Watching a top-tier fish being blasted out of the water and roughly crammed into a basket, Lord Yelu’s face turned ashen.

Qimu Ge quietly said, ”Master.”

Biting his teeth, Yelu commanded, ”Today at noon, prepare a banquet of a hundred fish!”

”Yes.”

Qimu Ge responded, while Yelu turned away, thinking it better not to look and fret, ”Let them blast away.”

Zhao Ya and Chen Jiusi were also startled by the commotion and turned their heads, only to see a beautiful performance of explosive fishing unfolding before them.

Chen Jie couldn’t hide his amazement, ”Holy shit, is this the detached Gang Qi of a Qi Blood Holding Core Realm expert? Awesome~”

Meanwhile, Zhao Ya was visibly annoyed, standing up she said, ”Mr. Chen, I truly enjoyed our conversation just now, it’s just that, ah, this is a letdown, a real letdown.”

”It’s alright, no worries,” Chen Jie replied.

While they talked, Zhao Ya asked, ”Mr. Chen, now that you’ve taken charge of the Fishing Guild, will you start reorganizing the guild tomorrow?”

”That’s right,” said Chen Jie, ”we cannot delay, I have a ceremony to attend to in seven days.”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Ya said, ”I wonder if I might observe and learn from the sidelines as you reorganize the Fishing Guild.”

Chen Jie was momentarily stunned, then quickly replied, ”Of course, it would be my privilege to have someone of your stature take interest in such matters.”

”No, no, in the Fishing Guild, you are my teacher,” Zhao Ya said. ”I still want to learn from you, on how to govern a guild and a place.”

”I will do my utmost,” Chen Jie assured.

”Then I’m in your debt, Mr. Chen,” Zhao Ya said.

”It’s my duty,” Chen Jie added.

As they spoke, they reached the lakeside, where Ah Da turned to Zhao Ya and said, ”Commandery Princess, we’ve almost captured a hundred fish. Please wait just a moment.”

Zhao Ya frowned, ”No need to capture anymore.”

Ah Da, puzzled, said, ”Oh, alright then. Ah San, stop! The Commandery Princess says there’s no need!”

Upon hearing this, Ah San ceased his efforts.

At this time, Qimu Ge, noticing things had settled down on their end, approached and said, ”Commandery Princess, my master invites you to the banquet.”

Zhao Ya responded, ”Hmm, I see. Mr. Chen, let’s go together.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Jie said with a bow, ”Commandery Princess, you needn’t address me so formally—it might lead to misunderstandings. Please just call me Chen Jiusi.”

Zhao Ya thought for a moment and then said, ”Fine, I will no longer call you Mr. Chen, I shall continue to refer to you as Brother Chen.”

”Thank you, Lord of the Commandery,” Chen Jie replied.

After speaking, the Commandery Princess glanced at Ah Da and his companions and said, ”Let’s go.”

”Commandery Princess, what about these fish?”

Upon hearing this, Qimu Ge said, ”Noble sirs, leave the fish to me.”

The three of them looked at Qimu Ge and replied, ”Hmm, then we’ll leave them to you.”

After the conversation, the group promptly followed Zhao Ya, and soon they arrived at the reception hall.

Yelu was already waiting there and immediately stood up upon seeing the Commandery Princess, ”Commandery Princess.”

Zhao Ya waved her hand, and Yelu stepped aside to offer the main seat.

Yelu took a seat with hands clasped while Chen Jie, intending to sit at the edge, didn’t expect Zhao Ya to speak up, ”Brother Chen, come, sit beside me.”

Chen Jie glanced around and said, ”Commandery Princess, with my status, how could I sit in a row with Lord Yelu? It would be improper; I shall sit at the edge.”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Ya turned to Yelu and asked, ”Lord, do you find it unsuitable?”

”Suitable, very suitable,” Yelu revealed a sycophantic smile and said, ”Jiu Si is a young man of great promise, deeply valued by the Commandery Princess. It’s only proper for him to sit here, and it would be an honor for me to share a table with him. Jiu Si, quickly, come take a seat beside the Commandery Princess.”

Chen Jie looked troubled, ”This doesn’t seem proper.”

Yelu stood up, ”Do I need to invite you personally?”

”Not at all, not at all,” Chen Jie hurriedly replied. ”I’ll take my seat.”

Soon, the three of them were seated, with Ah Da, Ah Er, and Ah San exchanging glances before taking their places at the end of the feast.

Watching Chen Jie and Zhao Ya engaging in pleasant conversation caused some to frown.

Nevertheless, they were helpless, as it would be improper to be overly stern, potentially displeasing the Commandery Princess.

With everyone seated, Yelu clapped his hands, signaling for the dishes to be served, and soon enough, the food arrived. Yelu said, ”Seeing the Commandery Princess catch over a hundred fish, I had a stroke of inspiration to hold a banquet of a hundred fish, hoping the Commandery Princess will enjoy it.”

Hearing this, Zhao Ya glanced at the three buffoons at the end of the table, thinking that they certainly contributed greatly to the preparation of this banquet.

At that moment, Ah San remarked, ”Ah, a banquet of a hundred fish, I’ve heard of it but never had the chance to try it. I must taste it this time.”

Upon hearing this, Yelu clapped his hands, and the attendants below began serving the dishes.

Braised fish, grilled fish, steamed fish, fish slices in thick sauce, fish head with tofu casserole...

The chefs at Yelu Mansion were the best in Mianshui County, thus their dishes were quite exquisite.

People ate, drank, and made casual conversation, enjoying the feast as hosts and guests alike.

Yelu took the opportunity to report on Nan Batian’s situation, and Zhao Ya nodded seriously as she listened.

”Commandery Princess, this Nan Batian is truly reckless,” Yelu said. ”After an investigation by Chen Jiu and me, it turns out that this man has been secretly communicating with the Zoroastrian Sect, producing a large number of military weapons, and preparing to support the Red Turban Rebellion by moving north. Thankfully, Chen Jiu’s wise reporting and my prompt response stopped him before anything worse could happen. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable!”

The Commandery Princess nodded slightly, ”You all have worked hard.”

”It’s no trouble at all,” Yelu bowed. ”Should the Commandery Princess command it, I would not hesitate to serve and share in your concerns.”

Zhao Ya, taken aback, then said, ”As a matter of fact, I do have a matter that requires Lord Yelu’s assistance.”

”Please speak, Commandery Princess!”

”A year ago, I was kidnapped by the bandit Ni Wenjun. Are you aware of this?”

Yelu replied, ”I am aware, and I even dispatched men to rescue you, Commandery Princess.”

”Right, I want to ask if there was any place where Ni Wenjun was cornered, where a battle took place, or even if he was injured?”

Zhao Ya posed the question, deducing that if the thief had come to her disguised with Ni Wenjun’s mask, it meant that Ni Wenjun was unable to come himself, likely due to injury, significantly narrowing down the possibilities.

Upon hearing this, Yelu said, ”Yes, in Xiantao Town.”

”Xiantao Town?”

Zhao Ya narrowed her eyes, feeling a sense of familiarity.

”Right, in Xiantao Town,” Yelu continued. ”Ah, Chen Jiu is from Xiantao Town, you could ask him!”

Hmm?

Zhao Ya turned in surprise to look at Chen Jiusi.
