Discussing the Great Dao?

What did this idiot even mean by that?

I had already mastered several Daos, so what else did he want me to talk about?

How nice it felt to feel like I was a swarm of insects?

Or perhaps there was something else to it I didnʼt understand yet?

Maybe.

Just maybe, my understanding of the Dao wasnʼt actually that good.

And the System had been doing everything for me.

Recalling what I had obtained...

I was supposed to learn the first three books with Wasp alone, right?

Whew, they were all rather strange.

I was excited in the beginning but how exactly do I learn these things?

”Young lady,” Wasp said.

”Yes?” I asked.

”Tell me, what do you think the Great Dao is?” he asked.

”What do I think it is? I donʼt know, perhaps the fundamental laws of creation, having to do with enlightenment and seeking truth and immortality or something?” I wondered.

”Youʼre not wrong,” Wasp nodded. ”It seems your knowledge is not that bad. You actually know a few things, good. In many cultures, seeking enlightenment is interpreted in a variety of ways, such as escaping eternal suffering, escaping death, surpassing life, and more.”

”I see,” I nodded.

”When you learn from me, I want you to think about it,” he said. ”What does it mean for you to fight back, to cultivate, to grow... Itʼs not just about wanting strength, right? Thereʼs something else beyond that.”

”...” I nodded silently.

”Now, before you read anything, we will begin with, as you guessed, a spar,” Wasp stood up after we had talked for a short while. ”We will fight with swords.”

”Swords?” I wondered, as Wasp gave me a bronze blade. ”This?”

”Now fight me,” Wasp said, standing still.

”...Okay?” I stepped forward, and then...

RUMBLE!

I rushed at him at lightning speed, my sword rushing toward his throat and...

CLANK!

He received it with his sword, sending mine flying with a loud clank.

”You lost.”

”Wait, I can still fight!”

”In a sword fight, you would have died by now.”

”...Okay.”

I went to retrieve my sword again, and we started fighting once more.

I didnʼt quite understand the point of it. I was already so strong, so what was swinging a sword going to help me with?

If anything, it was boring...

...

Or so I thought.

I began to become irritated.

Wasp was fast, his movements were incredibly precise.

He predicted all my attacks with ease.

He made me trip onto the ground more than a dozen times.

”Haaa...”

Somehow, I was tired.

This damn human-like body was at fault.

I had a powerful cosmic soul, but I was not using its power.

I was simply employing the strength of this body alone.

And indeed, it was very inferior to Waspʼs.

But it wasnʼt about stats.

No, it was about mastery over his own body.

Wasp wielded his body as if it were a weapon.

Every movement was precisely calculated.

Every single movement!

It was... insane.

I couldnʼt even fight the way he did.

When I got really mad, I just let go of my emotions and embraced my beast-like instincts.

But this was completely different.

The more I fought, the more I was... grasping something mysterious.

”Are you seeing it now, young lady? The more tired you feel, the more it feels good too, right?”

”What?! No!”

”I see itʼs related to your upbringing, being so spoiled by your father and everything... Donʼt worry, you will get used to it.”

He blitzed toward me, his sword hitting my head and sending me flying backward.

BAAAM!

I crashed into a mountain, feeling dizzy, noticing I had a big wound.

Slowly, I felt my head bleeding, blood dripping onto the ground.

”Ugh...”

Slowly, I stood up again, glaring back at Wasp with furious eyes

I pointed my sword at him.

Based on the movements he made, he always waited for me to strike first, or he surprised me with a blow to my head, shoulder, or chest.

Okay.

From what Iʼve observed, Wasp has three weak points.

Heʼs overly confident.

He never protects his rear for some reason.

Nor his crotch.

Is it because heʼs a bug and doesnʼt care about being hit in those areas?

Well, time to experiment!

FLASH!

I stepped forward, using the internal energy I had somewhat felt flowing through me as we progressed in our training match.

”Wait, what is this?!”

Just then, I realized I had that energy. It wasnʼt there before!

I wasnʼt using cosmic power because he had placed a damn seal on me.

Nor did I use skills because he had told me that special abilities were not allowed.

As I swung my blade...

I felt it.

Something sprouted from the very depths of my heart.

As I enjoyed this fight, I... felt that power emerging, lightly encompassing my blade.

Amateur at best.

But it was there.

What was this?

As someone who has always devoured to gain power or just acquired skills...

It was so odd to actually learn something and ingrain it into my body.

Hahah...

So this is what Iʼve been missing, huh?

CLASH!

CLASH!

CLASH!

We clashed briefly.

I swung my sword toward Waspʼs back, striking his rear with all my strength.

And yet...

”Hah, perhaps to humans, thatʼs a weak point? But to my race, thatʼs not really anything to worry about.”

Underneath his clothes, a scorpion-like tail emerged, swinging toward me and hitting my face like a whip.

”Ouch!”

I was sent flying, crashing into a large rock pillar.

CRASH!

The rock pillar fell onto my body, cracking into pieces.

I felt a lot of pain. My body was overly sensitive...

”Agh...”

Slowly, I crawled out, feeling my bones were broken.

I had to use magic to recover, maybe a skill and then—

”No.”

”Eh?”

However, Wasp walked toward me and then, infusing the tip of his finger with a bizarre power, he pierced my forehead with it.

”What?!”
