Ning An's Wild Wish System

”Though the crimes remain, true words and rituals might expiate them, creating numbers of wrongs.

It’s like a fool relying on a king’s power, committing numerous evils, and eventually facing disaster; the heart of the crime persists. The sin is truly hard to remove.

Only when both body and mind are sacrificed can the sin be extinguished, like the sun melting frost.”

As the final word finished, the Sanskrit sound faded, Lu Taiyi smiled and said:

”Too much is as bad as too little; that’s enough for today.”

Lu Taiyi put away the scriptures, clicked the wooden box closed, and was about to stand up.

”Master, you’ve worked hard, this way please.”

Yang Anbang smiled, stood up, respectfully leading the way to the cooling room.

Yang Anbang and Wang Tao, between the two, if you count low posture, it had to be Yang Anbang, who earnestly sought proof when in doubt and spared no effort when convinced.

Lu Taiyi saw all this too, looking at their respectful demeanor, an inexplicable sense of pleasure rose in his heart.

Before the great world opened, he was merely a barefoot doctor in a village; such wealthy young men, without unexpected circumstances, he would have never interacted with.

How could it be like now, mansions, luxury cars, women, money, even if he didn’t ask, they had to hurriedly present them.

In short: I may not need it, but you can’t not offer it.

In front of him, these two were even more humble and respectful.

Faced with all this, Lu Taiyi hesitated only briefly before gladly accepting it.

The Buddhist family talks about the law of destiny, and Maitreya Sect is the same; what you see, what you encounter, what you gain, all are destiny; heaven-provided should not be taken, otherwise one would suffer instead.

At worst, after brainwashing these two fools, teaching them some of the less profound tricks of the Maitreya Sect wouldn’t be impossible.

Yang Anbang led the way ahead, Lu Taiyi in the middle, Wang Tao followed closely behind, as for other hangers-on, they looked like sycophants and were side by side.

The quiet room didn’t have any cooling equipment, neither air conditioning nor others, as they all had machine noise, which Lu Taiyi scolded on the first day, and ordered them removed.

This led to a group of people crowded into one room during the hot summer, though the room faced away from the sun, it was unbearably hot.

Wang Tao, although thin, couldn’t stand the heat; arriving at the cooling room, feeling the cool air, the sweltering heat that soaked his back had a slight relief, and he groaned with grimace: ”This ghost weather is getting hotter, I can’t stand the heat, it seems it’s going to kill me!”

”Agitation breeds heat, calm heart brings coolness.” Lu Taiyi shook his head, smiling.

”Oh, Master, you’re an enlightened one, naturally you don’t understand the pains of us mere mortals.” Wang Tao sprawled, resembling an oxygen-starved turtle, striving to increase his body’s contact area with the cool air.

”No matter Dao or Buddhism, to enter the threshold, meditation is crucial; without inner calm, the finest cultivation technique is futile, let alone breaking through the mist, burning the lamp, and connecting to the thirty-six levels of Buddha Country...”

Lu Taiyi watched the other, who couldn’t care less, only focusing on cooling off, helplessly said: ”Forget it, forget it, bring some empty cups.”

Immediately, the bodyguard lackeys brought a few cups, placed them in front of him.

Lu Taiyi inspected each one, ensured there were no water droplets inside, then began the Sanskrit chant:

”Namo Sulu Po Ye, Tatha Odo Ye, Tatha Chita, Om! Sulu Sulu, Bala Sulu, Bala Sulu, Saba Ha.”

When the chanting ended, half a cup of nectar miraculously appeared in the previously empty cups.

”You all, come and try.” Lu Taiyi drank one cup first, then invited everyone.

”I’ll do it!”

Wang Tao summer-saulted up, grabbed a cup, and drank it all, immediately widening his eyes, shivered unexpectedly.

The half cup of nectar went down, normal temperature as it passed the throat, yet reaching the stomach, a continuous coolness flowed through the body.

”Whoa, impressive!”

”Let me try it too.”

Yang Anbang witnessed, also took a cup and drank it all, then similarly widened his eyes, filled with disbelief.

Why are they, privileged young men, so respectful to a lowly barefoot doctor?

Isn’t it for this mysterious magic!

Seeing their expressions, Lu Taiyi felt comfortable, leisurely saying:

”This spell is just a trivial trick; once you meditate, break through the mist, light the butter lamp, find the Buddha Country, you can also perform this Avalokitesvara’s Nectar Water Spell.”

Yang Anbang and Wang Tao exchanged a glance, silently kept this sentence in mind.

After everyone had downed the talismanic water, Wang Tao respectfully spoke up: ”Master, I have a good friend, she also heard of your venerable name, wants to learn a bit more, what do you think...”

”Buddhism talks about destiny, whoever comes, as long as there’s destiny, can.”

”Don’t worry, Master, she’s definitely destined with you.” Wang Tao chuckled, assuring.

...

Meanwhile, outside the South Drum Lane.

Lin Yanke looked at the close-by courtyard, her face calm, yet her palms and backs were slightly sweaty.

She took another look in the mirror, couldn’t help but ask: ”How do I look? Still passable?”

”What do you mean passable? It’s too perfect!” Lin Baiwei noticed her older cousin’s nerves, smiled comfortingly.

”Look closely, make sure there are no flaws.”

”Sis, my dear cousin, if you have flaws, no woman on earth should live.”

Gee!

Lin Baiwei glanced at her still tense cousin, then boldly stepped forward and led the way.

No wonder Lin Yanke was nervous; although this was nominally her home, from childhood to adulthood, she hardly lived here, and in recent years, her visits could be counted on fingers.
