Wild Crazy Male Lead's Forced Love, You Don't Want, I Want!

34: Notes of a Paranoid Educated Youth 3The sky was just beginning to lighten, and people were already moving about in the courtyard of the educated youth point.

Zhou Linchuan stood by the well, cupped a handful of cold water and splashed it on his face. The bone-chilling cold made him frown slightly. Droplets of water slid down his jaw, dripping onto the faded army-green collar of his shirt.

”Captain Zhou, good morning.”

Someone greeted him from afar, but dared not approach, only standing a few steps away, cautiously observing him.

Zhou Linchuan didn’t respond. He raised a hand to wipe the water from his face and turned to leave.

”Hey, Captain Zhou...” The person hesitated for a moment, but couldn’t help but ask, ”What happened to your lip?”

Zhou Linchuan’s steps paused.

His fingertips unconsciously touched his lower lip, where there was a small cut, already covered with a thin scab.

It was bitten by that woman last night.

His eyes darkened, and the scene in the cowshed reappeared before him: Wen Ci looking up, her eyelashes damp, her lips pressing against his with a faint sweet scent.

The moment her teeth broke the corner of his lip, he actually forgot to push her away.

The taste of blood spread between their lips, and her breath was astonishingly hot.

”...Scratched by a wild cat.”

He dropped the cold remark and left without looking back.

The person who asked the question stood stunned, then scratched his head after a while, muttering softly, ”These days, can wild cats bite people’s mouths?”

In the morning canteen, people gathered in small groups to eat, but Zhou Linchuan sat alone in a corner.

In front of him was a bowl of thin porridge, its steam long gone, with a thin film congealed on the surface.

Occasionally, people around him would steal glances, but no one dared to approach him.

The educated youths feared him; his methods were too ruthless, never showing mercy at criticism meetings.

The leaders were wary of him; although his father was labeled a ”capitalist roader,” he himself was highly regarded by the higher-ups.

Zhou Linchuan stirred the cold porridge expressionlessly, his fingertips unconsciously touching the wound on his lip again.

Last night, he tossed and turned, unable to sleep.

When he closed his eyes, he saw her damp gaze.

When he opened his eyes, the sweet scent lingered in the darkness.

He impatiently pushed the bowl away, the bottom scraping against the wooden table with a harsh sound.

The surroundings instantly fell silent. Everyone lowered their heads, pretending not to notice his unusual behavior.

*

When Lin Hongying went out in the morning, she saw Zhou Linchuan from a distance.

He walked ahead of several educated youths, wearing a faded army-green padded jacket with a red armband on his arm, and the scar on his brow bone was particularly glaring in the sunlight.

His cold exterior was exactly the same as in his previous life.

She suddenly stopped, raising a hand to cover her chest, which was heaving violently.

”Stay away from him, I must stay away from him...”

She repeated in her mind again and again: I must refuse my father’s matchmaking, and I will never marry Zhou Linchuan!

Strive for the first batch of return-to-city quotas, the sooner I leave Red Star Farm, the better!

In this life, I will never give him any chance to get close to me again!

As she was thinking, Zhou Linchuan seemed to sense something and suddenly glanced in her direction. Lin Hongying stumbled, immediately turned around, and ran.

Looking at that flustered back, Zhou Linchuan narrowed his eyes.

Something’s not right.

Wen Ci was the first, and this was the second.

He quickly withdrew his gaze and didn’t look further.

The cold wind howled. It was time for criticism meetings in the evening. By then, everyone had eaten and finished their work, so they had the energy and means to deal with people.

Red Star Farm’s square was quickly filled with people.

Wen Ci was led onto the stage.

Below, the dense crowd raised their fists, and slogans echoed to the sky.

”Down with the capitalist cancer!”

”Wen Ci must accept labor reform!”

Wen Ci lowered her head, her eyelashes trembling slightly, but her peripheral vision caught the man standing at the side of the stage, Zhou Linchuan.

He was today’s host, holding her fate in his hands.

The two militiamen holding her were very strong, and Wen Ci winced in pain, her eyes instantly reddening.

It was at this moment.

She looked up, directly at Zhou Linchuan.

Zhou Linchuan was originally flipping through the criticism draft expressionlessly, but his fingers paused slightly the moment their eyes met.

She was looking at him.

Not anger, not hatred, but... dependence.

Like a small beast driven to a desperate situation, silently pleading for his help.

”Zhou Linchuan...”

Her lips moved slightly, making no sound, but he clearly understood.

She was calling his name.

Zhou Linchuan’s breathing suddenly caught.

From childhood, everyone avoided him.

His father was falsely accused of being a ”capitalist roader”; his last look at him before committing suicide was one of despair.

When his mother was criticized, her gaze at him was pain.

He had always been alone.

But at this moment, Wen Ci was depending on him.

As if he was her only salvation.

Everyone stared intently at Wen Ci.

Wen Ci flinched, and tears finally rolled down.

This single tear completely shattered Zhou Linchuan’s rationality.

He suddenly stood up and snatched the loudspeaker from the director’s hand.

The entire venue instantly fell silent.

Everyone looked at him, not understanding what this usually cold educated youth captain was going to do.

Zhou Linchuan was expressionless, his voice cold and hard, ”Today’s criticism meeting is hereby concluded.”

There was an uproar below the stage.

The director became anxious, ”Zhou Linchuan! What do you mean by this? She is...”

”I said, it’s over.”

Zhou Linchuan swept a cold glance over him, and the director immediately fell silent.

He strode towards Wen Ci, and in full view of everyone, he ripped the wooden sign from her neck and slammed it to the ground.

The wooden sign split in half, making a crisp sound.

Wen Ci looked up at him, tears still clinging to her eyelashes, about to fall.

Zhou Linchuan’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He reached out and roughly wiped away her tears with his thumb.

”Why are you crying?”

His voice was deep, with a hint of impatience, yet his actions were inexplicably gentle.

Wen Ci didn’t speak, just looked at him, her gaze incredibly soft.

Zhou Linchuan closed his eyes, then suddenly bent down and directly scooped her up in his arms!

The whole place was shocked.

Wen Ci was also stunned, subconsciously grabbing his collar.

Zhou Linchuan looked down at her, a cold smile on his face, ”It’s too late to be scared now.”

With that, he strode away from the criticism platform, leaving behind a crowd of dumbfounded onlookers.

On the way back to the educated youth point, Wen Ci was held in his arms, clearly hearing the steady heartbeat in his chest.

Zhou Linchuan’s jaw was clenched, and he said nothing, but his arms were held very tightly, as if he was afraid she would fall.

Wen Ci quietly looked up and suddenly whispered, ”Captain Zhou, your heart is beating so fast.”

Zhou Linchuan’s steps paused, and he stared at her with a dangerous look.

”Wen Ci, do you think I won’t throw you down?”

Wen Ci immediately shrank her neck, feigning obedience, ”I was wrong.”

Zhou Linchuan snorted coldly and continued to walk, but his arms unconsciously held her even tighter.

He suddenly realized that this feeling of being relied upon... was actually not bad.

At the same time.

Lin Hongying stood below the criticism platform, her fingers digging desperately into her palms, almost drawing blood.

Her eyes were wide, her pupils constricted, as she recalled the scene she had just witnessed in disbelief.

Zhou Linchuan, the man who in her previous life had choked her neck and warned her, ”If you dare to run, I’ll break your legs,” now openly carried Wen Ci in his arms!

The capitalist young lady he had most detested in his previous life!

The cold wind blew, but Lin Hongying felt no chill; only the violent pounding of her own heart echoed in her ears.

”Impossible, this is impossible...”

Her lips trembled, and memories of her past life frantically replayed in her mind.

In her previous life, at the criticism meeting, when Wen Ci was brought onto the stage, Zhou Linchuan stood below, sneering, and even personally wrote a big-character poster, calling her a ”parasite.”

In her previous life, she had feigned a test, and Zhou Linchuan had acted very coldly, not softening in the slightest due to Wen Ci’s outstanding appearance, saying, ”Such a person is not worth pitying.”

In her previous life, after Wen Ci committed suicide, he didn’t even glance at her, only saying, ”It’s cleaner if she’s dead.”

He clearly hated capitalists the most, and detested Wen Ci the most!

But why, in this life, would he make an exception for her?!

And Wen Ci, the proud and harsh young lady from her previous life who wouldn’t even deign to give Zhou Linchuan a proper look, was now obediently leaning against his chest, her fingers gently clutching his collar.

It looked exactly like dependence.

Lin Hongying’s breathing became more and more rapid, her chest felt as if a huge rock was pressing down on it, stifling and painful.

”No, this isn’t right!”

She shook her head violently, her nails digging deep into her flesh.

In her previous life, Zhou Linchuan had only shown such possessiveness towards her!

Even if that possessiveness was crazy and suffocating, at least... he had only been special to her!

But now, he was holding another woman.

Lin Hongying stumbled backward, bumping into someone behind her.

”Comrade Hongying, are you alright?” Someone held her, asking with concern.

She abruptly shook off the person’s hand, almost fleeing in a panic.
