Hum, hum, hum…

The Destructive Force Gauge was running. According to the progress of his experimental notes, Grimm placed a tooth of a Fulvous Mouse into the Energy Intensified Rubber Cube of the gauge, waiting for the rubber gel to transform from liquid to solid.

The Fulvous Mice fed on high-density crystals and rarely emerged on the surface of the Sorcerer World. Some Fulvous Mice even spent their lifetime underground. Therefore, they were relatively unfamiliar creatures to many sorcerers.

The Fulvous Mouse’s teeth, however, were very precious. They were made of hard basic material and were highly magical.

In another Destructive Force Gauge, a piece of tumor resin previously placed in had gradually solidified like the Energy Intensified Rubber Cube.

Tumour resin was an incredible energy insulating material. The alchemists could make use of their remarkable characteristics to create some extraordinary apparatus.

“Puff…”

Frowning and sighing, Grimm tried to evict his confused mind and fluttering heart, and devoted himself to the experiments.

“Starting from the Fire Blast Spell during sorcerer-apprentice times, this is the fifth century since I’ve started studying Destructive Energy. If only I master Destructive Energy, then…”

With this in mind, Grimm retrieved two severed branches and used the Dynamic Vision under the Mask of Truth to visually observe the thunder patterns on them.

Grimm spent an even longer time observing the thunder patterns on the severed branches than his research on the Destructive Force.

Right now, Grimm had absorbed nearly three-fifths of the thunder patterns on the severed branches. When he had absorbed them all, he could use this as a basis to regenerate a new Thunder Law.

Grimm wondered if this peculiar thunder might contain a more prodigious secret than the Destructive Force.

If it were not with the help of the Dynamic Vision to observe these thunder patterns, he would not have achieved the present level even if he had spent tens or hundreds of thousands of years studying it.

“Huh? What happened? The speed of absorbing the thunder patterns has increased suddenly! Is it because I’m getting closer to the later stages?”

While Grimm was taken by surprise, a bizarre feeling struck him. Was the effect of these thunder patterns to break the barriers to promotion? Did it mean it could force the mental strength to break through the bottleneck?

If the speed persisted…

He could be promoted to a Level-2 Sorcerer in less than a year!

By that time, he would have a better chance to go to the Infernal Spirit World to get the Infernal Spirit Scriptures.

Little Myna flew in from outside.

“Master, Millie asked me to pass you her message. She said that she doesn’t care about your past and is willing to give everything to you.”

Grimm pretended he did not hear anything and focused on the thunder patterns.

However, Little Myna’s next statement surprised Grimm to the point that he nearly dropped the severed branches.

“Caw caw, Master, Millie also asked me to tell you discreetly that she loves you and only you. She doesn’t mind the thing between you and her sister, you are hers. You can’t stop the mutual attraction because both of you are Body of Flames!”

“Enough! Not another word!” Grimm growled agitatedly, his face blushing a bright red.

His anger and frustration subsided as he saw Little Myna’s innocent frown.

Could it possibly be that the sleazy and evil side of his heart was anticipating such a result? As a sorcerer, he did not want anyone to see his corrupted side, so he tried to hide his thoughts and rebuked Little Myna instinctively.

Suddenly, Grimm’s crystal ball was connected. It was Wicky!

Despite their friendship, they had not contacted each other much and it was still too early to go on the expedition. What was this call about?

Grimm executed his Magic Power and connected the crystal ball transmission.

“Wicky, what’s up?”

Grimm donned a gray-white Mask of Truth, his dual-colored eyes were full of mystery and wisdom. On the other side, Wicky seemed to hesitate for a while before he finally spoke.

“Grimm, I have been thinking about this for a long time. You once said during the Sorcerer-Apprentice Holy Tower Apex Battle that you are willing to bid the highest price you can afford in exchange for my Activated Reincarnation Great Sorcery, do you remember?”

Grimm’s eyes flickered, he gasped and quickly replied, “Of course I remember!”

Wicky nodded. His face was still as rigid as always, but his eyes as he glanced at Grimm brimmed with yearning desire.

“I’ve made up my mind. If you can use your Rank-1 Honor Badge to facilitate your authority and assist me in obtaining a Rank-3 Honor Badge in this Demon-Hunting Expedition of the Infernal Spirit World, I will hand over the experimental knowledge of my Activated Reincarnation Great Sorcery to you.”

Grimm blinked in astonishment. He cleared his throat and asked, “That’s a simple term and condition. Are you sure?”

Wicky nodded earnestly. “Yes, I’m sure! Because I value you more than the Honor Badge! You are not truly a Dark Sorcerer. You have a kind of breath that is trustworthy and reassuring like the Bright Sorcerer! A friend in need is a friend indeed, that’s what friends are for!”

What else could Grimm say? How could he say no to that?

“Uh… Okay then.”

Wicky expressed a wide smile of eagerness and gratitude when he heard Grimm’s answer. He nodded before disconnecting the crystal ball communication.

Holding the crystal ball, Grimm zoned out, his mind blanked out in confusion and skepticism at the same time.

Knock, knock, knock…

At this moment, a series of loud knocks echoed from the door.

“Senior Grimm!”

Little Myna screamed excitedly at Grimm, “Master, it’s Vivian. She has successfully been promoted to an official sorcerer!”

Little Myna flapped his wings and opened the castle door. Grasping a magical staff, Vivian entered the castle, her appearance was as youthful and pretty as ever. She trotted into Grimm’s arms and embraced him snugly. A mature lady’s breath radiated from her body.

“Senior Grimm, thank you! If it weren’t for your wisdom, I might not have had a chance to be promoted to an official sorcerer ever in my life.”

Grimm frowned. “My wisdom?”

Vivian let go of her arms. She stared into Grimm’s eyes and gave a lovely smile. “Did you think I didn’t know? The way you treated me at the Holy Tower of Seven Rings, I knew you were doing that for my own good. As my body was restricted under the curse, I tried to feel the differences between the Holy Tower of Seven Rings and the Sorcerer World, and I succeeded! I was finally able to sense the Balanced Law of the endless world.”

Vivian looked as if she had fallen into some kind of fanaticism. She stared at Grimm with adoration, just like a believer seeing her god!

Muack!

Vivian smacked a girlish kiss on Grimm’s Mask of Truth. She said in a relaxed tone, “Senior, hurry and tell Master the good news!”

Hum, hum, hum…

The Destructive Force Gauge began to enter the energy mixing phase. The black Destructive Flame ignited, distorting the light in the Demon-Hunter Castle and attracting it in. Vivian widened her eyes and her mouth gapped in bewilderment.

“Senior, is this your experiment? You are so awesome!”

Grimm looked at Vivian, reserved. He saw pure and sincere worship brimming in her eyes, just like the way he used to look at and admire Eldest Apprentice-Sister Quiet Spring.

Consuming the Null World Stone, Grimm contacted Master Peranos.

A withered face appeared.

After saluting to the master, Grimm took a deep breath and said, “Master, Vivian has been promoted to an official sorcerer.”

“Hahahahaha…” Master Peranos laughed. The way the Infernal God looked at Grimm was a little peculiar, it made Grimm’s heart flutter.

“It is a matter of due course that Vivian is promoted to be an official sorcerer. You, however, are a piece of work! I never knew you could be so secretive with your situation.”

Grimm asked, baffled, “My situation?”

“Hahahaha, Black Isotta has already informed me about your situation. Rank-1 Honor Badge! You are finally in the same position as your Eldest Apprentice-Sister Quiet Spring. No, you have surpassed her! Even Quiet Spring did not achieve what you have achieved when she was a Level-1 Sorcerer!”

Peranos burst out laughing.

“Hahahaha, Grimm, marvelous! You are my pride, you are the pride of Netherheart Stigmata Sorcerer’s traits! The time for Black Isotta to advance as an Eight Rings Celestial Sorcerer is just around the corner, he will definitely take you under his wings then!”

Peranos tilted his head and looked at Vivian who was standing behind Grimm.

“You have to learn from your Senior Grimm, do you hear me?”

Vivian nodded and replied timidly, “Yes.”

At this point, the Null World Stone had almost exhausted its consumption. The crystal ball blurred for a second before the communication link between Grimm and Peranos disconnected.

Buzz…

Almost at the same time, after the Destructive Force Gauge vibrated and tumbled slightly, the light in the castle returned to normal. As Grimm grabbed the quill pen and was ready to jot down the test results, he froze in shock.

The experimental specimen was perfectly preserved in the Destructive Force Gauge!

“Caw caw, Master! Master! We’ve succeeded! Look, the tooth of the Fulvous Mouse is still intact! We’ve finally found the carrier of the Destructive Energy!” Little Myna shouted in excitement. Vivian had a joyful smile on her face.
