Li Yi took the scroll back to his shop. Little Merchant was not around, so Li Yi assumed that he probably went out to collect materials.

Li Yi went straight to the forging furnace on the second floor.

He opened the scroll in his hand.

[Skill Book: Forging Essentials (advanced)]

[Effect: Able to learn forging techniques and use them to forge equipment and weapons.]

After reading it, Li Yi immediately learned this skill.

[System Notification: Congratulations on learning Forging Essentials. Players may now forge equipment and weapons.]

After learning it, Li Yi’s system panel had an additional forging section, which clearly recorded all kinds of weapons and materials needed for forging equipment.

There was also a proficiency level at the side.

This was the advanced version of forging skill that could only be given by the younger brother. Normally, aside from professional players, ordinary players would not have such a proficient rating. In other words, the quality of ordinary players was fixed, while the quality of professional players could be improved.

After learning this skill, ordinary players could also use a life skill with a higher rating. In other words, ordinary players could also reach the standard of professional players, but through hard work.

Of course, the requirements for this skill were even higher. Moreover, the highest level of proficiency for an ordinary player could only reach 50% of those professional players. If one wanted to reach 100%, they had to become a professional player in the first place.

However, this was enough for Li Yi. After all, there were not many players who had reached level 25.

The current level rankings:

1. Carefree Dream, Level 25

2. Snow Flower, Level 25

3. Heavenly Blade, Level 24

4. Misty World, Level 24

5. Cool Summer, Level 24

…

That girl had been working hard and chasing him in terms of levels. However, the higher-level player was still Li Yi. Therefore, if Li Yi increases his proficiency to 50% in advance forging, it would be very difficult for her to catch up in a short period of time.

Moreover, Li Yi had already sent a message to Little Merchant to prepare the materials for improving proficiency.

He had just received a reply, and he would prepare all the materials Li Yi needed in ten minutes.

This time, Li Yi only wanted some ordinary materials, so it did not cost him much.

Ten minutes later, Little Merchant came to the shop and counted the materials one by one for Li Yi.

“Copper ore, fine wood, coarse wood, iron ore, stone, fine sand, coarse sand, coarse fur, broken horns… These are all things that no one wants. What are you going to do with them?”

“You don’t have to worry about that.”

Li Yi carried these materials back to the second floor and began to forge. He started with the iron sword, which was the easiest to forge.

Li Yi opened the material column of the iron sword. The required materials were clearly marked inside. Then, he marked the 1% proficiency required to forge the sword.

This was the best he could do for now. After everything was ready, Li Yi began to operate the furnace.

Twenty minutes later, a brand new iron sword appeared in front of Li Yi.

[Equipment: Iron Sword]

[Quality: Inferior]

[Attack: 15]

[Attributes: Strength +1]

[Equipment Requirement: Level 1]

Li Yi’s face was filled with dissatisfaction. He threw the iron sword on the ground, took out the materials, and began to forge something else.

Little Merchant was downstairs, listening to the loud noises coming from upstairs. He was on the verge of becoming deaf!

He could not help it anymore. Little Merchant went up to the second floor, but he was surrounded by an array of items. The stairs on the second floor were occupied by a bunch of low-quality iron swords. There was not even a place for him to step on.

“Carefree Dream! Carefree Dream!”

No matter how much Little Merchant shouted, Li Yi inside seemed to have not heard anything.

Seeing that Li Yi had no reaction, Little Merchant could only give up. He closed the door of the shop and left to get a peaceful mind.

After another hour, Little Merchant returned. Thinking that it had been a long enough time, it should be quieter inside.

Therefore, he returned to the shop. At this time, he was stunned. The first floor had already been occupied by Li Yi’s inferior quality iron swords.

The inferior iron swords on the ground were almost piled up into a mountain. Little Merchant had no choice but to push the inferior weapons aside and made a path for himself.

He could not take it anymore. If this went on, the shop would be filled with random items. Finally, he arrived at the second floor after much clearing.

The sound of Li Yi working could still be heard. He had no intention of listening or stopping at all.

Seeing Li Yi’s serious face, Little Merchant dared not disturb him. After all, he could not beat him. If the other party got angry, he would not have a good ending.

Little Merchant had found two pieces of paper and stuffed them into his ears. Looking at the iron sword on the ground, his eyes suddenly lit up. It seemed that the iron sword on the second floor was different from the one on the first floor.

Little Merchant picked up a decent-looking iron sword from the ground.

[Equipment: Iron Sword]

[Rarity: Excellent]

[Attack: 25]

[Excellent Attribute: Strength +5]

[Equipment Requirement: Level 1]

“An excellent weapon! And the attributes… aren’t that bad.”

Little Merchant was a natural businessman. He would always find business opportunities for anything he could get his hands on.

Li Yi had at least 20 of these iron swords on his ground. This quality might not be a big deal to current players. However, for newbies who had just entered the game, this kind of equipment could help them advance quicker in the Novice Village. For them, this weapon was the best of the best that they could get.

If he could set up a point in Every Novice Village to sell these iron swords, he was sure that many newbies would clamor and fight for these weapons.

Little Merchant’s eyes were shining brightly, it was as though he could already see the pile of money fright in front of him.

Little Merchant began to pick up the iron swords on the ground one by one. As he picked them up, he drooled. He looked like a really wretched witch.

Not long after, Li Yi finished all the materials in his backpack. He wiped the sweat off his head and looked at his proficiency.

[Proficiency in Forging: 15%]

…

It was just as expected, it was not that easy to increase his proficiency. However, it was a good sign that it had reached 15%.

Li Yi turned around to take a look at all the swords he had forged. However, when he turned around, he did not see a single sword in the room. When he came downstairs, everything was spick and span.

Not to mention, Little Merchant was nowhere in sight!

Li Yi sent a message to Little Merchant with a puzzled expression and asked about his whereabouts. Not long after, he received a reply saying that he would be back soon.

Li Yi waited for a while until Little Merchant returned.

He was full of smiles and threw a bag of money to Li Yi.

Li Yi’s eyes were blank and he was very confused.

“This is the money from the sale of your iron swords. I took one-tenth of it, and the rest is inside.”

“You sneaky kid, you did business behind my back.”

“Anyway, it would’ve been useless for you to keep those scrappy iron swords. You should be happy that we profited from this.”

Li Yi did not know how Little Merchant sold it. However, he was thankful as he was worried about how he could dispose of so many items in one go.

He did not expect that Little Merchant would help him solve this issue.. He was a better businessman than Li YI thought.
