Reborn As Noble

Chapter 946: Aura of Embrace ( 946 )

Why does Mother insist on not telling me who the last user is?

And what kind of power does the seventh user hold? Is it Father again? Or... could it be Heres?

Francesca, noticing Javier’s silence, spoke softly, her smile never fading.

”Honey bun~ Didn’t I already say you don’t need to worry about that?” she cooed.

”A-ah... I..I’m not thinking about it!” Javier stammered, looking away.

”Really?” Francesca’s tone grew almost playful, but her eyes pinned him in place. ”Because it seems to me you’re still letting it trouble you. Hmm?”

She sipped her tea with perfect grace, watching him over the rim of her cup.

Suddenly, Javier felt a pressure descend on him, a crushing, suffocating weight, far heavier than anything he’d experienced before. Even though it lasted only a second, it left his entire body trembling.

What... was that?

Could it be...?

Mother is the last user... and the strongest of them all?

”Now, my honey bun~ come here and hug your mother,” Francesca said, rising to her feet with a soft smile and opening her arms.

Javier stood, moving toward her a bit awkwardly. As he reached her, Francesca wrapped her arms around his neck, pulled him close, kissed his cheek, and hugged him tightly.

”My honey bun... No matter what, you’ll always be my boy. Mother will always protect you~ So don’t worry about anything, okay? If Mother says there’s nothing to worry about, then just live your life. We’ll never ask you to do the impossible. We know the limits of each of our children.”

She looked up into his face, her gaze affectionate.

”Now my baby boy is all grown up... Sob sob... He doesn’t love me anymore...” Francesca fake-sobbed, dabbing at her eyes with exaggerated drama.

Javier gave a helpless grin, rubbing the back of his head before hugging her tightly in return.

Francesca’s smile returned, radiant. ”That’s my honey bun.” She tapped his back lightly, then leaned up and gave him a quick peck on the lips. ”Now, go on~ I’m sure your future wives are waiting for you. But remember, Mother will always be here if you need anything~”

With a playful push, she sent him on his way.

After Javier left the room, Francesca’s soft smile lingered. She walked slowly toward the door.

Now~ there’s one more big boy who needs a very hard scolding. How dare he play tricks on my honey bun~

Her eyes glinted as she set off down the hall, already planning Garius’s well-deserved lecture.

Meanwhile, Javier walked slowly down the hallway, letting out a long breath.

Damn... I really worried myself over nothing.

I even built weapons just in case those Hand of Creation and Power of Destruction users ever turned evil... and all along, I was the bearer of both powers.

He exhaled again, shaking his head.

So what am I supposed to do with all that stuff I made now?

Seriously...

He shook his head with another sigh.

And how dare Liana and Gloria run off like that? They always say they’ll stand by me no matter what, but the moment Mother appears and tells them to see Erinnette, they bolt and leave me to fend for myself!

Javier sighed, glancing up at the ceiling as he walked.

Well... if even Father tries to quietly slip away when Mother gets serious, I can’t really blame them. It takes real guts to stand firm in front of Mother when she’s in that mood.

Javier slipped both hands into his pockets, shaking off the last of his worries.

Well... there’s no point overthinking it now. I know who the real bearers are, so it’s time to move on to the next project.

He walked with more purpose, ideas already swirling in his mind.

After the launch, I’ll hand Father the holo TV cube so it can be distributed to every city and village. That way, everyone will be able to watch live broadcasts. And the mana cam will handle all the real-time coverage.

I should ask Father to assemble a new team, too—something like an information and broadcasting unit. As for the radio, we’ll need a news crew, or maybe just build one up from scratch. There’s a lot to handle if I want all this to work right...

He rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

Now, how do I get them to record songs? Maybe I’ll ask Father about finding talent for that. If we have some real entertainment, the mana radio won’t just be for news—it’ll keep people interested.

Yeah... that should cover things for now. Like always, I’ll hand Father the rough plan and let him polish it up.

He let out a soft chuckle, already feeling more at ease.

Just like always... heh.

He stepped outside, making his way toward the Pekko pen.

Now... where are Felicia, Mimi, and Delya?

Liana and Gloria went to meet with Erinnette, so where did the other three go?

Javier glanced around the yard, only to see Buddy already charging toward him from across the field.

Well, at least Buddy’s here.

He couldn’t help but smirk at the sight, barreling toward him from across the field, talons stomping the earth, feathers puffed out, and tongue sticking out from his beak in excitement.

”Cuquawked!” Buddy squawked as he raced over, then began to circle Javier with exaggerated strutting and a series of smug, proud squawks.

”Cuquawked~ Cuquawked~ Cuquawked~”

Javier shook his head, smiling at his companion, then swung himself up onto Buddy’s back. ”Alright, Buddy. Let’s find an open spot away from the estate so I can launch my mana rocket and put my first satellite into orbit.”

”Cuquawked?!”

Javier paused, considering. ”Hmm... Now that you mention it, you’re right. We’re not supposed to leave the estate. Father said everyone needs to stay inside.”

He rubbed his chin, thinking it over.

Even if I could protect myself, and I doubt there’s anyone out there who could actually challenge me at this point... if Mother found out I’d left after being told to stay put, it’d be like inviting chaos. I really, really don’t want to end up on her bad side...

He let out a resigned sigh. ”Guess we’re stuck here for now, Buddy. Let’s just look for a spot behind the estate. Not worth risking Mother’s wrath.”
