A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 755: Chapter 754: Abyssal Humans

This black rat that attacked him without reason made Green feel a kind of unsettling anxiety.

Whether it was the way it appeared outside the seal or the perfectly integrated ancient abyssal demonic qi on its body, along with Green’s instinctive intuition, all were warning him to be extremely cautious of this creature in front of him!

”Hmm? These ancient abyssal demonic qi...”

Green was shocked to discover that even though the ice power from the Essence of Snow Line had temporarily sealed it, the primal abyssal demonic qi at his wound seemed to have a will of its own. It was slowly breaking through the icy seal around it, attempting to invade Green’s flesh and blood.

At this moment, Green was in a state of combat, clearly unable to summon all his physical strength and cellular vitality to expel these abyssal demonic qi.

At this moment, Green couldn’t help but yearn for his Annihilation Force as an Elemental Wizard.

If he could restore his magic power, using the Annihilation Force to dissolve all energy and matter, even if this ancient abyssal demonic qi was more profound, using a bit more magic power to activate the Annihilation Force would suffice. This ancient abyssal demonic qi invading his body wouldn’t pose too much of a threat.

Yet, now with the magic backlash, Green, who had almost become a pure Wild Body-Refining Wizard over the years, indeed felt many inconveniences.

While Wild Body-Refining Wizards can rival Elemental Wizards in terms of strength, Green realized over the years that this so-called equivalence in strength was only superficial. Elemental Wizards’ deeper understanding and active evolution are far superior to pure Wild Body-Refining Wizards.

”Squeak, squeak! So apart from that female wizard, another male wizard without magic power came, and he’s even more suitable... How interesting, squeak, squeak!”

After some inexplicably eerie words, the black rat turned into a large mass of abyssal demonic qi with a ”poof” and disappeared without a trace.

”Gone!?”

Eyes filled with uncertainty, Green was ready to activate the power of the magnetism star core in his mouth to unlock the Third Layer of Wild Instinct, but it seemed the opponent left upon realizing Green was an Elemental Wizard.

Taking a deep breath, Green realized that the level of danger within this sealing space was likely far beyond his previous imagination. Without hesitation, he took out and put on the Face of Truth with one hand while draping the Robe of Appearances with Seven-Colored Neon over himself with the other hand. Confirming that the black rat was indeed not nearby, he didn’t pay attention to a few restless abyssal creatures around and turned invisible, vanishing.

Flying silently, Green arrived at an isolated, ruined ancient structure.

This was a several tens of meters high brick tower covered with black Abyss Moss, but only half of it remained, with the other half replaced by a gigantic four-toed footprint, as if an unimaginably large ancient creature had inadvertently flattened it with one step as it passed.

Pop, pop, pop, pop!

Spitting out four bone needles from his mouth, they accurately killed the four black and red patterned venom spiders at the center of a web. Invisible, Green sat slightly panting behind a spider web, looking down at his chest, which had been mostly eroded by the black ancient abyssal power.

”This is definitely not a normal means of controlling ancient abyssal demonic qi; such pure ancient abyssal demonic qi is simply unbelievable. Even the King of the Snow Thread Worms, as the World Master, could only condense the Ice Gyro by utilizing a large amount of the Acraepoid People’s vitality and souls, augmented with his advanced materials, forming the Essence of Snow Line, yet it couldn’t control this abyssal demonic qi. It’s terrifying.”

After so many years, Green had already mastered the techniques of blood and cellular strength used by Wild Body-Refining Wizards and was continually using his body’s instinctual power to drive out these ancient abyssal demonic qi.

”The re-opening time for this sealing space is limited to three days, yet I’m forced to spend a day here expelling these invading ancient abyssal demonic qi. What on earth is the background of this black rat, and what are its intentions? Why is it so sensitive to the identity of an Elemental Wizard, while not considering Body Refining Wizards as part of the wizard group at all?”

The female Witch mentioned by the black rat earlier was naturally the Forest Essence, Gilgamesh. Meanwhile, among the exiles, which included some abyssal Physical Cultivators, they were remarkably not considered wizards by the black rat.

Five hourglass intervals later.

Drip, drip, sweat dripped from his forehead, and Green, having expelled almost half of the abyssal demonic qi from his body, suddenly opened his eyes. Some disturbances in the silent abyss brought a sudden vigilance to Green.

With a ”poof,” an odd-looking creature covered entirely with Abyss Moss trying to crawl into the building was killed by an invisible Green with one sword.

Green, about to strike another odd eerie creature down, suddenly changed his expression; his Hunting Nose sensitively discovered the unusual aura of this creature.

Impossible!

Human?

”Ah...”

The creature following the bizarre-looking one Green had killed let out a hoarse cry, unable to accept the fact that its companion in front of it suddenly died without reason, its body severed in two, intestines spilling out.

At the same time, the creature, terrified, looked around, seemingly searching for a dreadful monster hidden within the dark abyssal demonic qi.

Invisible, Green knelt down incredulously, examining the low-grade creature he had killed with one strike. Its skin was covered with a thick layer of Abyss Moss, making them nearly invisible to many abyssal creatures. Its degenerated limbs were only suited for crawling, and its eyes lacked whites, seemingly possessing extraordinary sensitivity to the abyssal demonic qi environment.

Humanoid creatures, sub-human creatures, though their external forms resembled humans, their life systems were not human, from any research perspective of various wizard systems, they were not human.

Yet the crawling creature in front of him bore no resemblance in form to humans, but its inner cellular essence was genuinely human!

Green was shocked by this discovery.

This sealing space still harbored human populations, and they had inherited the evolutionary system of abyssal creatures without the presence of wizards?

Originally, according to Green’s thinking, searching for the remnants of the Nameless Ancient Demon naturally meant heading to the places where the abyssal demonic qi was most concentrated. It seemed those other ancient demon servants with different purposes had the same thought.

However, now it seemed Green unexpectedly found another more reliable method!

Since abyssal humans were discovered here, tracing back through history, aside from the Nameless Ancient Demon, some Ancient Wizards would also have been sealed together by the Stigma Sorcerers in ancient times. It was probably due to the urgent circumstances then that led to all this happening and the original sealing follow-up was yet to begin. The Stigma Sorcerer who enacted the Sealing Skill unexpectedly perished, and this seal was forgotten in this nameless corner of the Underground Abyss World.

However, the sealed Ancient Wizards must have been unaware of this, and they were undoubtedly awaiting the Stigma Sorcerers to reopen the seal to handle the aftermath, while battling the ancient demon servants of the Nameless Ancient Demon within the seal, collecting some fallen Nameless Ancient Demon remains.

But this seal was never opened during the Ancient Wizards’ lifetime, and without the special societal system among Wizards, their descendants have, after countless enduring years of survival and reproduction, evolved into these abyssal humans...

Wizards, unlike some passively evolving creatures, will not see the emergence of High-Order Wizards without societal system coordination, without division of research knowledge, without low-grade wizards building the Sorcerer’s Tower magic power source.

And if there’s no will guided by high-grade wizards to create a ”greenhouse,” then the frail physique of ordinary humans, if not extinct, will self-evolve for survival and re-emerge as passively evolving beings.
