Chapter 433: Abyssalization

Grimm picked up some corpse specimens from the ground and walked to the faint Six Asterism Magical Array. After shutting down the magical array, he put the Acraepoids’ remains in a crystal flask.

“It stinks!”

Perched on Grimm’s shoulder, Little Myna pinched his nose and screamed, “It’s common for the land to be in such a corrosive situation in the initial abyssalization stage. I’d experienced it in the Ancient Sorcerer World, at that time, the Sorcerer World was full of such weird smells!”

Grimm, on the other hand, was indifferent. He seemed to be rather relaxed and nonchalant when it came to the sour and unpleasant smell of these corroded corpses.

In the spirit of his meticulous experimental attitude, Grimm drew some conclusions after visually inspecting the bottles of corpses that he had collected.

“This small scale Abyssal Moss expansion is strongly erosive only to the weak creatures below a Constitution of one, while for creatures between the Constitution of one to three, they will experience varying degrees of weakening.”

After a deliberate pause, Grimm started to analyze some other data.

“Based on the time frame of the progress, it should have been a year and a half ago when the Demon-Hunter was here to arrange the Abyssal Moss and cultivate the magical array as part of his task, and the initial outbreak of the Abyssal Moss should be three months ago, the interval is about one year.”

After drawing a clear conclusion from the data he had obtained, he jotted it all down in a mission note, making a simple comparison with the intelligence information he procured at the Battle Command.

“I can’t take it anymore! Master, pardon me, I need to get away from here!” Little Myna growled repulsively as he pinched his nose and gagged in disgust. He hastily cracked a chasm and squeezed himself into the Dimensional Gap.

Claudia stood next to the magical array that was nearing complete shutdown, examining a piece of Onyx remains in her hand.

She grinned after listening to Grimm’s analysis and said, “Well, this is the reason why the initial outbreak of the Abyssal Moss here has caught the attention of the Infernal Spirit World Guardians. The secret lies on this crystal.”

Claudia threw the crystal to Grimm.

Grimm caught the crystal in a swift motion. He sensed the final energy residue in the crystal and exclaimed in shock, “Blood Force?”

He added after catching his breath, “This unique Bloodstone belonging to the Infernal Spirit World cultivates the Abyssal Moss! It seems that there may be a mining site for this Bloodstone within this vassal kingdom.” He was satisfied as he got hold of useful information.

Beneath the Mask of Truth, Grimm scanned his surroundings with his dual-colored eyes. The place was eerily quiet without any birds tweeting or bugs chirping.

The fog-like dark abyss breath was floating in the sky like a group of devils wailing and howling.

With the support of the Sabbatic Goat Staff, Grimm walked to a withered red pine. The tree was about thirty meters tall and the bark was scattered with black Abyssal Moss.

The Abyssal Moss was like a creeping poisonous carpet. Seemingly weak but in fact, wherever they spread their poisonous moss, death would follow.

Slowly and lightly, Grimm clawed a tiny piece of the red pine bark. The trunk inside looked like rotten wood that had been aged for thousands of years. It was thoroughly chewed on by maggots, creating patches and patches of disgusting-looking scars and dross.

Creak…

Thump!

Grimm pushed it lightly and the withered red pine collapsed with a loud thump.

“Well, it seems that the Abyssal Moss can cause more invasive damage to plants. This pine tree has suffered much more erosion than any of the creature specimens.”

Not far away, Claudia, who was also observing the creature specimen, called out in surprise, “Grimm, come over here! The abyssalized plants have begun to appear!”

Huh?

Grimm dashed towards her hurriedly.

It was a small patch of colorful thorn bush. Their branches spread out like thorny tentacles as if warning Claudia to keep her distance.

A small corpse was entangled inside the thorn bush like a large thorny cocoon.

Any great cataclysm, including the abyss cataclysm, was not to exterminate the lifeforms of a world, but to replace the lifeforms derived from the previous law with new lifeforms that were more adaptable to the new law after the World’s Law had changed.

In the world after the abyss cataclysm, unless the World Force purified all the Abyssal Moss, all the creatures would undergo an irreversible abyssalization process in order to survive.

When a world became abyssalized and the abyss civilization befell this world, the second step of the abyssal civilization invasion would proceed—World Conception.

An auxiliary space would evolve inside this world as a wonderful abyss space to breed unlimited Abyss Dragons, just like the underground abyss in the Sorcerer World.

With a swift motion, Grimm broke a small abyssal thorn bush.

Wah wah wah…

When the thorny branches were snapped, they howled loudly like a human toddler crying and extended their claw-like branches to attack Grimm but they were no match for him.

As Grimm easily avoided their attacks, he glared at the colorful branches in his hands.

Dark red juice dripped from the broken branches, exuding a sour and rotten smell like a pool of rancid blood. Even when it was broken from the bush, the branches struggled like a gecko’s tail, illustrating its strong vitality.

Grimm retrieved a tweezer and carefully plucked the thorns from the branches in his hand and stored them into a crystal flask.

Claudia witnessed the encounter and said in a deep voice, “The toxicity of these abyssal plants is very unique, they can stimulate some of these creatures’ ancient memories that can trigger a sense of pain and weakness after revealing their wild instinct. That’s why there are so many Flying Dragon Anatomy Refinery Sorcerers in the Sorcerer World’s underground abyss.”

“Hmm.” Grimm nodded with a low hum. Of course, he was well aware of the basic information about these anatomy refinery sorcerers.

Grimm collected these poisonous stingers for the same reason.

Grimm had always been speculating the reason why he could release Wild Instinct easily, it might have something to do with his Life Code Rupture.

Did the toxin stimulation of these underground abyss plants have some kind of connection with the Life Code as well?

This was one of Grimm’s future refinery experiment directions.

Claudia sighed and continued on, sounding sentimental, “If a large area is contaminated by Abyssal Moss, as well as being completely cleansed by the Celestial Sorcerer’s Energy like the Ancient Sorcerer World, the only way to overturn this is the automatic self-purification using the World Force initiated by the World Guardians. These abyssal creatures have a very extraordinarily tenacious vitality.”

Grimm pondered upon her words for a while before he spoke, “Indeed, abyssal creatures are the most powerful natural evolutionary creatures that have ever been recorded by the Sorcerer World. However, for the unnatural creatures, I’m afraid that the Six Rings Algae that the Holy Tower of Six Rings uses to govern the stigmata craters and necro-craters, has a far more powerful vitality than the abyssal creatures. The combination of wisdom, imagination and creativity of the sorcerers will eventually surpass the limits of the real world.”

Six Rings Algae is a horrible creature created by the Six Rings Celestial Sorcerers in order to eliminate the turbulent laws remaining in the stigmata craters and necro-craters of the Sorcerer World.

The degree of threats from the creatures, in Grimm’s view, was far beyond the Abyssal Moss!

It was precisely because of its repugnant existence that even the Six Rings Celestial Sorcerers had to follow the rule restrictions when using it, otherwise, it was likely to become the source of disaster for the Sorcerer World that was far larger than the necro-craters.

It was an experimental product with a volatile characteristic of destruction, which was for self-production purposes. It was a devil that violated the balanced law of the endless world.

“Six Rings Algae?” It was the first time Claudia had heard of such a secret.

For the average Demon-Hunter, the vastness of the Sorcerer World was far beyond their imagination.

In this way, the existence of the Sorcerer World was a mysterious, powerful and demon-filled horrible world for this world’s community.

After scanning their perimeters silently again, Grimm paused for a moment and said, “Since some plants have shown the initial signs of abyssalization, let’s break up and look closer to see if there are any other abyssalized creatures.”

“Okay.”

Claudia and Grimm parted in two different directions.

Claudia walked towards the low-rise Flame Burrow buildings, while Grimm walked along the slightly denser wild Abyssal Moss.

After a while, Grimm and Claudia gathered again, showing their latest findings.

On Grimm’s hand, there was a completely translucent ice cube, where a vole-like creature was frozen in.

The fur of this creature had begun to fall off partially, forming bald patches all over its body like clusters of disgusting tumors. Its demonic expression coupled with its sharp fangs did not fit the harmonious law of this world at all.

Meanwhile, on Claudia’s hand, there was a beetle the size of a baby’s fist with a fiery poisonous scorpion’s tail stuck in it.

The beetle’s exterior was as dark as night, its two large mandible teeth were a shocking sight to behold. The teeth took up half of its body, they were retracted in its mouth like a giant straw, as if it could pop out at any time.

Grimm fell silent upon the shocking sight. The creatures had been so horribly deformed even at the initial stage of abyssalization.

From the looks of it, if he wanted to master his practice in the higher levels of anatomy refinery in the future, the trip to the underground abyss of the Sorcerer World was imperative.

“Let’s go. Camouflage yourself, let’s try to look for an Acraepoid village or city that is on the edge of the Abyssal Moss expansion area and study the effect of abyssalization on ordinary Acraepoids. Then, we can secretly search for information about the Bloodstone, it might be a hidden Rank-3 Honor Hadge mission.”

For the Level-1 Demon-Hunters’ Demon-Hunting expedition, the remuneration of Sorcerer Essences was no longer based on each mission like the ordinary Demon-Hunters, but it was based on the level of contribution logged by the Battle Command.

Unless their expedition failed, the revenue earned by a Level-3 Demon-Hunter with a Rank-1 Honor Badge was incomparable with the average sorcerer.

Even for a Level-1 Sorcerer like Grimm, even if his contribution was insignificant, the amount of his revenue would knock the average Demon-Hunter’s socks off.

This was because with the support of a large amount of intelligence information, the Rank-1 Honor Badge Demon-Hunters could easily offset other Demon-Hunters’ Honor Badge missions by issuing side conquests and other means.

The existence of the Rank-1 Honor Badge Demon-Hunters were to replace Stigmata Sorcerers and the Battle Command in covering up the loopholes in the Demon-Hunting expeditions.

With a deep and hoarse growl, Grimm’s body began to reform slowly.

Gradually, Grimm appeared in the form of a hundred-fifty-meter tall green-skinned Acraepoid that looked strikingly similar to other Acraepoids. He had already mastered this world’s language like a local.

While changing into the Acraepoids’ clothing, Grimm turned his head and looked at Claudia.

As the pink mist swirled, Claudia appeared in the form of a female Acraepoid, a fiery red feather coat covered her naked body. In the Acraepoid culture, only nobles and aristocrats could wear such a luxurious clothing.
