Wild Crazy Male Lead's Forced Love, You Don't Want, I Want!

12: The Yandere Warlord’s Substitute Bride 12Ever since Wen Yan saw General Fu on the street, not sparing her a glance and instead directly carrying Wen Ci away, her heart had been filled with displeasure.

Although she repeatedly comforted herself that General Fu was just a bastard and a lunatic, and Wen Ci’s future days would surely be difficult.

However, as soon as she thought of Wen Ci’s beautiful face and General Fu’s domineering yet gentle actions towards her at that time, her heart was seized by wave after wave of distress.

Why? Why on earth?

General Fu was clearly someone who hated being touched by others; he had never carried her in a princess carry in his previous life, so why was he carrying Wen Ci now?

Wen Ci was nothing but a woman not even fit to carry her shoes, so why did she receive such gentle treatment from General Fu?

Not long after she stumbled through the front door, she heard the whispers of the neighbors drifting over the courtyard wall.

”General Fu’s new wife is truly a celestial fairy.”

”I heard that today at Songhezhai, even the shopkeeper was stunned!”

”How could he not be stunned? Everyone knows the General married a wife, but wasn’t it supposed to be Wen Miss Wen Yan of the Wen family? Although it’s not Wen Yan, to be fair, this Wen Miss is much more beautiful. We were all completely stunned.”

Hearing these voices, Wen Yan quickly ran behind the door to eavesdrop. As she listened to these words, she gripped the doorframe tightly, her nails digging into the wood.

Those words burrowed into her ears like venomous snakes, tearing at her sanity, making her almost wish she could tear that bitch apart right now.

Why did that bitch Wen Ci deserve it? She used to be so disheveled and looked like a beggar, so how did she suddenly become so beautiful?

She wasn’t that good-looking in her previous life!

Wen Yan’s mind was in turmoil, completely unwilling to believe or accept the truth.

”Yan’er is back?” Wen Mother scurried over, her face actually showing relief. ”Amitabha, the General didn’t come to pursue the matter of exchanging brides. It seems he’s quite satisfied with Wen Ci.”

Wen Father also stroked his beard and walked over, saying, ”Yes, Yan’er, you were really too willful this time. We were all terrified that the General wouldn’t be satisfied, but now it seems Wen Ci still has some tricks up her sleeve.”

Wen Mother saw that Wen Yan’s face was not looking good and asked, somewhat puzzled, ”Yan’er, why do you have that expression? Didn’t you not want to marry General Fu? Now that Wen Ci has married him, it has nothing to do with you. Are you still not satisfied...”

”Satisfied?” Wen Yan’s anger had been building since earlier, and now, fueled by her parents’ words, it reached its peak. She shrieked, cutting them off, her throat raw with pain, ”Does that ugly monster even deserve it?!”

Wen Father and Wen Mother exchanged glances and frowned, wondering why Yan’er’s temper had become so much worse lately.

Although they had doted on her excessively since childhood, she wasn’t usually so short-tempered, and her words were sharp, lacking the demeanor of a young lady.

They also didn’t know what had happened.

Yan’er herself said she didn’t want to marry the General, so why was she still not satisfied now that it had come true?

Wen Father, hearing the conversations outside, couldn’t help but say, ”Yes, I heard there’s a peerless beauty on the street. Many people are scrambling to see her, and they say she’s from General Fu’s mansion. We were all a bit curious. Could it be that the General married another wife? But I haven’t heard anything about it.”

Wen Mother also showed some interest when this was mentioned. ”They say that beauty is truly breathtaking. I saw someone draw her portrait, and she is indeed incomparably beautiful, but I wonder if the real person is truly that stunning.”

”It seems Young Master Fu has indeed started to indulge in female company. That beauty might have truly captivated the General...”

”Stop talking!” Wen Yan slammed the door, almost crying from indignation. ”What do you understand! How could General Fu ever take a liking to that bitch!”

Her chest heaved violently, her eyes filled with Wen Ci’s dazzlingly beautiful face.

”Yan’er...” Wen Mother was startled by her ferocious expression. ”What’s wrong with you?”

Wen Father also looked bewildered. ”What does that beauty have to do with Wen Ci?”

Wen Yan covered her face, not wanting to speak. She rushed into her room with her head down and slammed the door shut.

Wen Father’s expression immediately turned grim. ”She’s getting more and more unruly!”

Wen Mother also frowned.

Wen Yan was alone in her room, seething with frustration. A thought suddenly occurred to her: the annual Lantern Festival was approaching in the city, and General Fu would surely appear then. She had to destroy Wen Ci’s false facade and let General Fu know that she was nothing but a lowly wretch, completely unworthy of standing by his side.

The more Wen Yan thought about it, the more excited she became. Her previous feelings of grievance and suppression vanished, and she immediately contacted Duan Lin.

*

Night gradually deepened.

General Fu had just received an invitation to the Lantern Festival. As the commander, he was invited, and Wen Ci, as his wife, naturally had to accompany him.

He tidied his appearance and stood at the study door, his fingertips gently tapping the door three times.

Lately, Wen Ci loved spending time in his study. This was originally his confidential stronghold, but he was happy for her to stay there as long as she wished, with no issues.

Today, he was uncharacteristically dressed in a formal dark blue military uniform, with gold braided cords draped across his chest, and even his cufflinks had been changed to the opals Wen Ci had given him last time.

His hair was meticulously combed, and even his gold-rimmed glasses were polished to a shine. Dressed like this, he looked as if he were going to attend a state banquet.

”Madam.” His voice was low, and his fingertips pushed open the half-ajar door.

Wen Ci was curled up on the soft couch, reading a storybook, her dark hair falling over her chest. Hearing his voice, she looked up, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes.

”My husband, is this...” Her fingertips rested on her lips as she chuckled, ”Are you going on a blind date?”

General Fu strode closer, his military boots thudding softly on the carpet. He knelt on one knee by the edge of the couch, his calloused palm gently holding and kneading her ankle. ”Lantern Festival, come with me.”

It wasn’t a question, but a command, yet his tone was incredibly gentle.

Wen Ci tilted her head, the storybook slipping to the side, forgotten.

”Oh? This time you’re not afraid of other men coveting me?” She deliberately pulled her foot away and brushed it against his waist. ”Who was it who said last time that he didn’t want me to go out?”

General Fu’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He leaned over, trapping her in his arms, enunciating his words heavily, ”Madam is absolutely right. If I can’t even protect your safety...”

”Then I am completely unworthy of being your husband.”

He spoke each word distinctly, his gaze behind the gold-rimmed glasses both devout and crazed.

He had thought about it for a long time recently: the world is vast, but his wife is the most important.

Everything was up to his wife.

The air solidified for a moment.

”Pfft!” Wen Ci suddenly burst out laughing, collapsing onto his shoulder. She hadn’t expected him to be so obedient, so obedient that it was almost cute.

”Very good, you’re a good, obedient little doggy.”

General Fu curved his lips into a smile, letting her mess up his meticulously styled hair.

Lately, his wife always called him a doggy. Although he didn’t know why she called him that, he was very happy for his wife to call him that.

She could call him whatever she liked; ultimately, he was hers.

She was uncharacteristically speechless for a moment, and thinking of certain indescribable scenes in bed, her ear tips suddenly burned.

This man, he learned too quickly!

One moment he was a cold-blooded warlord, and now, with that ascetic face, he was saying things that made one’s heart race and cheeks flush.

Yet, he was utterly serious, as if he were discussing military affairs.

This demeanor inexplicably made Wen Ci feel a little wicked, like she was corrupting a good child.

But in reality, his wicked thoughts were no less than hers.

”My husband, you...” Just as she was about to say something, she was interrupted by his sudden closeness and breath. General Fu removed his glasses with one hand, his gaze deep and pressing in. ”Don’t like it? Then... biting is also fine.”

Wen Ci’s heart skipped a beat.

This was no dog; it was clearly a wolf in dog’s clothing!

She quickly pushed him away, helplessly rubbing her forehead. ”You are the respected General everyone fears. Did you really accept this so quickly?”

She was even a little surprised, not expecting him to accept it so naturally.

It was as if he had been waiting for her to do this all along.

That handsome face, making such an expression, still showed no sign of breaking character; instead, it became even more captivating and soul-stirring.

Wen Ci couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

He really was too cute.

Seeing her laugh, General Fu couldn’t help but smile himself.

After being with his wife, he realized that there were countless ways to love, and it didn’t have to be by restricting her freedom.

She taught him how to love; she gave him infinite tenderness and patience.

He was willing.

Whoever dared to bully his wife, he would directly pounce and bite them to death.

The guards outside the door stumbled. Had they misheard just now?
