The battle waged on for five days and five nights.

Grimm, Little Myna, Claudia, and tens of thousands of elite Demon-Hunters were hovering on top of the Void Fortress. Even as the battle grew fierce, they had no intention of getting their hands dirty, and that included Black Isotta.

It was not their mission.

Every Demon-Hunter Sorcerer had their own missions. They each had their roles to play.

As the army of the Acraepoids had been crushed, and not even a single Flame Burrow could be seen standing within the huge Darkglow Capital, sorcerers were now flying back and forth between the capital and the fortress. An army of Mechanical Marionettes had even started to show up, transporting the wounded as well as the spoils of war.

“Heeheeheehee, move out!”

The space around him was distorted. Black Isotta was like a collapsing black hole free-falling toward the Darkglow capital.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…

Tens of thousands of Bright Sorcerer legions followed suit in an organized fashion but they were left far behind by Black Isotta.

Only hundreds of sparse, disorganized Dark Demon-Hunter Sorcerers turned into fireballs and crashed into the capital at full speed after menacing laughs.

Although they were not as fast as Black Isotta, they were much faster than the Bright Sorcerers.

“Heeheeheeheeheehee…”

Little Myna mimicked the sinister laughter of the other Dark Demon-Hunter Sorcerers. As low-level sorcerers, the quiet Grimm and Claudia glared at the myna. The myna awkwardly said, “Caw caw, I was just feeling the moment.”

Grimm was speechless. He turned around, trying to maintain the Sorcerer’s Barrier’s form that was constantly affected by the turbulent air frictions. This required a considerable amount of Grimm’s focus.

A simple technique like this contained quite an amount of skill.

Even with the Sorcerer’s Barrier, it was not something that an ordinary Arcane Sorcerer could accomplish.

Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!

The Dark Demon-Hunter Sorcerers crash-landed onto the ground at a much higher speed than the Bright Sorcerers, producing craters in the ground. Unlike their past expeditions, they did not summon elemental creatures the first chance they had.

Thousands of soul slaves around them did not even dare to raise their heads. They greeted the noble sorcerers with the humblest of their postures.

Thousands of Demon-Hunter Sorcerers, who were the first batch directed to do a clean sweep of the surrounding area, bowed down to the elite sorcerers as per the sorcerer’s etiquette.

Among the hundreds of Dark Demon-Hunter Sorcerers, all of them had Rank-3 Honor Badges. Some of them even had Rank-2 Honor Badges, and on top of that, there were two others who carried a Rank-1 Honor Badge aside from Grimm!

Grimm had already gotten used to other people’s stares like the Third Ghostpepper’s.

Following the huge distorted cracks of footprints on the ground, the group of Dark Demon-Hunters came to the Darkglow temple square.

At the temple square, the Chief Priest had been chained up and was forced to kneel by two Level-3 sorcerers. He had almost gone mad, yet he could only kneel in front of the godly sorcerer helplessly.

Swoosh…

Like a cold breeze, thousands of Bright Sorcerers gently touched down. They formed an organized line across the four directions of the temple square. Elemental powers began to converge from all four directions. An unmistakably powerful elemental ripple filled the air.

“Evil sorcerer god, by the great Divine Light of the Darkglow Infernal God, one day you will..”

The Chief Priest’s cheek was brushing against the brick stones of the ground. He was cursing and howling.

The brick was covered in blood. The sweet fragrance of death of an Acraepoid was emitting from it. It was the blood of another priest. The Chief Priest looked so pathetic and helpless.

Determined and unrelenting.

The Chief Priest was struggling. He could not free himself from the chains as well as the two Dark Demon-Hunter Sorcerers’ clutches.

He was forced to kneel down to a terrifying god of the sorcerers, whose space around him were collapsing continuously. He could not even see him clearly. He could only see the eyes, which were filled with cruelty, evilness, and coldness that struck fear in his heart.

As he looked at him, the Chief Priest thought that he had seen the devil’s reincarnation.

It was a raw form of ruthless will that had not been sugarcoated. The power of his will was overwhelming and crushing down on other wills.

Behind him were his evil minions. They wore strange clothes and seemed to find beauty in ruthlessness, violence, and peculiarity.

The sorcerers surrounding them that seemed to be noble and highly cultured had merely changed their skins. They still carried the evil, cruel Sorcerer’s Will within them.

The Chief Priest howled and cursed without stopping.

Perhaps the others were afraid; had surrendered, or had lost all hope. But as a medium of the great Darkglow Infernal God, His most faithful servant of the masses, the Chief Priest of the Darkglow Infernal God would never compromise!

“Heeheeheeheeheehee…”

Suddenly, with a deep, sinister laugh, Black Isotta reached out his frail hand. The Chief Priest, who had been cursing, let out a scream before being sucked in.

The Chief Priest was struggling as he was sucked into the powerful force of the frail hand. One could see the whites of his eyes.

Within a few breaths, the Chief Priest’s once smooth, green skin withered and bubbles foamed from his mouth.

As if he had acquired the information he needed, Black Isotta released the Chief Priest from his control. The withered Chief Priest started to regain consciousness.

“You… you can see inside my memory? You monster, you…”

Before he could finish his words, Black Isotta, whose patience had worn thin, casually waved. The Chief Priest was thrown tens of meters away. Black Isotta then pointed a finger at him.

Boom!

A black-light column that was meters-wide tore through the Chief Priest. The priest was reduced to ashes in an instant; not one part of him remained.

As if it was natural, each step taken by Black Isotta caused distortion underneath his feet. The grounds beneath him crackled and shattered.

Black Isotta walked slowly before coming to a stop. He lightly stomped on the ground.

Bam!

The impact caused a ripple in all directions. The ground beneath him started to crumble and collapse, revealing a huge, dark, hole.

Screech…

Hundreds of red-eyed ice bats flew out. As they came within hundreds of meters of Black Isotta, his eyes swept across them through the distorted space. The bats began to explode in a mist of blood. Their corpses fell back into the hole.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…

Grimm and the hundreds of Dark Demon-Hunter Sorcerers were among the first to follow Black Isotta into the ancient sealing formation. Tens of thousands of Bright Sorcerers followed suit.

Without much effort, the huge square was once again empty.

***

Three hourglasses later, within the deep layers of the seal.

Black Isotta was in the front. He seemed unstoppable as if he was taking a leisurely stroll.

Black Isotta proceeded to obliterate the fiery chains. The azure-ice river around it began to melt. As the Snowthreads, that looked like wriggling worms, began to gather toward the light, the back of a huge Snowthread that was tens of meters long began to appear.

“Heeheeheehee, three more to go.”
