhaps as a future ally even.”

”Thatʼs right! We might be a criminal organization, but we donʼt have to try to kill everything, right?” I asked with a nod.

”Fufu, you bring great joy to us all, and your ideas are always fresh,” she said, kissing my nose and then my cheeks. ”My precious, adorable, little baby! Mooch, mooch!”

”M-Medea, stop calling me baby…” I rolled my eyes.

”Oh my! Heheh, I went too far? I apologize…” she said, walking toward the great open area in front of us. ”Come, Iʼve prepared a seat, some instruments, and various books and things! Itʼs going to be so much fun to teach you the Arcane Path!”

Medea led me inside this large open area with a paved floor. In front of me, there were three whiteboards she had prepared to write on.

”Alright, so the Arcane Path!” she said. ”First of all, young lady, let me ask you a simple question. To you, what is Magic?”

”What… What is Magic?”

The simplest answer would be…

”When we manipulate Mana to create a spell,” I explained. ”By interacting with the worldʼs… elements?”

”You could say that, and most would agree,” Medea said, nodding, as she began drawing something on the whiteboard, resembling a person. ”However, everyone will always have their own interpretation of what magic is! Some will tell you the scientific explanation, such as that humans can alter the particles of Mana through their own Intent and create chemical reactions and phenomena that provoke elements to appear, twist, and even be manipulated… Some will tell you that it is borrowing power from other stronger beings beyond our world, and some will tell you it is all about manipulating whatʼs already around us, the world. And none of them are wrong.”

”I see…” I nodded, as I saw the illustration.

”This is you,” she said, pointing at the drawing. Then she pointed at several lines flowing toward small little spheres. ”And these lines are your Mind. When the Realm of the Mind interacts with Reality and its particles, a reaction is created. This reaction is minimal. Ninety-nine percent of people on this planet are not even aware of it. But we are special in that we can influence the world with this Intent. Of course, empty Intent is useless. There has to be Essence, Energy, within it. Martial Artists use their own Lifeforce, Ki. We, practitioners of the Arcane Path, use the Magic Particle, Mana. What makes this particle so unique?”

”I donʼt know. That it can alter elements?” I asked.

”Yes, but also Mana is unique because it is the only particle that ʼrespondsʼ to us,” said Medea. ”It is… a living being on its own. A unique phenomenon only to Mana itself! Life Force can be shaped like this, but it is obvious because it comes from life itself.”

”I see…!” I nodded.
