Wild Crazy Male Lead's Forced Love, You Don't Want, I Want!

5: The Yandere Warlord’s Substitute Bride 5Last night, after her intimate encounter with Duan Lin, Wen Yan was still tense, unable to relax.

She clutched Duan Lin’s collar tightly, her nails almost digging into his flesh.

She thought of General Fu’s terrifying face, of his iron-fisted methods in her previous life; she had personally witnessed him kill without batting an eye, so she feared him and found him repulsive.

He was too terrifying.

Such a madman, if he discovered the bride wasn’t her, he would surely send people to chase after her and seize her.

The mere thought of this possibility made her face turn pale, her pupils constrict like a startled bird, and even her voice was a trembling, sharp shriek,

”Send people! Quickly send people to guard! General Fu will definitely come to seize me!”

Duan Lin frowned, annoyed by her, his head aching. The bed was disheveled, Wen Yan’s clothes were in disarray, but she no longer cared about tidying herself, only looking out the window in a panic, as if a shadow would break through the window and abduct her the next second.

”Wen Miss,” Duan Lin said impatiently, yet still patiently, ”Since General Fu has already married your sister, how could he...”

”What do you know!” Wen Yan abruptly interrupted him, her voice shrill and piercing, ”He has always loved me! What is that ugly monster Wen Ci? When he sees her face, he’ll be so disgusted he’ll vomit! He’ll definitely come back to get me then!”

Duan Lin narrowed his eyes, a hint of suspicion rising in his heart.

Was General Fu truly so infatuated with her?

Wen Yan certainly had some beauty.

But although he and General Fu were mortal enemies, he knew that man was cold-blooded and ruthless, never swayed by female beauty, and Wen Yan wasn’t exactly a beauty that could topple nations.

At most, she was somewhat attractive, and that was all.

Yet Wen Yan’s terrified demeanor didn’t seem to be faked...

”Alright,” Duan Lin suddenly smiled, a hint of malicious amusement flashing in his eyes, ”I want to see just how much General Fu loves you.”

He got out of bed, casually threw on an outer garment, and called out to the door, ”Come! Surround the mansion, don’t let even a fly in!”

If General Fu truly came, it would prove that Wen Yan was indeed important to him.

And he, Duan Lin, had slept with the person General Fu held dearest.

Just thinking about this made him excited.

Throughout the night, Duan Residence was brightly lit.

Soldiers stood guard with rifles, not daring to blink, staring intently at every shadow outside the courtyard wall.

Wen Yan huddled in the room, nervously biting her nails, occasionally screaming ”Something’s moving!” which made everyone tense up.

Duan Lin initially waited with interest, but as time passed, his expression grew increasingly grim.

There were no hoofbeats, no gunshots, not even a scout appeared.

As dawn broke, the soldiers were already dozing off, their eyes bloodshot, but Wen Yan still wouldn’t give up, clinging to the window frame and muttering, ”Impossible... he’ll definitely come, he loves me so much...”

Duan Lin finally lost his patience, pulled her wrist, and sneered, ”Wen Miss, it seems General Fu’s feelings for you are nothing more than this.”

Wen Yan shook her head violently, her voice hoarse, ”It’s your men who didn’t guard properly! He must have come! You just didn’t notice!”

At her words, the soldiers all looked at her as if she were a madwoman.

They had guarded all night, not even letting a stray cat pass, where would General Fu come from?

Duan Lin let go of her, disgustedly wiped his hands, and said mockingly, ”Alright, stop being so self-important. If General Fu really cared about you, would he not even show a shadow?”

He turned and left, too lazy to indulge her madness any further.

Looking at it this way, perhaps even the so-called defense map was fake.

A wave of disgust rose in Duan Lin’s heart, could it be that he had slept with this Wen family’s eldest daughter for nothing?

Wen Yan collapsed onto the ground, her nails digging deeply into her palms.

No, this isn’t right... this isn’t right...

How could General Fu not want her?

She suddenly remembered Wen Ci’s always meek and submissive face, and a twisted hatred surged in her heart.

It must have been that slut who used some despicable trick!

It must be like this.

But that slut was clearly ugly; she had once forced her to wash her face clean and reveal it, only to find a scar on her face, making her terribly ugly.

That’s why she hadn’t bothered with her later.

The Wen family couldn’t have a woman prettier than her.

Later, she was the prettiest and most virtuous and excellent daughter of the Wen family, while Wen Ci was merely a stepping stone for her.

She wasn’t even fit to carry her shoes.

How could such an utterly ugly Wen Ci have the power to ensnare General Fu? Could it be that she had already been killed?

With this thought, Wen Yan immediately understood.

Wen Ci must be dead already.

After all, she dared to deceive General Fu, so marrying him was a dead end.

General Fu was never one to be gentle with women, she had to go and see for herself if Wen Ci had indeed died on her wedding night.

Wen Yan no longer cared about the cold gazes of the surrounding soldiers, found a few women’s clothes in Duan Lin’s room, changed, and rushed to General Fu’s Residence.

*

Wen Yan stood outside the main gate of Fu Residence, her fingers tightly twisted in her clothes, her eyes gleaming with twisted excitement.

”Yes, she’s so ugly, how could General Fu tolerate her living past the wedding night?”

The more she thought about it, the more reasonable it seemed. What kind of person was General Fu? A cold-blooded, ruthless, and tyrannical warlord, how could he show mercy to a lowly ugly monster like Wen Ci?

He must have been disgusted by her appearance the moment he lifted her veil last night, and simply shot her dead!

”No wonder he didn’t come looking for me last night...” Wen Yan proudly lifted her chin, her eyes full of malicious satisfaction, ”So he was busy dealing with that slut’s corpse!”

She casually touched the plain hairpin in her hair, her heart filled with joy. She wanted to see Wen Ci’s tragic death with her own eyes, preferably disfigured and covered in blood from torture, that would be truly satisfying.

It was all because the neighbors had always praised Wen Ci as being better and prettier than her since childhood.

Fortunately, that face was already ruined.

And she was already dead.

Wen Yan smiled, waiting to see someone carry Wen Ci’s corpse out and casually discard it, but she waited a long time, and the bloody scene she imagined never appeared.

The Residence remained solemn and imposing, heavily guarded, with no signs of a funeral or a body being carried out.

As Wen Yan wondered, a graceful figure suddenly emerged from within the Residence gate.

It was a woman of breathtaking beauty.

With fair skin and dark hair, lips like painted cinnabar, her captivating eyes seemed to hold falling stars, and even the sun seemed to favor her, bathing her in a soft glow.

She wore an exquisite cheongsam, her figure graceful, every step seemingly treading on one’s heart.

Wen Yan’s breath hitched, and she froze in place.

How could there be such a beautiful person in the world?!

Or rather, when did such a great beauty, a fae, appear on this street?!

This woman couldn’t be described as merely beautiful; she had to be described as enchanting.

She was truly, overly captivating.

How could someone be so beautiful?

From the moment that beauty appeared, all the men and women around focused their gaze on her, their eyes filled with deep admiration.

This woman was so beautiful that she didn’t seem like a mortal being, not like a human who ate grains, but more like a fairy who grew up drinking dew.

Her skin was flawlessly fair and tender, and her face was exquisitely beautiful beyond reproach.

Every movement exuded charm and grace.

Wen Yan’s breathing almost stopped, her heart churning with a helpless mix of jealousy and envy.

The beauty seemed to notice the gaze, subtly turning her head and glancing in her direction.

That single glance made Wen Yan stiffen all over.

Those eyes... why did they seem vaguely familiar?

She instinctively wanted to step forward, but was stopped by a guard at the door, ”Stop! Who are you?”

Wen Yan’s eyes widened, and she shrieked in disbelief, ”Are you blind? You don’t even recognize me?”

She was the woman General Fu loved! The only woman he loved!

How could these people lack such discernment and still be guards of Fu Residence?

The guard frowned, sizing her up, his gaze like he was looking at a madwoman, ”Fu Residence is not for just anyone to enter, unauthorized personnel, leave quickly!”

Wen Yan trembled with anger, but dared not reveal her identity directly; what if General Fu had truly killed Wen Ci, wouldn’t her sudden appearance be walking right into a trap?

If he found out she had come, he would definitely tie her up and take her back.

She could only suppress her fury, half-covering her face with her sleeve, and glared fiercely at the beautiful woman’s retreating figure.

”Heh... he found a new love so quickly?” she thought twistedly, ”It seems Wen Ci died quite fast, she didn’t even make it through one night...”

Thinking this, she even felt a little proud.

”Indeed, not everyone can make General Fu so infatuated like me...” She narcissistically stroked her hair, her eyes filled with malicious pleasure, ”That slut Wen Ci, I thought she would at least suffer some torture from General Fu before dying, but I didn’t expect her to not even last the first night, she’s truly trash.”

She was indeed incomparable to her.

The guards looked at her neurotic expression, exchanging glances; this woman, wasn’t she perhaps a madwoman?

Just as Wen Yan was feeling smug and delighted, a soft, sweet voice drifted over, ”Sister?”

Wen Yan’s body suddenly stiffened, and she looked up in disbelief at the beauty gracefully walking towards her.

Sister?

Who was she calling?

A huge fear suddenly rose in Wen Yan’s heart.

Could it be that the person in front of her was Wen Ci?!
