Reborn As Noble

Chapter 921: Love Tackles and Live Feeds ( 921 )

”Thank you, little brother,” Heres said with a calm, genuine smile.

”Yeah, yeah. Don’t mention it. Now go find out for real if Kliatana’s pregnant. And if she is, the first thing you do is contact Father by mana talkie... No...better yet, bring Kliatana straight to Armand. With Pekko, you’ll be there in no time.”

”Alright. I’ll do it right away.” Heres stood, visibly lighter after talking things out, and gave Javier a grateful nod before heading to the door.

Javier stood as well, opening the door, only to find Liana, Gloria, and Heres’s personal maid all standing nearby, clearly caught in the act of eavesdropping.

Javier’s gaze narrowed.

Heres’s personal maid bowed politely and slipped away to follow her master, acting as if nothing was amiss.

Meanwhile, Liana and Gloria smoothed their uniforms with innocent smiles plastered across their faces.

”Young master~” they chimed in sweet unison.

Javier let out a long sigh and leaned in, lowering his voice. ”Better not say anything about this until it’s confirmed, alright?”

”Yes, young master~ Don’t worry,” Liana said sweetly.

While Gloria threw herself dramatically to the floor, clutching her chest.

”Sob, sob~ While Kliatana is so lucky to have Master Heres and ends up pregnant~ my young master here doesn’t do anything with me~ Only Liana gets any love... Sob, sob...”

Javier pinched the bridge of his nose, muttering under his breath, ”Here we go again...”

Liana just smiled, rolling her eyes at Gloria’s theatrics.

Javier shook his head, managing a small smile as he looked away.

”Fine... after this mission in Arjam’s done, you get your turn.”

Gloria, still sprawled on the floor with a handkerchief pressed dramatically to her lips, gave him a sideways glance. ”Re... really? Or is it just another empty promise~ Sob sob...”

”Promise, promise. Don’t worry. Once we’re all back in Armand.”

Gloria tried to stifle a grin, but kept up the performance, sniffling theatrically. ”Ah~ That promise again. I wonder how many years I’ve been hearing the same thing... Sob sob.”

Javier just sighed, gaze drifting up to the ceiling as his father’s words echoed in his mind.

But I really do wonder... who is this guest Father talked about?

”Hmm? Young master?” Liana asked, extending a hand to help Gloria up.

”No, nothing,” Javier replied, waving it off. ”Just... I can’t help but wonder how Father always knows about these things, about his guests before they even arrive, and how he can predict which route they’ll take. What makes this person, and his whole family, a guest anyway?... It’s odd.”

He rubbed his chin, still pondering as he moved outside. Liana and Gloria followed him into the courtyard, quietly watching as Javier settled onto a bench. He summoned his dimensional storage, pulling out the glasses and slipping them on.

The Sky Eye’s feed flickered to life, a floating holo screen appearing in front of him. Javier swiped and tapped through the different views, flipping through each road and region.

”Alright... I’ll deploy five battle drones on each route and sweep for any troublemakers. Father said to prioritize this guest and their family’s safety above all else. If I can’t send a formal unit, then I’ll prep the transport drone, load it with the new version puppet knights and stand by for emergencies.”

He tapped out the commands, eyes scanning the streams of real-time data.

Beside him, Liana and Gloria exchanged a look, while Javier’s focus narrowed, mind running through every possible risk, every scenario his father might have anticipated.

Javier stayed focused on the shifting screens in front of him, fingers tapping through each Sky Eye feed. Without looking up, he asked, ”Where are Felicia, Mimi, and Delya?”

Liana answered, calm as always, ”Felicia’s in her room reading. Delya fell asleep after lunch, I think...”

She glanced toward the house. ”As for Mimi, she’s probably...”

Before she could finish, a blur of movement zipped across the roof.

High above, Mimi was perched like a contented cat, dangling her legs off the edge. The instant she spotted Javier in the courtyard below, her eyes lit up.

”Husband-sama!!” she shouted, voice ringing out.

Before anyone could react, Mimi sprang from the rooftop, soaring down in a perfect arc. She landed squarely on Javier’s lap, sending him sprawling off the bench.

”O-offf!!” Javier wheezed as his back hit the ground, the glasses nearly tumbling from his face.

Gloria didn’t miss a beat. She leaned down, grabbed Mimi by the collar, and hoisted her off Javier with a sigh.

”Nya!? Gloriaaa! Let me go!” Mimi protested, feet kicking in midair.

Liana could only shake her head, exhaling quietly in frustration.

How does a princess of the Beastkin act like this? she wondered, glancing up at the roof where Mimi had been. And how does she climb up there like it’s nothing?

Javier just stared at the sky, arms splayed, a resigned look on his face.

”Can someone remind me why I’m the one stuck with all of this?” he muttered.

Liana knelt down to straighten his glasses, her lips twitching with a smile. ”It’s because you keep trying to add more girls into your harem and end up like this. Deal with it, young master~”

Gloria finally set Mimi down with a sharp flick to her forehead.

”Nyaa~! So mean!” Mimi pouted, rubbing the spot, her tail swaying back and forth.

Javier sat up, dusting off his clothes. ”Don’t just jump on people like that, Mimi. What if I were just a normal guy? I’d be dead by now.”

”Nya? But you’re strong, Husband-sama! I know you wouldn’t die from a little love tackle,” Mimi insisted, tilting her head, then happily plopping herself on Javier’s lap again as he retook his seat.

Javier just shook his head and turned back to the glowing screens.

”Nya? Why are you touching the air?” Mimi asked, frowning at his gestures, oblivious to the interface only he could see.

With a resigned sigh, Javier pulled out an extra set of glasses from his storage and slipped them onto Mimi.

”Woooo! What is this, nya?” Mimi’s eyes went wide, watching the sky-eye live feed and regional map overlays come to life. ”We can see the whole region from above?”

Liana and Gloria exchanged an amused glance before heading inside to prepare evening drinks, leaving Javier to Mimi’s endless curiosity.

”Nya!” Mimi chirped, tapping at the screen, entranced. ”How do you change the view? Can we see the Beastkin Kingdom with this?”

Javier leaned over, showing her how to swipe and zoom. ”Just like this, move it with your finger, and if you want a specific region, press here...”

”Nya!? Like this?” Mimi pressed the Armand map, and suddenly the live feed from Gaze Town’s market popped up, vivid and bustling.

”Nyaaa! Market! Oooohhh~ That food looks good!” Her eyes sparkled, tail flicking with excitement as she watched the vendors, the bright stalls, and the steam rising from street food.

Javier smile. ”If you want, maybe next time we go back, I’ll bring you to the market.”

Mimi’s ears perked up. ”Promise, nya?”

Javier nodded, resigned. ”Yeah, yeah. Promise.”

Mimi snuggled against him, eyes glued to the sky-eye feed, while Javier continued adjusting drone patrols and security commands, his ’love tackle’ assailant now happily occupied with high-tech sightseeing.
