Wild Crazy Male Lead's Forced Love, You Don't Want, I Want!

9: The Yandere Warlord’s Substitute Bride 9General Fu went to the military building. Not long after, he walked out, but his close adjutants and soldiers almost mistook him for someone else.

In the sunlight, General Fu, the cold-faced, iron-willed, stern, and ruthless warlord, actually had a faint, almost imperceptible smile on his lips as he adjusted his gloves.

The adjutants rubbed their eyes in horror. Had the General been possessed by some evil spirit?

They proceeded to observe the General’s expression very cautiously.

”The armory in the southern suburbs…” The adjutant began to report but suddenly faltered. He watched General Fu take the document and, instead of sternly reprimanding the oversight as usual, he wrote, ”Acceptable.”

This attitude was far too gentle!

This isn’t right!

Not right at all!

The adjutant stole a glance at his superior’s profile and noticed that his stern brows and eyes always held a faint softness. He even chuckled softly, as if recalling something, shocking everyone.

The morning passed quickly. They followed behind the General and saw him stop when he passed a flower shop, staring blankly at the roses in the display window.

Heavens, was this still their unromantic, cold-hearted General? Was he now even contemplating buying flowers for someone?

It was simply unbelievable!

”General… do you want to buy flowers?” The adjutant asked, mustering his courage.

General Fu snapped out of his daze and lightly coughed, ”No need.”

He naturally noticed the strange looks the soldiers were giving him and knew that he was indeed feeling a bit lightheaded today, as if treading on soft cotton, which made his lips curve upward involuntarily.

This was an experience he had never had before.

His mind was now filled with Wen Ci’s words about waiting for him obediently at home. Just thinking of her voice and smile made his heart feel so soft.

He really wanted to fly to her side right now and stay with her forever, never separating.

He would never have had such thoughts before, but now, he uncontrollably wanted to keep her by his side at all times.

Although he said there was no need, he still walked into the glass display, looking at the vibrant flowers, and gently ran his fingertips over the petals.

His bride was as delicate and vibrant as these flowers, even more alluring and fragrant, making him willingly fall into her charm.

The adjutants watched in silence. The flower shop clerk, seeing that it was General Fu himself, immediately turned red with excitement, his eyes shining like light bulbs.

”Wrap them up,” he said faintly, his fingertips trembling slightly.

This was his first time buying flowers for a woman. What would her expression be when she received them? Would she be happy? Would she excitedly hug and kiss him?

Just thinking of her kiss made General Fu’s entire body warm up again.

He coughed softly and turned to leave.

Behind him, everyone’s jaws dropped in shock. This, this, was this really their General?!

Didn’t he just say there was no need? Why was he having them wrapped now?

During lunch break, the personal guards gathered in the mess hall, whispering.

”The General today is truly terrifying, a hundred times more terrifying than when he was cold-faced before. He has never been this gentle!”

”Someone guessed it was because the Madam said ’I’ll wait for the General at home’ this morning…”

”That’s it?” The new recruit’s eyes widened. ”We used to crawl out of piles of dead bodies, and we never saw the General give us a good look!”

The old soldier mysteriously pointed to the sky, ”What do you know, kid? This is called a tough guy’s tenderness!”

Meanwhile, General Fu stood by the window, gazing blankly in the direction of the official residence. He thought of Wen Ci’s obedient appearance, the gentle shadow cast by her eyelashes under the lamp, and his heart softened involuntarily.

So this was the feeling of being waited for.

It was like suddenly tasting a spoonful of honey in the familiar cold winter, so sweet it left him at a loss.

”Report!” Urgent footsteps sounded outside the door.

General Fu instantly regained his stern expression and turned to look.

When Wen Ci stood in front of ”Songhezhai” wearing a rouge-colored cheongsam, the entire street fell silent for a moment.

The slit of the cheongsam subtly revealed her porcelain-white legs, and her waist was cinched incredibly thin. As she moved, she resembled a begonia swaying in the wind.

Today, she had her glossy black hair styled into a lazy low bun, with a pearl hairpin gently swaying with each step, making the skin on her neck appear as smooth and translucent as cream.

Most captivating was her face: eyebrows like distant mountains, eyes like autumn waters, a touch of cinnabar on her lips. When she smiled, the corners of her eyes subtly upturned, carrying an unconscious allure.

She was simply breathtakingly beautiful.

Everyone had never seen such a fairy-like beauty before, and they all stared wide-eyed, not wanting to miss a single detail.

Because she was truly too beautiful.

”Miss…” The clerk from Songhezhai stammered as he handed her a bamboo slip, ”You, you are number thirty-seven.”

As Wen Ci took the bamboo slip, her slender white fingertips accidentally brushed the young clerk’s hand. The young man immediately blushed from his face to his neck, almost knocking over a nearby tea tray.

The queue began to stir.

Some people secretly glanced at her, their eyes filled with amazement and disbelief. How could there be such a beautiful person in this world?

More people whispered to each other. Such a beautiful and exquisite figure, if she were a young lady from a prominent family in the city, her name should have been widely known by now. Why had no one ever seen her?

”Is the young lady from out of town?” A man in a suit bravely walked over to strike up a conversation.

Wen Ci was staring blankly at the number on the bamboo slip. Although General Fu was very cautious and wouldn’t easily let people know his preferences, she had still discovered it.

She had discovered that he loved the pastries from this shop.

Her intuition had always been very accurate.

Hearing the man’s question, Wen Ci looked up and smiled faintly at him, ”No, I’m not.” With just those three words, the man was already so dazed he could barely stand steady.

She was truly too beautiful, and her voice was so sweet.

The line moved extremely slowly because too many people were buying, and each person who reached the front ordered a lot.

The sun grew hotter. When Wen Ci pulled out a handkerchief embroidered with twin lotus flowers to wipe her sweat, the owner of Songhezhai suddenly rushed out, personally carrying a huanghuali armchair. ”Miss, please sit and wait!”

Then he turned and shouted inside, ”Add two more stoves! Haven’t you seen how long the customers have been waiting?”

The crowd let out good-natured laughter. Everyone understood that he couldn’t bear to make such a beauty wait, but they also benefited from it.

It was well known that this shop owner was always stubborn and would never easily change his old traditions for customers. Today, however, he had broken the rule for the first time, even asking for more stoves and more staff.

Wen Ci shook her head and pointed to a white-haired old woman in front, ”Let that old lady sit first.” As soon as she spoke, all the men on the street rushed to help the old woman, as if they were doing her a great favor, deliberately showing off their considerate side in front of Wen Ci.

Wen Ci waited for a long time. Although some people came to offer her their spot, she still refused.

Otherwise, her mad dog at home would probably go crazy with jealousy.

Now, it was finally her turn.

”Miss, may I ask, what pastries would you like?” The shopkeeper’s speech was slurred, his face flushed, wanting to look at her but not daring to.

”Osmanthus Ding Sheng Gao,” she said, lightly tapping the glass counter with her fingertip. ”Not with candied honey, but with sugared osmanthus, the kind steamed on fresh lotus leaves.”

The shopkeeper’s eyes widened. This, this was exactly General Fu’s usual private order! But no one knew this except him!

Could this young lady be connected to the General? Or was it just a coincidence?

He wanted to ask more, but Wen Ci took the pastries and turned to leave, leaving only her back to him.

Wen Ci had just turned into an alley with the pastry box when three ruffians blocked her way.

”Little lady, all alone?” Scarface, the leader, grinned, revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth, his gaze lingering stickily on her chest. His two henchmen flanked her, one on each side, their dirty hands reaching for her waist.

Wen Ci paused, a flicker of a smile in her eyes, but her face showed panic, ”You… what do you want to do?”

”Come play with us, pretty ~” Scarface whistled obscenely, reaching out to touch her face. ”Wearing such a provocative cheongsam, isn’t it just to attract men?”

She stepped back, her back against the cold brick wall, her lowered eyelashes concealing the killing intent in her eyes. When she looked up again, she was utterly pathetic, ”Please… let me go…”

This weak demeanor further stimulated the ruffians’ bestial desires.

Scarface snatched the pastry box from her hand and threw it to the ground, the exquisite osmanthus cakes rolling in the dust.

”Don’t act so high and mighty!” He spat, his greasy hand reaching for her slender wrist. ”Let big brother give you a good…”

Just as his rough fingers were about to touch her jade-like skin.

”Slap!”

A crisp slap echoed in the alley.

Scarface was sent stumbling several steps, crashing heavily against the wall. Half of his face instantly swelled high, his mouth split open, and blood mixed with broken teeth spilled onto the ground.

”Ah!!” He clutched his face, screaming, his eyes filled with incredulous horror.

This seemingly delicate beauty, one slap had such terrifying force!

How was this possible!

”Boss!” The two henchmen hadn’t even reacted when Wen Ci had already flashed in front of them.

She formed her left hand into a claw, grabbing the hair of the ruffian on the left, pulling him down fiercely, while simultaneously striking him hard with her right knee.

”Crack!”

Nosebleed mixed with front teeth splattered, and the ruffian collapsed to the ground, clutching his disfigured face, letting out a pig-like howl.

The other ruffian, terrified, turned to run, but Wen Ci grabbed him by the back of his collar. Her slender arm erupted with astonishing strength, directly swinging a large man in a semicircle through the air, then slamming him heavily onto the ground.

”Pfft!”

The ruffian spat out a mouthful of blood, at least three of his ribs broken.

Wen Ci elegantly clapped her hands after doing all this, then walked to the still-wailing Scarface. She raised her foot, her stiletto heel precisely landing on his crotch.

”Just now, which hand wanted to touch me?” She tilted her head, smiling innocently.

Scarface looked at her in horror, trembling all over, ”Grandma, spare my life! I was wrong! I…”

”Wrong answer.”

The high heel ground down hard.

”Ow!!”

A scream echoed through the alley.

Wen Ci looked at the three ruffians, who were sprawled on the ground, no longer resembling humans, with satisfaction.

That felt good.

All the earlier irritation had been completely vented.

Not bad.
