Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Chapter 1495: Chapter 340: Chen 94, You Won’t Make Our Commandery Princess a Concubine, Right? (Part 4)

”Then why are you offering me wine and meat?”

Ah San replied, ”Hehe, isn’t this just your disciple wanting to show some respect to you?”

Lord Wuxiang squinted at Ah San and said, ”You’re trying to be filial to me? Hehe, do you think I believe that?”

”If you were so smooth, why haven’t you been promoted by the Prince?”

Lord Wuxiang knew his disciple well. The Western Vajra Sect was once a prestigious sect with many disciples, but after a great upheaval, only the four of them remained in the whole sect.

After that, Lord Wuxiang no longer took disciples, treating his three remaining disciples like his own sons.

So how could he not know their true nature?

Seeing the way his master was practically stripping him bare, Ah San felt a bit embarrassed and said, ”Master, am I really that bad?”

Saying this, Ah San looked a bit forlorn.

Lord Wuxiang looked at Ah San and couldn’t help but sigh, ”Warped wood, even when straightened, will always bend. You are what you are, no need to hide it from your Master.”

Ah San was stunned and looked at Lord Wuxiang, ”Master, what do you mean?”

Lord Wuxiang said, ”The Commandery Princess is ready to escape, isn’t she?”

”Huh?”

Ah San looked at Lord Wuxiang with shock all across his face.

”Master, how do you know?”

Lord Wuxiang shook his head, ”You fool, I tricked you with a simple bluff, and you spilled it all.”

”Ah, Master!”

Ah San rushed to the door and blocked it with his hand, ”Master, you can’t go capture the Commandery Princess. Otherwise, you’ll have to step over your disciple’s body today.”

Lord Wuxiang took one look at Ah San and said, ”You fool, if I wanted to capture the Commandery Princess, do you think you could stop me?”

Ah San was stunned as he looked at Lord Wuxiang, ”Master, you’re not going to capture the Commandery Princess!”

Lord Wuxiang helplessly shook his head, ”You idiot.”

Then Lord Wuxiang said, ”What are you doing just standing there? Pour me some of that good wine you brought. I want to see what kind of wine you’re using to fool your master.”

Ah San, hearing this, finally understood that Lord Wuxiang really wasn’t planning to take action. He immediately responded, ”Aye, Master, hold on, I’ll pour you a drink right away.”

Ah San’s voice was filled with excitement.

A glass was filled to the brim, and after taking a sip, Lord Wuxiang angrily said, ”Puh~ You fool, where did you get this wine? It’s terrible!”

Hearing this, Ah San grimaced, ”Master, I was in such a rush, I just grabbed a jug of wine without looking closely.”

Lord Wuxiang was equally helpless, wincing as he said, ”Why did I have to end up with a disciple like you?”

At this point, Ah San could only smile apologetically. As long as Lord Wuxiang wasn’t going to capture the Commandery Princess, he could say whatever he wanted.

Lord Wuxiang took another look at Ah San and shook his head again. If only this foolish disciple were as clever as Chen Jiusi, he could be entrusted with great responsibilities.

But this... Sigh...

Lord Wuxiang kept shaking his head, but Ah San just chuckled foolishly. Finally, unable to hold back, he asked, ”Master, since you already know we’re helping the Commandery Princess escape, why aren’t you going to capture her?”

Lord Wuxiang looked at Ah San and sighed, ”Sigh... That Yaya girl, I’ve watched her grow up too. How could I bear to see her jump into a pit of fire?”

Hearing this, Ah San said, ”But then why did you accept the task of escorting the Commandery Princess?”

”What do you mean by escorting? Your Master is providing an escort, disciple. Sometimes, though one feels compassion, things still have to be done. This is called being an involuntary part of the court,” Lord Wuxiang explained.

Hearing this, Ah San asked in confusion, ”Master, then if you’re letting the Commandery Princess escape this time, how will you explain it to the Prince?”

Lord Wuxiang said, ”Disciple, your master is teaching you a term, it’s called ’no one person can be blamed when the fault is shared.’”

”First, this mission is not just an escort. Ahem, let’s call it a convoy. It’s filled with experts, including the Qincha Eight Guards from the court, both Turtle and Crane, and Wang Baobao, who commands the White Deer Army outside the city. If the Commandery Princess escapes, can the Prince’s accountability focus solely on me?”

”And all these people are part of the Prince’s direct lineage. How could the Prince punish us all?”

”Besides, haven’t I been drinking? Unable to hold my liquor, naturally, I must be drunk. If drunk, I didn’t keep an eye on the Commandery Princess, it’s at most negligence, punished by a few months of reduced pay.”

”And those few months of salary in exchange for Yaya’s lifelong happiness, I find that quite worth it. Consider it my wedding gift to Yaya,” Lord Wuxiang elaborated.

Hearing this, Ah San understood. His master truly was wise and farsighted. Thinking so, he looked at Lord Wuxiang and said, ”But what if the Commandery Princess is caught and brought back? What should you do then, Master?”

At these words, Lord Wuxiang looked at him as if he were an idiot.

”If she’s caught and brought back, what does it matter to me? I merely drank a little and took a nap. No dereliction at all. We simply continue to escort the Commandery Princess north,” Lord Wuxiang laughingly replied to Ah San.

Hearing this, Ah San’s eyes widened, ”Master, you’re so cunning. No matter what happens, you suffer no loss. Truly like an old fox!”

”Get lost, you brainless fool!”

Lord Wuxiang was annoyed by Ah San. What kind of good disciple curses his master as an old fox and says his master is too cunning?

Ah San got a scolding from Lord Wuxiang, but he still grinned from ear to ear. In the end, he had no choice but to snatch the wine jug from beside Lord Wuxiang and said, ”Master, your disciple was wrong. Let me drink one for you.”

With that, he gulped the wine down.

Lord Wuxiang became even more vexed, ”Wasn’t that wine an offering to me? Save some for me!”

Lord Wuxiang was indeed helpless. He truly wished he could disown this disciple. You’ve drunk it all; when accountability comes, how will it look for me, a master of the Molten Furnace Upper Realm, being declared unconscious from one strong drink? Would anyone believe that?
