Ning An's Wild Wish System

”The nation tells you not to be superstitious, but it doesn’t say you can’t believe.”

At this moment, Ning An was sitting in a deck chair, looking at the screen full of comments, and said cheerfully.

Yesterday, the Daoist Temple on Cishan was properly dealt with by the officials.

The one who went to persuade the elder was also a friend of his.

As expected, all the monks in the temple were driven out, the abbot and several senior monks were all sent inside, while Li Daocheng was recruited by the officials, completely reassuring the higher-ups.

Ning An felt no ripples in his heart about this outcome.

After all, no matter how influential he was, he could only prevent the officials from using intrigue. The best way was for the elder to directly become a member of the officials.

Shaking his head, Ning An refocused his gaze on the screen.

It’s lunchtime now, with not many incense burners around, perfect for having a chat with online friends.

”You might think superstition means your left eye jumping means wealth and your right eye jumping means disaster, but in fact, our Dragon-style science is quite double-standard.”

”Take the existence of the 749 Bureau for example. The 749 Bureau’s predecessor was Institute 507, a spiritual unit established by Elder Qian, specifically researching supernatural phenomena and paranormal events across various places. You can be non-superstitious, but you have to trust Elder Qian.”

”In Jiang Sect, they created a lab 700 meters below to capture neutrinos. Every second, 70 billion neutrinos pass through the gaps in our fingers, colloquially called ’ghost particles’ that can pass through.”

”The 2008 Olympic Games on August 8th at 8 pm were a once-in-a-century auspicious time.”

”The launch time, lunar soil retrieval time, and return time of Chang’e 6 were all chosen as auspicious times according to the almanac.”

”In the past few years, the designs of the hospitals Huoshen Mountain and Thunder God Mountain hold great significance.

The main symptoms of COVID-19 affect the lungs, and lung ailments in the five elements are of the evil metal attribute. According to the I Ching, fire can overcome metal, so Huoshen Mountain was born, and its emblem of the fire gourd can absorb evil energies and purify evil objects.

Thunder God Mountain has a wood attribute, wood and fire generate each other and can assist the fire god in eliminating the epidemic. The central emblem of the shield-shaped lotus seat can block evil thunder and suppress evil energies.”

Feeling a bit thirsty, Ning An smacked his lips and took a sip of tea, teasing:

”Or rather, who among you dares to dress as a ghost during the Ghost Festival?”

Ning An was sipping his tea when suddenly a connection alert sound erupted.

He clicked casually, and the screen instantly split in half—

The camera on the other side shook violently, and then a somewhat bewildered voice came out:

”Brother Sect Leader, can I ask something? If an ordinary person eats ginseng infused with Spiritual Qi, will they keep sleeping and never wake up?”

Before Ning An could speak, the live stream’s comments were already in chaos.

”What? Ginseng with Spiritual Qi, oh my god, is there actually such a thing?”

”Okay, okay, this is truly the child of destiny. We ordinary people don’t even know where to find cultivation methods, and this guy accidentally stumbled into it; I’m literally crying.”

”Dude, let me test you, where did you find this ginseng? I mean no harm, just afraid you’ll suddenly forget where it is and won’t find it when you need it later, so better remember it.”

”Ugh, disgusting!”

Among the plethora of comments, there were also many concerned about the connected university student.

”Hey brother, instead of asking here, why not rush to send it to the hospital? The probability of ginseng being infused with Spiritual Qi might exist, but the possibility of unscrupulous black-market sellers faking it is even higher!”

”Yeah, if they’re already sleeping and not waking up, regardless of the situation, it’s not something us ordinary folks can resolve; quickly go to the hospital.”

”Take the advice from the elder brother, stop reading those novels, if such a great thing existed, it wouldn’t be yours! It would have been scavenged clean long ago.”

”I agree. If such good things truly existed, there’d have been online havoc, and society would have long been divided into hierarchies. Estimated that such things don’t exist at this stage, stop dreaming.”

”...”

To be fair, the online friends in the live stream were hitting the nail right on the head.

Spiritual Objects exist, but at this stage, their likelihood is practically zero.

Otherwise, the higher-ups wouldn’t be going to such lengths to develop so-called Spirit Fields and nurture Spiritual Objects.

Though Ning An was puzzled, he habitually explained: ”Relax, pilgrim, such situations won’t happen. If someone around you is sleeping and not waking up, I’d suggest sending them to the hospital.”

”Okay.”

On the other end of the connection, Li Jiyuan lost most of his excitement but still whispered skeptically: ”I trust Brother Sect Leader, but what if he got it wrong.”

Upon hearing this,

Ning An couldn’t help but frown: ”Pilgrim, judging by the background of your connection, it seems to be a college dormitory, may I ask where do you get the money to buy ginseng?”

The online friends in the live stream were also curious.

”Yeah, I’m curious too; when we were in college, I remember we were dirt poor.”

”Back in university, my living expenses were just enough to barely cover basic needs, forget about eating ginseng, even going out to have a proper meal with roommates required careful budgeting, this doesn’t add up.”

”Your university and my university seem quite different.”

”...”

From the other side, Li Jiyuan’s voice expressed an indescribable envy: ”This ginseng was grabbed by my roommate online for a penny, with tens of thousands of people competing for a spot. He really hit the jackpot.”

”But my roommate is truly generous, once the ginseng arrived, even though it’s not big, he thought of us and insisted on sharing a little bit with each of us; sigh.”

Ning An frowned more deeply: ”Online? Was it a live stream giveaway?”

”Yes.”

Li Jiyuan sighed with envy: ”I searched online, this ginseng, although not large, would still cost several thousand yuan. If I won it, I’d definitely sell it; eating it ourselves is just pure waste.”
