Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

”Lord, I dare not, but didn’t you say that the ones kidnapping the Right Minister are the Northern Red Scarf? I think the people of the Northern Red Scarf would dare.”

The attendant said to Tuotuo. Upon hearing this, Tuotuo’s eyes flickered with a hint of temptation, but it quickly dissipated as he spoke, ”Hama is the Right Minister of a nation, concerning the National Fortune, and even the Living Buddha is watching. If we act rashly to kill him, one mistake and if the Living Buddha finds out, it will be a total defeat.”

”Therefore, we can delay his return to the capital, but we must not harm his life. In fact, we can’t even hide this matter from the Living Buddha. So, you go and request the Demon Slayer Monk, his wounds have just healed, let him take charge of this matter.”

The attendant looked at Tuotuo and said, ”Lord, this Demon Slayer Monk has always been eccentric, how could he help?”

Tuotuo said, ”Tell him that I asked him to go, and he will go. He still owes me a life-saving debt. This is the time for him to repay.”

”Yes, I understand.”

The attendant replied, Tuotuo thought it over again, feeling that there was nothing left out, then said, ”That’s it, go and take care of it.”

”Yes!”

The attendant responded and immediately went out to do the work.

At this time, in the Buddhist Hall of the Great Buddha Temple, three figures were sitting there, a strong man, a youth, and a child?

Sitting on the front mat was a child who appeared to be only seven or eight years old, bald, with one arm, wearing a moon-white monk’s robe, his face innocent like a child’s, but his eyes were filled with the vicissitudes of time, as if he could see through the world.

Yes, this is the National Guardian Living Buddha of the Daqian Empire, Living Buddha Basiba.

He is 121 years old this year, but looking at his appearance, you would never believe he is a 121-year-old man. On the contrary, he looks more like a child.

In fact, he did not originally look like this. He used to have the appearance of a kind elder. It was only after being injured last time that he reversed his age with a Buddhist Secret Technique and rebuilt himself.

This technique is called the [Relic Reincarnation Technique!]

This technique allows a person to reverse their age, thereby healing all injuries on the body. In the last battle of Wending Mountain, he fought fiercely with Han Shantong, leading to the destruction of his golden body, was seriously injured, and even lost an arm. The severity of the injuries was unprecedented.

And in order to repair his injuries, Basiba used the [Relic Reincarnation Technique] at the Great Buddha Temple, sacrificing a golden body relic, to exchange for a chance of rebirth.

He only needs to recuperate for a year, and then his body will grow at a rate of half a year per month, and after a year, his body will reach 24 years old, the prime age, thereby gaining a new life.

Of course, there will be a small problem in this process, which is that during this period, his own cultivation will go through an unstable phase. In other words, his strength now is probably not as strong as an Earthly Immortal, although it is still far stronger than a typical Melt God Realm.

If he was willing to endure a little harm, he could even display the strength of a Land Immortal Level, but the price could be that when he reaches the Perfect Realm, his original Immortal Realm strength might decline.

This is something he absolutely cannot bear. You must know that he has always been evenly matched with Zhang Sanfeng, and this is the foundation of the establishment of Daqian. As long as his strength is not weaker than Zhang Sanfeng’s, then the National Fortune of Daqian will not be affected.

So Living Buddha Basiba was willing to risk damaging a relic to rebuild his body because only by doing so can he ensure that his combat power does not decline, maintaining parity with the one from Wudang.

Only then can he sustain the balance of high-end combat power, allowing Daqian to hold on for a few more years.

And what is the cost of this? It’s one of his golden body relics.

It is known that the Buddhist pursuit is the cultivation of merit, and when merit is accomplished, it becomes a golden body relic. The number of golden body relics relates to the level of Buddhahood one will attain in the future.

To lose one golden body relic means Basiba lost a piece of merit on his path to Buddhahood. For a Buddhist disciple, that’s a terrifying expense, as most Buddhist disciples would not spend the blessings of the next life for the present life.

It can be said that Basiba made an unprecedented sacrifice in doing so.

Of course, this was also a compromise made in his capacity as a National Master.

He recalled back in the day, he was just the lowest horse slave on the grassland, on the verge of starving to death, but it was the Heavenly Khan who saved him, gave him a bite to eat, and sent him to the most reputable White Tower Temple on the grassland to learn the Buddhist Law.

Thus changed his destiny. He will never forget the kindness of the Heavenly Khan, even though the Khan later forgot he had ever saved a horse slave.

But he must remember this kindness; this is what the Buddha talks about sowing causes and reaping results. What cause you sow, you reap what results!

The unintentional action of the Heavenly Khan back then accomplished today’s Living Buddha Basiba, and to repay the favor of the Heavenly Khan of those days, Basiba sacrificed his golden body relic, guarding Daqian for over a hundred years, this is the payback.

This aligns well with the Buddhist teaching of doing good and accumulating virtue. If the Heavenly Khan hadn’t casually done good and saved a humble little horse slave, how could there be the Living Buddha Basiba today?

It is precisely because of this one cause and result that the current scene is formed.

The Living Buddha Basiba sat on the mat, and opposite him sat two people. One was very young, sitting there absent-mindedly, as if his soul had been drawn out, eyes open but not daring to look at others, only looking downwards at the ground, very much like a thief.
