Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Through Chen Jie’s relentless efforts, Chen Jie felt his understanding and usage of these three Martial Arts had become more proficient.

The combat power should have increased by about one tael.

At this time, Wang Baobao and Zhao Ya arrived at the backyard, and Du Xiong stood guard in front of the door where Chen Jie was secluding himself, like an Iron Tower.

This was the task Chen Jie gave Du Xiong to protect him.

Zhao Ya looked at Du Xiong and said, ”Has Jiu Si come out of seclusion yet?”

Du Xiong glared and said, ”No.”

Zhao Ya said, ”My brother has returned and wants to see Jiu Si.”

Du Xiong looked at Zhao Ya and said, ”Commandery Princess, Lord said he would not voluntarily come out of seclusion, and no one is permitted to disturb him.”

Zhao Ya replied, ”I understand, but...”

Du Xiong said, ”Commandery Princess, you are the Lord’s fiancée and considered the future Lady. You should know that when a Martial Artist is in seclusion, they might enter a state of meditation. If interrupted at this moment, it could mean that their Martial Arts will never progress in this life, missing an opportunity for enhancement, or worse, their meridians might be disrupted, leading to death.”

”So, Commandery Princess, do you wish for the Lord to encounter some trouble?”

The Commandery Princess paused after hearing this, then sighed and said, ”I understand.”

Then she turned to Wang Baobao and said, ”Third brother, let’s wait.”

Wang Baobao was somewhat anxious hearing this, saying, ”We can wait, but I’m afraid Father can’t wait. Why is he entering seclusion at this time?”

Zhao Ya furrowed her brows, worried about her own father, but also afraid to disturb Chen Jie.

”Don’t worry, it won’t delay things.”

While Zhao Ya was in a dilemma, Chen Jie suddenly opened the door, making Zhao Ya very excited, saying, ”Jiu Si.”

Chen Jie said, ”It’s nothing. There’s a saying that sharpening the knife doesn’t delay the chopping of wood. This time it’s a big matter—the further enhancement of Tuotuo’s Prime Minister’s Power, as well as the defense battle of the Vassal King’s strength, so there’s no need to rush.”

After saying this, Chen Jie said, ”Now the Great Capital must be heavily defended. If we want to enter, it will be difficult not to expose our tracks, but once the tracks are exposed, Tuotuo will definitely target us. Therefore, we need to let them not know we’ve entered the Capital as much as possible.”

Wang Baobao furrowed his brow and said, ”So by staying in seclusion here, you can find an opportunity?”

Chen Jie said, ”Naturally. Do you know why I’ve stayed in Cangzhou for so long?”

Wang Baobao said, ”Wasn’t it to wait for me?”

Chen Jie smiled and said, ”Waiting for you is one reason; naturally, there’s another.”

Wang Baobao furrowed his brow, ”What is the other reason?”

Chen Jie said, ”To wait for some people.”

Wang Baobao asked, ”Which people?”

Chen Jie didn’t answer but looked at Zhao Ya as if testing her. Zhao Ya furrowed her brow in thought, then her eyes suddenly brightened and said, ”Are you talking about those Jianghu people who suddenly appeared on the streets?”

Chen Jie smiled, ”Exactly, Tuotuo’s game is set a bit too big.”

”Or his ambition is too grand. He wants to weaken the vassals and seize power while also wanting to strike the Zoroastrian Sect, causing the rebel army to fail.”

”He wants both sides, which results in him getting nothing.”

”Actually, if he focused solely on weakening the vassals, he should be sealing the Great Capital now, preventing anyone from entering and stopping this matter from reaching the Emperor.”

”As long as he can hold out for six months or a year, the great endeavor of weakening the vassals would succeed, and how to handle the rebel army afterwards would not be late.”

”Or if he specifically targets the rebel army, although this process is very difficult and long, if he can lead the court to strive for governance and stop petty pursuits of power, there might really be a chance of success, and with success, it would be a meritorious achievement across ages.”

”But he desires both, capturing the Little Ming King to stage a King Slaughter Conference in the Capital, preparing to open a net and let the Northern Red Turban Army, the main force of rebellion, fully enter his scheme, then capturing them all.”

”He also wants to prevent the vassals from rebelling and entering the court to see the Emperor.”

”The difficulty escalates, allowing people to enter while planning to stop them outside; the results can’t be good.”

”Hence, Tuotuo’s move is very contradictory.”

Chen Jie analyzed, and after hearing Chen Jie’s analysis, Wang Baobao and Zhao Ya exchanged glances, agreeing with Chen Jie’s view.

Tuotuo’s steps are too wide, thus easily pulling an egg.

Zhao Ya commented, ”Logically, Tuotuo, being a clever person, shouldn’t fail to understand the pros and cons within this.”

Wang Baobao said, ”What’s strange about this? A person’s ambition can inflate too quickly, leading to a situation they can’t control. It’s not uncommon.”

Watching Zhao Ya and Wang Baobao’s conversation, Chen Jie immediately spoke, ”Don’t you find it strange?”

”Strange about what?”

Zhao Ya and Wang Baobao looked at Chen Jie, Chen Jie said, ”Wang Baobao moves a lot of means, a prerequisite is needing the cooperation of the Living Buddha.”

”Whether it’s the treasure elephant army commander, or commanding so many experts in the Capital to serve him, if there’s no Living Buddha’s approval, Tuotuo can’t achieve this. Don’t you find it strange why someone like the Living Buddha is helping Tuotuo?”

”Isn’t he the Stabilizing Needle of Daqian?”

Chen Jie asked.

After saying this, Wang Baobao and Zhao Ya exchanged confused glances, Wang Baobao asked Chen Jie, ”Then why do you think?”

Chen Jie looked at Wang Baobao and asked, ”What do you think the Living Buddha values?”

”Didn’t you say? It’s Daqian’s safety.”

”Does he care who the Emperor is or how much power the Emperor has?”

”To go further, if someone says they can make Daqian emerge from darkness and thrive, stabilize the four seas, and have five directions submit, but just want a bit more power, would the Living Buddha agree?”

Chen Jie asked.

Silence enveloped them, Wang Baobao and Zhao Ya were both contemplating.

After a long while, Zhao Ya looked at Chen Jie and said, ”Are you suggesting Tuotuo promised to help the Living Buddha stabilize Daqian’s situation and eliminate the rebels, but his reward is to weaken the vassals, gaining greater power?”
