Reverend Insanity: Dream Gu

”As expected, his bloodline is the key.”

Following the outcome, Lin Yan soon discovered a cave concealed beneath layers of rock and brought Zhong Yi inside. The cave was completely dark at first, but before he could properly examine the surroundings, purple-red light suddenly spread across the walls as a majestic gate appeared before them.

Nine lightning-fire true dragons were carved across its surface. Their scales, claws, and horns were depicted with extraordinary detail, while flames seemed to flow between their scales and tiny strands of lightning moved across their bodies. Suddenly, two of the nine dragons opened their eyes.

Roar!

Purple-red light erupted as the two dragons tore themselves free from the gate. Their carved bodies transformed into blazing forms of flame and lightning as they charged toward Lin Yan and Zhong Yi. Each was several meters long and as thick as a large tree trunk, appearing almost indistinguishable from living creatures.

Lin Yan immediately stood in front of Zhong Yi. He did not know what other arrangements existed within the inheritance ground, and fighting carelessly beneath the Red Dragon River could create enough disturbance to attract attention. Rather than immediately using a powerful Flame Path attack, he chose a Wisdom Path method that would create almost no commotion.

Rank Seven Immortal killer move, Heaven-Startling Cry!

An invisible force swept toward one of the lightning-fire true dragons and struck it directly, yet the dragon showed no reaction. It did not slow down and continued charging toward him as though nothing had happened.

”No thoughts and no soul. These dragons aren’t living creatures. They’re manifestations of an Immortal killer move.”

Lin Yan immediately changed methods. His body transformed into Crimson Virtue True Body as pale-red Otherworldly Flame rose around him.

Immortal killer move, Raging Flames Engulfing the Body!

The purple-red flames forming the two dragons immediately became unstable. Under Lin Yan’s control, their own flames began turning against them, weakening the structure of the killer move from within. He deliberately restrained his strength, intending to suppress the two dragons without disturbing the inheritance ground or the river outside.

One dragon rapidly weakened under his control, but the other suddenly erupted with an aura comparable to an Ancient Desolate Beast. Purple-red lightning spread across its body as it forcibly broke free from Lin Yan’s suppression and rushed past him toward Zhong Yi.

Lin Yan was about to activate Divine Firmament Thunder Pool when he noticed something unusual and immediately stopped. The lightning-fire true dragon had not attacked Zhong Yi. Instead, it circled the child several times before lowering its enormous head and gently pressing against the protective light surrounding him.

Zhong Yi’s face had gone pale from fright, yet he remained standing without attempting to flee. For a child who had not even begun cultivating, such composure was already rare.

The lightning-fire true dragon suddenly broke apart. Its enormous body transformed into countless strands of purple lightning and crimson flame that passed through the protection of Divine Firmament Thunder Pool and entered Zhong Yi’s body. His eyes immediately became unfocused as a vast amount of information poured into his mind.

Seeing this, Lin Yan immediately understood. The two dragons were not merely guardians meant to repel intruders. Fire Thunder Divine Lord had also left within them a method to identify his descendants.

”The Zhong Family bloodline is indeed the key to this true inheritance.”The remaining dragon showed a completely different attitude. It circled restlessly before Lin Yan, glaring at him with obvious hostility.

Fire Thunder Divine Lord had been a loose cultivator, and his actions had never been strictly righteous or demonic. He had eventually been pursued by several Western Desert super forces, so when arranging his inheritance, he had left two different methods for obtaining it.

If a descendant of the Zhong Family arrived, there was no need to undergo any test. Their bloodline itself served as proof, allowing them to directly obtain a portion of the true inheritance. Fire Thunder Divine Lord did not reject unrelated Gu Immortals either. They simply had to defeat the guardians he had left behind.

This only increased Lin Yan’s interest. The lightning-fire true dragon before him possessed strength comparable to an Ancient Desolate Beast even after so many years. If every portion of the inheritance had such powerful guardians, Fire Thunder Divine Lord had clearly put considerable effort into arranging his true inheritance.

Before his Immortal Ascension, Lin Yan had believed that Fire Thunder Divine Lord was already critically wounded and nearing death when he arranged this inheritance. Under such circumstances, there was a possibility that he had lacked the time and strength to preserve much of his wealth.

Now, however, Lin Yan no longer cared much about how many treasures remained. His main purpose in coming here was not the Immortal Gu or immortal materials left behind by Fire Thunder Divine Lord, but the possibility of finding his Dream Realm.
