A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 773: Chapter 771: Grimm’s Fairytales

Sixty years later.

”Oh? Grimm’s Fairy Tales? Interesting, interesting, interesting!”

The Five Rings True Spirit Wizard flipped through the Grimm’s Fairy Tales given as a legacy by Green, a look of great interest on his face.

Grimm’s Fairy Tales didn’t involve any witchcraft knowledge or even concepts of truth. Throughout the tale, it only narrated that an author named Green in the Wizard World wrote a fairy tale novel in his isolated, lonely moments.

The protagonist of the story is named Ketu. In the World of Gods, he was cruelly tormented by the world, faced with misfortunate fate, and the gods were the root of worldly suffering, seemingly invincible.

Only Ketu held on to his father’s unyielding belief that deities could be defeated by humans.

In his unending pursuit of self-determination, Ketu grew stronger and stronger, eventually defeating the so-called deities and restoring peace and beauty to the world.

Through perceptions of True Time, the Five Rings True Spirit Wizard effortlessly read through the Grimm’s Fairy Tales that Green spent sixty years writing in the span of an hourglass, lightly closing it afterward and storing it away.

The Five Rings True Spirit Wizard looked at Green, smiling, and said: ”The concept conveyed in your Grimm’s Fairy Tales shows that the protagonist, through endless pursuit and perseverance, ultimately defeats truth and fate and creates miracles.”

Pausing, the Five Rings True Spirit Wizard continued, ”Do you know what the Book of Destiny calculates as the consequences of any being in the Endless World daring to defy fate? Or do you believe your Grimm’s Fairy Tales surpass the Book of Destiny? When only one of them can truly exist, which do you think it is?”

Green remained silent, saying nothing.

Instead, Xiao Ba on his shoulder pecked a feather on his wing, impatiently saying, ”Damn it, if it weren’t for you back then, the Wizard World wouldn’t have had so many issues later, and now you’re pretending to be all mysterious! My young master spent sixty years giving you this Grimm’s Fairy Tales, and that’s plenty of favor; whether you get it or not, we’re done with it.”

The Five Rings True Spirit Wizard, hearing Xiao Ba’s words, momentarily entered a daze before chuckling lightly.

”Alright then, I’ll temporarily store this Grimm’s Fairy Tales in the World’s Heart, until...”

Suddenly, Green asked gravely, ”Esteemed Five Rings True Spirit Wizard, perhaps I, in reality, have no way to defy the rules of fate and the truths, but I have created Ketu’s destiny in Grimm’s Fairy Tales.”

”Hmm!? Are you saying...”

The light in the Five Rings True Spirit Wizard’s eyes flickered, and long after, awakening from deep contemplation, he glanced around at the Wizard World’s Deep Abyss shrouded in thick demonic Qi, looked at the vast land bearing the scars of the great Wizard Legion’s battle from decades past, exhaled a deep breath, and waved his hand.

”Go on, take your journey.”

...

A year and a half later.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

A fifty-meter shadow loomed over the ground, as ninety-three of the heads of the Enigmatic Thousand-Headed Bird cried out in unison. After many years under Xiao Ba’s meticulous care, this fearsome Synthetic Beast was inching ever closer to ninety-nine heads, theoretically reaching its third-level limit.

Up ahead, Abyssal Vampire Bats blotted out the sky as they swooped toward the ground, seemingly surrounding something.

As the immense bodies of the Enigmatic Thousand-Headed Bird and the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab flew over, these Abyssal Vampire Bats were instantly alarmed, scattering and escaping in all directions. Even the frighteningly aggressive creatures of the Abyss Continent’s surface were intimidated by the overwhelming oppressive aura.

On the ground, there appeared the stalwart and muscular physique of a male, barely exhibiting any sign of life, sitting silently like a rock, enduring the myriad calamities of the Abyss surface, and even allowing these Abyssal Bats to peck at him without resistance.

Of course, these Abyssal Bats couldn’t harm the man’s body, which possessed an extremely formidable physique.

”Who are you?”

The black-haired male raised his head, looking at the blurry, translucent figure on the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab, instinctively sensing a highly formidable being, causing even his thousand-year-unwavering rock-like heart to ripple slightly at this moment.

”Legendary Knight Ascetic?”

Shadow of Despair Grimm looked at the Legendary Knight with no small amount of curiosity swelling in his heart.

The cultivation method of a Legendary Knight relies on perseverance and tenacity, continuously merging with the limits of one’s bloodline sorcery, and even displaying the higher-strength capabilities of the original bloodline life form. This approach is fundamentally different from the Elemental Wizard’s pursuit of knowledge and truth or the Wild Body-Refining Wizard’s struggle for life and death evolution.

Green had once considered that perhaps the True Spirit Wizard who founded the Knight’s Persistence Academy should hold a position equivalent to a One Ring True Spirit Sorcerer, One Star True Spirit Sorcerer, One-Circle True Spirit Sorcerer, Sky City Mechanical True Spirit Sorcerer, or Black Domain True Spirit Sorcerer.

But in reality, this was merely Green’s fanciful thought.

The status of the Knight’s Persistence Academy in the Abyssal Underworld was merely enough to ensure that a Legendary Knight received protection under the Holy Tower Rules, not left helplessly stranded like those exiles. It didn’t come with more power.

”Are you an Elemental Wizard from the Wizard Continent? I sense an affinity between you and the Two Rings Holy Tower’s Elemental Shackles Ogny. Both are equally powerful, though you might be even stronger.”

The Ascetic Knight rose to his feet, facing Grimm directly.

”Elemental Shackles Ogny? Never heard of it.”

Elemental Wizards, unlike Abyssal Body Refining Sorcerers, do not need to frequently engage in duels and contests to vie for the position of Abyssal King.

Generally, within each Holy Tower, there are several, if not dozens of First-Class Honor Medal Demon-Hunter Wizards coexisting, while the strongest Third-Level Great Sorcerers focus solely on preparing to establish a Sorcerer’s Tower, concentrating entirely on ascending to the status of a Stigmata as a Great Witch Hunter.

”Sorry for the disturbance, but how far is it from here to the Perseverance Abyss?”

Grimm asked lowly.

”Gah gah gah gah, Young Master, I bet he won’t honestly tell you!”

Xiao Ba, having sensed the gradually awakening vitality and killing intent on the Ascetic Knight, laughed loudly.

”Hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm...”

Every inch of the Ascetic’s skin was layered with scars, yet at this moment, in the Knight’s laughter, the skin that seemed like gray stone blocks began to reveal astonishing vitality, turning supple like that of a young man.

”If you want to know, you’ll have to defeat me first! If you can beat me, I no longer need to challenge Ogny.”

”Boom!” With a sound, the ground beneath the Ascetic’s feet cracked in all directions. Gazing at the mysterious, semi-transparent figure atop the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab in the sky, runes of seven hues flowed, and controlling dual-color light shone from under the white mask.
