A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 221: Chapter 221: Zhou Lifen Has Never Sponsored My Brother!

Mu Yan returned to the hospital room after half an hour. Mu Chen looked at her and asked, ”Sis, why did a phone call take you so long?”

Meeting his concerned eyes, Mu Yan felt guilty, ”Uh, I just talked a bit longer with a friend.”

”Which friend?”

”Qin Xi.”

Upon hearing it was Qin Xi, Mu Chen didn’t ask further.

He suddenly noticed Mu Yan’s lips, ”Sis, why are your lips swollen?”

Mu Yan’s face flushed red instantly, but fortunately, they were far apart, so Mu Chen didn’t notice.

She touched her lips, stammering, ”Maybe there were too many mosquitoes earlier and I got bitten, I wondered why it was so itchy.”

Saying this, she symbolically rubbed them.

Mu Chen frowned and said, ”Put some ointment on it.”

”Okay.”

Seeing he believed her, Mu Yan felt relieved. She was inwardly infuriated by someone’s actions earlier.

She had told him to be gentle, but he didn’t listen, saying it was compensation.

Ugh!

Mu Yan washed up and went to sleep, as she had a press conference the next morning.

Early the next morning, Song Cheng’an came to the hospital to pick up Mu Yan.

The press conference was held at Hongjing International Hotel.

However, Mu Yan had Song Cheng’an take her to her small apartment first to pick up something, then they headed to the hotel.

As soon as they got out of the car, a swarm of reporters surrounded them.

Bodyguards had already held the crowd back, and Song Cheng’an said, ”All questions will be clarified by Mu Yan during the press conference, please be patient.”

Knowing Mu Yan wouldn’t say anything now, the reporters didn’t push further.

At the press conference, the room was filled with reporters. As Mu Yan and Song Cheng’an appeared, the sound of shutters clicking filled the air.

Mu Yan sat down, and Song Cheng’an, holding a microphone, spoke to the reporters below, ”Thank you all for taking the time to attend this press conference.”

The reporters were silent, all eyes on him.

Song Cheng’an continued, ”After Mu Yan’s statement, everyone will have a chance to ask questions.”

He glanced at Mu Yan beside him, and Mu Yan was already standing.

She scanned the audience and said, ”First, regarding my brother Mu Chen injuring Miss Zhou Lifen, I apologize here to Miss Zhou Lifen. Regardless of the reason, harming someone is wrong.”

The sound of shutters continued, as reporters took pictures.

Mu Yan continued, ”Secondly, I need Miss Zhou Lifen to apologize to my brother Mu Chen.”

A reporter asked, ”Mu Yan, it was your brother who injured Zhou Lifen. Why do you want Zhou Lifen to apologize to him?”

Mu Yan said sternly, ”Miss Zhou Lifen barged into my brother’s hospital room uninvited, triggering his heart condition and nearly costing his life. Shouldn’t she apologize for that?”

The room erupted in surprise.

A reporter disagreed, ”That can’t be considered an intrusion. Zhou Lifen went for charity work, and your brother was someone she sponsored. It’s reasonable for her to visit.”

”Yeah,” someone echoed.

Mu Yan looked at that reporter, her expression serious, ”You are mistaken. My brother never accepted any charitable aid from Miss Zhou.”

A reporter quickly asked, ”It’s widely known that Zhou Lifen sponsored your brother. Are you denying it now?”

Mu Yan smiled slightly, ”Widely known? How come I never publicly mentioned that?”

The reporters looked at each other, confused about what was going on.

Mu Yan continued, ”Last year, Miss Zhou Lifen did transfer three hundred thousand to my account, but it wasn’t a charitable donation for my brother. It was payment for hiring me as her substitute, and I have the original contract with me.”

With that, she picked up a piece of paper from the table.
