Ning An's Wild Wish System

Z City Intermediate Court.

”Z City Intermediate Court, Civil Trial Chamber.”

”According to Dragon Country’s Civil Procedure Law Article...”

”...”

”Now verifying the information of the parties involved...”

”...”

Ning An holds a live streaming device, sitting in a corner, adjusting the angle.

The viewers in the live stream room were already unable to contain their excitement.

”Good! Today I want to see how Officer Xiaoli got a first-class merit.”

”Me too! I’m also here to see how a battery thief could get a first-class merit?”

”You’ll know during the trial, but don’t focus on that now, first focus on the scene of the trial, okay? How many times in a lifetime do you get a chance to see such a scene?”

”I have to say, it’s my first time watching a live trial from a first-person perspective, it’s so exciting, no wonder Brother Sect Leader has such presence!”

...

Just as Officer Xiaoli said before, Ning An is the only one granted live streaming permission for the trial.

Ning An adjusts the live streaming angle, yet he is filled with emotion and confusion.

He still hasn’t figured out how a thief could carry a first-class merit?

Unlike usual, most civil cases end with police mediation.

But this time, it went straight to court, which is quite rare.

While he was adjusting the angle, the presiding judge had already read out the court’s rules.

Then the presiding judge looked up, looked at the plaintiff’s lawyer, and said:

”Plaintiff’s lawyer, you may state your litigation claims.”

Ordinarily, people in the live stream room could hardly see the courtroom scene.

They were quite unfamiliar with the trial process, and began to ask questions one after another.

Seeing this, Ning An quietly explained:

”Generally speaking, a trial has five processes, not missing any step.”

”Opening, court investigation, court debate, defendant’s final statement, deliberation and judgment.”

”Currently, it’s the court investigation stage, which is also the most important part of the trial.”

”Just now, the presiding judge asked the plaintiff’s lawyer to present their demands during this stage, such as hoping for a certain number of years, or wishing the other party to compensate their client in some way, etc.”

”At the same time, the plaintiff’s lawyer will submit their evidence, so if you are a plaintiff in the future, you must hire a good lawyer; otherwise, just providing evidence at this stage will be quite challenging.”

...

Normally, this case is not complicated.

The amount involved with the stolen electric bike is just around three thousand yuan, according to Dragon Country’s law, even if sentenced to the maximum, it’s just three years imprisonment plus a fine.

But usually, for cases like this where electric bikes are stolen, the sentence won’t be this long.

Even if the defendant hires a slightly professional lawyer, it’s just detention or control.

From any perspective, there seems to be no sign of first-class merits.

In the live stream room, viewers are also somewhat confused, though they are having lively discussions.

”Based on my experience, this thief isn’t a big issue, he even hired a lawyer, I reckon a few days sentence and some money would settle it.”

”Hmm? Your experience! That’s suspicious, could it be you’ve also stolen batteries?”

”Insulting! You’re insulting me! Can’t I be a law student who helped thieves in court? Ah ah ah!”

”Look, not even a lawyer, just a law student helping thieves in court, no need for a sentence, it’s hard to imagine if the first-class merit was from the thief outing the entire gang?”

”I just looked up our country’s laws, for amounts under three thousand, it’s at most three years in prison, but of course, a fine needs to be paid.”

”I watched that live stream, the electric bike price should be between two thousand to five thousand, not a large amount, generally speaking, the presiding judge would give controlled detention and fine some money, then case closed.”

”You’re all so professional! Based on what you are saying, there’s no way for a first-class merit, not even a third-class merit for Officer Xiaoli!”

”...”

As we move into a new era, Dragon Country increasingly pours effort into legal education.

Thus, not only trendy new youth, even the elderly sunbathing in the village can talk about some common laws.

Before the plaintiff’s lawyer stated demands, viewers in the live stream room analyzed this case almost thoroughly.

And the analysis process was logical, even with professional input, the final verdict shouldn’t differ much.

To everyone, it’s just an ordinary theft case.

Even if the presiding judge is strict, the maximum sentence is three years in prison.

Can’t just sentence someone to death for stealing a battery!

Even as a presiding judge, sentencing should follow the laws of Dragon Country.

The live stream room is puzzled about how this case involves a first-class merit!

As viewers discuss, the plaintiff’s lawyer also presented their demands.

”Our accusation against the defendant Fei San is three years imprisonment, a fine of five thousand, and controlled detention.”

The plaintiff’s lawyer said this, yet there was no change in expression among those present.

Everyone remained calm, as if this kind of demand was usual.

In reality, a trial in some sense is similar to bargaining at the market.

As the first to offer a price, the plaintiff’s lawyer, like a haggling auntie, certainly sets the price highest, while the defendant’s lawyer argues just like a market shopper, probing each other.
